"Adequate but needs improvement in care and resident engagement."
It meets my family member's needs adequately, but there's room for improvement in care and resident engagement.

"Arabella of Athens: Convenient and Highly Recommended Assisted Living"
We chose Arabella of Athens because it's nearby and highly recommended. Friends had great experiences, and the staff genuinely cares. The facility is impressive and offers a lot. Definitely recommend!

"Inconsistent Care at Assisted Living Facility"
I liked the place, but it's for either very independent or very dependent folks. I suggested Country Place because it offers different levels of care, which suited my brother and his wife better. But my nephew, who doesn't know much about senior care, made the decision. On our first visit, the person showing us said they needed memory care right away, even though they seemed okay to my sister and me. But she convinced my nephew otherwise. They were told they could never go back to assisted living once in memory care, but that's not true according to DADS. Now my sister-in-law is confused and gets UTIs. They need to drink more water, and it should be cold. The water at the facility was too warm. Also, my brother, who's diabetic, is given sweets and foods he doesn't like. Why aren't there more choices, especially for high-paying residents like them?

"Inadequate Care at Assisted Living Facility Disturbs Loving Sister"
I really appreciate the facility but I think that it's mainly for those who are either utterly independent or entirely dependent, with no room for in-between situations. I personally would've recommended Country Place because it offers three distinct care levels that suited my brother and his wife's needs more accurately. Sadly, my inexperienced nephew has the final decision. Right from our first visit, I got a negative vibe when the staff, without even knowing them, decided they should be in memory care. Both my sister and I didn't think they were in such a severe condition. However, she successfully convinced my nephew, and that's where they now are. He was informed that once in memory care, they could never return to assisted living, a policy supposedly enforced by DADS. However, DADS has clarified that it's false information. Now, they are in memory care, and lately, my sister-in-law seems really disoriented due to recurring UTIs. I feel like they need to drink more water, a common shortcoming across all such centers. Residents should be routinely reminded to drink water, preferably cold as the cup of water I tasted was lukewarm. This is memory care, after all, so they need to be regularly reminded. My brother is a diabetic, and they are feeding him sweet food. Why? Moreover, he never liked poultry, but every time I visit, he's always eating chicken salad or chicken soup, with no other alternatives. I was even surprised to see a tempting hamburger in the service area, possibly for the staff. The residents, who pay considerable fees, deserve to be treated better, especially regarding their specific dietary needs.
