"Mixed Feelings: Assisted Living Facility Review"
The place looked different from the pictures. The owner was friendly. But my loved one didn't like the food. It's more suitable for independent residents.

"Affordable Assisted Living with Shared Rooms Only"
It's privately owned. They are licensed for 16 residents. The owner and RN is [name removed]. There’s only a shared room available. The price is $2250. No private rooms are available (if they were, it would be $2800 - $3200). It's all-inclusive. The facility already has furniture. The contract is month to month, and she has never had to increase the monthly price. They try to do one outing a week, but it’s been hard due to COVID.

"Great Move for Mom"
For the past year, my mother-in-law has lived at Always Home in Katy. The owner her family, and the staff have made a cozy and safe place that my mother-in-law now calls home. There are lots of activities and trips for the residents. My mother-in-law loves to read, and the owner always makes sure there are plenty of large print books for her. We really appreciate the personal care and attention from everyone at Always Home. This has been a great move for my mother-in-law, and we highly recommend the care at Always Home.

"Feels like love, home, and family"
I have volunteered at Always Home Saddlehorn in [location]. Right away, I loved the family atmosphere. The residents get to socialize with each other and the staff. They play games, do arts and crafts, and chair yoga is a big hit. They also go on trips to concerts, parks, the fire department, shopping, the zoo, and the mall at Halloween to see kids in their costumes. At Christmas, they drive around to see decorated houses. The place is very clean. The food is homemade and enjoyed together at a big dinner table. Meals are made for those with special dietary needs. Health care is very important here. The RN, arranges for in-house visits by doctors and physical therapists. also goes to the doctor with the residents and asks and answers questions to make sure they get good care. She keeps families informed. Always Home definitely feels like a place full of love, home, and family. I highly recommend checking this place out for a loved one.

"Assisted Living Facility Tour Disappointment"
I had a tour scheduled at this place. I got there 5-10 minutes early but couldn't find a doorbell, so I knocked. No one answered. I looked through a window and saw a messy office but no one was there. Even though there was a car in the driveway, no one came to the door after I knocked multiple times. When I was about to leave, I saw cars parked at the back/side but couldn't find a door there either. With 4 cars parked, I expected someone to be there for my tour. Feeling uneasy, I decided to leave and continue my search elsewhere.

"Missed Tour and Unanswered Knocks Spoil Assisted Living Visit"
I had a confirmed visit planned for this place. I was there a bit early, couldn't find a doorbell, so I knocked. No answer. I knocked again, still nothing. Peeking through a window, I saw an office full of stuff and couldn't tell if anyone was in there. There was a car out front, but no one came to answer the door. As I was leaving, I saw cars parked around the side/back. I couldn't easily find a door on that side either. With 4 cars there, I figured someone should've been in and expecting me. It gave me a bad feeling so I decided it's best to continue my search.

"Good care, friendly staff, but bad food"
My family member lives here right now, and while it's generally alright, I'm not sure it can provide all the care they'll need. The place is good; it's really clean and pretty, and the workers are nice. It appears they're taking good care of my family member, being polite and kind to them. When they were sick, the folks at the place brought them to the hospital and stuck around with them. However, I don't agree with how they sort out their food or how they serve it, which is my main issue. They serve oily food that doesn't seem to offer much nutrition; it appears they're giving food that isn't suitable for older folks. I tried to talk to the managers about it, but they didn't give much of a response. Aside from that, they're really friendly and take good note of the people living there. .

"Assisted Living's Lack of Staff, Nutritious Meals, and Activities"
I sadly ended up picking this community because better options were full. While the workers here are friendly, there aren't enough of them to look after all the residents. The food is not healthy or balanced. They serve peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, corndogs, and fajitas. They provide 3 meals daily, but there's no variation or alternatives. They seriously need a healthier menu. Despite mentioning this, they haven't proposed any solutions yet. There are no fun activities, and the floors are cleaned only once a week. There's nothing to do apart from watching TV, and the staff often just hang out. I wouldn't suggest this place.

"Good Care Home Tour, But Not Right for Mom"
I went to check out this care home for my mom's requirements. All in all, it was a good visit. The employees I met were nice and welcoming. The actual home seemed pretty good from what I could see. It was a good experience overall, but this home wasn't the right fit for what my mom needs.

They have been great in helping us with everything. The owner, Dawn, is amazing. The move was as smooth as it could be, thanks to the facility and Dawn. This has been a good experience. I can't rate the activities because my loved one didn't join them. Overall, Always Home at Saddlehorn is a great place.

"Caring staff, affordable, good social interaction, quality care"
We wanted a place that was affordable and where Mom could get good social interaction and quality care. The staff at Always Home were very caring and friendly. The smaller size of the facility helped them know all their patients. Mom was only there a short time before we lost her, but the time she spent there was good quality time.

"Amazing care and compassion from Dawn and her team"
I can't thank Dawn Bowen and her team at Always Home at Saddlehorn enough for the amazing care they gave my Dad and our family. During the 9 months my Dad stayed there, we visited at least twice a week without notice. Everything was always in perfect order. I never heard a caregiver say a harsh word to any resident. They were all so kind and clearly loved working with the elderly. They kept us updated and made sure Dad was always up, dressed, and ready for the day. In his final days, Dawn, Chris, or another staff member stayed with him constantly when we couldn't be there, giving him loving care as his time grew short. By the time my Dad passed, the staff at Always Home felt like family to us. Many people I know have had bad experiences with elderly care, but we had a wonderful one. I highly recommend them to anyone needing care for a loved one. They treat everyone like family. They also helped us with hospice care, and we had a great experience with Amazing Grace Hospice too. These people are truly compassionate and dedicated to caring for the elderly. Great place, great care, great people.

"Feels like home, not a hospital"
I spent a year researching the best place for my Dad before moving him from out of state. He was very comfortable at Always Home. We visited him every day, and the staff was always helpful with his needs. They became part of our family—the owner, their family, and the staff went beyond our expectations. The environment is very home-like, so my Dad never felt like he was in a hospital.

"Compassionate Care at Assisted Living Center"
My folks stayed there for nearly three years. The staff now is really kind. When my dad passed, they took extra care when hospice wasn't around. They treated him with respect and kindness, which helped us during his passing. Mom enjoys being there. Other residents who are more active than her join in more activities.
