"Great place for retirement with caring staff."

Wonderful and caring people. This place is perfect for retirement.

"Like living on a cruise ship"

It doesn't matter how many retirement villages you check out, Adante has the upper hand over them for two reasons. The wonderful location and the energy. You can feel it when you walk in. There's always an activity going on, and it's not limited to Bingo like other homes. Some of these activities are passive, and others are more hands-on--some presented by staff, some by residents. It is a diverse population that gets along politically, religiously, racially, dog owner/cat owner. If you live at Adante, you are family.

"Best community with friendly staff, great activities, and privacy."

I’ve lived at Adante Independent Living for over six years. During this time, I’ve experienced its welcoming atmosphere, friendliness, and care from both the staff and other residents. Many residents who’ve lived at other senior communities agree that Adante is the best. You can join as many activities as you want and still enjoy your privacy when needed. I invite non-residents to visit—once you’re here, you’ll understand!

"From the viewpoint of a resident"

For six years I have resided in the Independent Living at Adante. Throughout all of this time,I have been able to experience Adante's welcoming spirit, and the friendliness and caring--by both the staff and fellow residents. I have heard many comments from fellow residents who previously lived at other Senior communities and the unanimous opinion is that Adante is the best. The activities are numerous and diverse--and there is still privacy to enjoy when that is what you need. For those that don't live here, I would see it as an opportunity to visit, simply walking in will show you what I mean.

"An unsatisfactory and mismanaged facility; neglectful and opportunistic."

Should your folks need any help, I advise steering clear of Andante. We settled my Dad there and were constantly chasing the staff. His room smelled like pee because his laundry piled up. why didn't they ask us if we'd like them washed twice a week instead of once? Instead, they let the room stink. We received almost no warning that his prescription was about to run out, with only two pills left! He ran out of toilet paper and they wouldn't provide him more until we delivered it ourselves. This is just the tip of the iceberg. I'm truly appalled by how this place operates just to cash in. Don't even consider it!

"Steer Clear of Andante: Poor Care, Poor Value"

If you're looking for help for your mom or dad, steer clear of Andante. We had my dad staying there and we constantly had to keep an eye on the things happening. His room always had a faint smell of urine because his clothes would pile up in the laundry basket. They could've at least have the decency to ask us if we want his clothes cleaned twice a week instead of just once. His room always stank. They would inform us last-minute that his medicine is almost gone, usually when there were just a couple of pills left. He would run out of toilet paper without them providing him any, making us have to drop it off. We can go on and on about the issues. It's so disappointing to see how Andante is just using our money without providing the services. Save yourself the trouble!

"So Fantastic and Helpful in Memory Care"

My mom is in memory care here, and they are fantastic and very helpful. The staff is nice, sweet, and patient. We first had her in independent living, but we quickly realized she needed more memory care, and they made the switch so easy. The communication is great. It's convenient for us to visit often. She eats three meals a day with lots of options, and they show her the meals before she picks. They also keep her engaged with daily activities like Uno, Bingo, and something called memory talk. I would recommend this community, just like my friends highly recommended it to me.

We checked out different senior living places throughout the year, and this one stood out as the best! It's set on beautiful, wooded land, serves really good food, offers lots of activities, and has friendly residents and staff. Plus, it's exceptionally well maintained.

"Parents Find Resolution with Adante's Swift Action on Cottage Issues"

Hi there, My parents, both in their 80s, recently moved into an Adante cottage. They had been on a waiting list since fall of last year. The first opportunity to move came in spring, but at that time, my dad was in the hospital, so it was too much for them to handle. To give you a little background, my parents were leaving the house they had lived in for the past 45 years. This is the same house in which me and my two siblings were raised. Our own hands built this house, the joint efforts of our grandfather, my brother, me, and various contractors for jobs like electric work, dry wall, and laying a foundation. My folks wanted a cottage, and one was made available in June. During their first meeting with the staff, my parents were given a price for the cottage. But when they went to sign the lease, the price suddenly went up by a lot. They even tried to add extra fees for a second person, which they usually don’t apply to the cottages. My dad fought against those extra charges and they were removed. But Adante would not lower the price back to the original amount. At this point, it was too late for my folks to start looking for a new place. It felt like Adante was just taking advantage of a vulnerable situation. Fast forward to when they moved in... my mom’s list of issues about the place has only gotten longer. From problems with the staff to issues with the cottage itself, it's been terrible. They didn’t have hot water for two days because of a broken water heater. As I’m writing this, things are still going wrong left and right. And to top it all off, last week my mom was left to clean up after the plumber. She had to mop up water that was left on the floor. And all this for a $4600 a month rent?! Management had a whole month to prepare for new tenants. I hope that any prospective residents see this review before making a decision. As for us, we’re exploring different options about how to handle this situation. These options may involve reaching out to the American Senior Housing Association, BBB, ALFA, A Place For Mom, or the Senior Advisor. Updated review: Three to four weeks after my initial post, the executive director finally reached out to my parents about their concerns. Since making first contact, he’s been quick to fix their complaints, even going as far as making changes to the organization to prevent these issues from happening again. The director has been very friendly and apologetic. He explained that these problems were unforeseen results of what is being called the "perfect storm". We feel better about everything, as he's delivered on promises he made during this period. My parents are now beginning to feel comfortable in their new home.

"Great Tour with Helpful Answers and Fun Activities"

We had a great time touring this assisted living facility. They answered all our questions about the care they provide, and we were pleased to see that they offer a variety of fun activities. Families should think about taking a tour of this nice place.

"Fantastic staff, friendly residents, and lots of fun activities!"

Adante is an amazing place to live. The staff is fantastic! They are a truly dedicated group of people. The residents at Adante are wonderful too—they're warm, friendly, cheerful, and just great. There are so many activities to enjoy, from exercise classes to Mah Jongg and Bridge, current events, Bingo, book club, games, and movies. You can stay as active as you want!

"New Management, Same Heart!"

Things have changed a lot in our community. The boss left, and after the hailstorm, they took forever to fix things. Sometimes they don't have enough staff, which means my loved one's room doesn't get proper care. And they often run out of different foods, so my loved one can't always eat what they order. But I do appreciate the friendly and attentive staff when it comes to our loved ones' needs.

"Great Start with Caring Staff and Delicious Food"

So far, everything has been great! My mom just moved to Adante and she's quickly made friends with the other residents and the staff. I visited her on Christmas Day and we were both touched by the warm and friendly people we met. The best part about Adante is that I never worry about my mom being alone when I can't be there. And the food? It's fantastic! Great job, Adante! You’re definitely worth every penny.

"Caring Staff and Well-Maintained Facility Excellent Assisted Living"

Our parents got wonderful, caring attention. Their needs were checked often and care was adjusted as needed. It was great that the staff stayed for a long time. The people living there were friendly and nice. The building and grounds were always in good shape. Nothing is perfect, but the staff at this place was always loving, thoughtful, and caring.

"Great care, friendly staff, and a safe environment highly recommend"

Mother lived at Newforest for 3 years and really enjoyed it. She made great friends and felt good helping them out. She liked the food in the dining room a lot, but even more, she loved the company and the food service staff! The staff was amazing very caring, friendly, and always ready to help. Management was also very involved in the daily care of the residents. Randy's passion for his job seemed to inspire the whole team. The assisted living was safe, with meals and medications carefully managed. The care options are excellent as health needs change. I definitely recommend it!

"Loving Life at This Assisted Living Facility"

They really enjoy living here. The food and community are great. The cost is similar to our other favorite, maybe a bit less. We like the layout—it's a smaller community.

"A Place for Mom Made All the Difference for Us"

This place is fantastic! My 93-year-old mom loves it here. After living alone for 20 years, she’s made many friends and enjoys the many activities available. The building is beautiful, the staff really cares and knows everyone, and the food is great. I couldn’t have found a better assisted living place for my mom without A Place for Mom. Claudia, a representative and friend, called every top-rated community in San Antonio, TX. Each manager then reached out personally to invite us for a tour. Adante won my mom’s heart right away, so she decided to stay.

"Adante Senior Living Offers Great Food, Friendly Staff, and Fun"

The food here is delicious, healthy, and has a lot of variety. The staff is both efficient and friendly. They show movies once or twice a day, including some classic favorites and new releases. Weekly chapel services are available, and transportation is provided for shopping, banking, and other needs at least once a week. There are also weekly outings to different places within a 150-mile radius. The buildings are new and kept in top shape, and the grounds are well maintained.

"Adante Senior Living Review: Great Care with Room for Improvement"

The care at Adante's MC unit is awesome. Sometimes, they could use an extra staff member, especially during meals. Some residents need more help with eating, which can lead to falls. The staff is always kind and caring, which means a lot to us. We're thankful for Adante's care.

"Great Staff and Receptionists at Memory Care Facility"

My loved one has been in memory care for a year now. The staff is wonderful and works really hard, though they could use 3 people on the 3-11 shift. The building receptionist, Debbie, Ida, Nora, and Christine, is excellent!

" "Adante, San Antonio - Needs Improvements & Better Staffing""

This place doesn't have enough staff and they take too long to respond to emergency calls. There's no trained nurse on the job, just an activity director without the right qualifications. There's a few people here who really care, but I'm worried about safety. The food is okay, nothing special. They also don't pay attention to special dietary needs.

"Great Experience at Adante Senior Living Facilities"

I visited Adante's Assisted Living and Independent Living communities. Dawn, our guide, was amazing and knew everything about the place. She knew each resident's name and greeted them as we walked around. Everyone seemed really happy there. Some were chatting in common areas, while others enjoyed the outdoors. Residents can join various activities, like the Senior Games or aqua aerobics in the pool. They even have a movie theater in the independent living area. The buildings were spotless, and the staff were all very friendly.

"Staff are overwhelmed, but facility is clean with good food."

This place had stuff to do, but my family member didn't want to join in. It looked really new and cool. Most of the workers were nice, but I think they had too much to do. When we first arrived, the person at the front desk would say hi, but then they got too busy to even look up. I wish they paid more attention to families like us. The food was tasty, and everything was clean. But there were a lot of different bosses in just two years, and I heard some gossip while I was there.

"Adante San Antonio is a really pleasant and welcoming place"

I found Adante San Antonio to be a really pleasant place. The staff and residents are super friendly and welcoming. Jeff is amazing and knows a lot. The location is great. The facility is very clean, so there's no need to worry about any bad smells. My biggest concern is the cost! I know all independent living places are pricey, but since I can afford it, why not spend it? The residents seem to be in their 70s, but everyone is active, and it looks like there are plenty of activities.

This assisted living facility is the nicest one we’ve seen. It’s really nice, especially for the independent side. The food is excellent—healthy, well-prepared, and good. I appreciate how it’s laid out; it’s simple to understand, flows well, and encourages social interaction.

"Everyone loves it, except my mom, who’s very stubborn"

The activities at Adante are pretty good. However, my mom has a private caregiver who comes every weekday, so she’s mostly kept to herself and hasn't joined in on the social events. From what I’ve seen, they really try hard with the activities. My mom says she doesn’t like it there and just wants to be at home, but her doctor strongly recommended Adante. I found this place through A Place for Mom and worked with Misti Rich, and it was on the list of options. The doctor is very happy with her being here. There was some trouble with her medications because she doesn’t handle them herself Adante does. Her doctor told her, "Adante is where you need to be right now; you can’t manage your own medications." Everyone else at Adante seems to love it, but my mom is very stubborn.

My wife and I just moved in about a month ago. We're quite pleased with this place. They offer cottages and apartments, and the cottages are bigger. The grounds and building are really well taken care of, and the staff is super friendly. They definitely deserve a 5 out of 5. We feel like we're getting good value for our money. The activities calendar seems pretty packed. We haven't been here long, but so far, so good.

"Assisted Living Facility Review: Short Respite Stay, Lovely Room"

This place only allows 30-day stays for temporary care. I thought the room was nice, but the bathroom felt quite far from the bed. The room itself was lovely. However, my tour guide was very late in meeting me, and the dining room seemed quite far from the rooms.
