"Great place with improved service and unique movie star decor"
My mom lives at Lakeshore Assisted Living and Memory Care. We had some problems at first, but the director helped fix them, so things are much better now. The hospice and social worker communicate well, even though the facility itself doesn’t need to right now. The housekeeping is good and always keeps things clean. Moving in was easy, and Mom likes the food, which is varied and balanced. The place is beautiful, and I love how they have pictures of old movie stars on the hallway walls where Mom lives. She remembers them well. I would recommend Lakeshore Assisted Living and Memory Care to others.

"Dementia patients separated, excluded from nicer community areas. Nursing home-like."
At Lakeshore, I recall they kept dementia patients apart from everyone else and didn't let them use the nicer community spaces. It felt too much like a nursing home

"Shortage of Staff Affects Care Quality at Assisted Living Facility"
All the workers are different now. The few of the older workers who stayed are really good. But there aren't enough workers, so the care isn't as good. I want to find a new place for my mom. It'll take a while before this place gets better for residents.

"Assisted Living Experience Review"
A lot changed after we toured but before moving in. The director and marketing director were gone, but they've hired new ones. Overall, we're happy. They promised a one-bedroom but had to give us a two-bedroom at no extra cost. Later, they moved her to a one-bedroom closer to the dining room. She has Alzheimer's but is in assisted living; they help her to meals. There's a PT and assistant who do exercise classes three times a week; they also take her. Since those changes, we've seen the same staff every day, which impresses me.

"Assisted Living Facility Faces Challenges but Shows Promise"
We had some trouble at first. The boss got fired when we were moving in, and they didn't give us the stuff they said they would for more than a month. It made it tough for my family member to feel at home. They got a new boss now, so I'm hoping things will get better.

"Mixed Feelings About Assisted Living Experience"
The community isn't perfect, but no community ever is. You just have to accept it for what it is. I'm okay with the community overall. The staff really do their best to take care of us. Sometimes though, they don't have enough staff around.

"Neglectful Care at Lakeshore Assisted Living"
We didn't like Lakeshore. My mom's hair wasn't washed for 3 weeks. Her toenails were long and hurt her feet, even though I asked them many times to cut them. We couldn't change how they took care of her. I wouldn't suggest Lakeshore to anyone else.

"Assisted living facility lacks communication, cleanliness, and care during COVID."
Before Covid, the people in charge didn't talk much and there weren't enough workers for the people living there. The folks who helped out were nice and got things done, so our mom, who could do a lot on her own, stayed in the part where they help a little. But when Covid came, we couldn't go inside to see her for almost a whole year. We had to trust the place to take care of her. As her memory got worse, we called her every day because she was stuck in her room alone for months. She told us there were lots of food trays around and no towels in the bathroom, which made us worry if she was being taken care of. Finally, when they let me in (they knew I was coming), I saw her room was a mess. There were food trays everywhere, the bathroom and sheets were dirty, there were ants on the counter, and the place smelled bad because of old food. We moved her out as soon as we could. If your loved one can do things by themselves, this place might be okay. But if they need help, you might not be happy, like us.

"Poor Care and Low Staffing: A Disappointing Assisted Living Experience"
In an assisted living facility, even before the pandemic, communication from the administration was lacking, and the staff-to-resident ratio left much to be desired. The caregivers were kind, but our mother's care suffered during Covid. For nearly a year, we couldn't enter her room, and visitation was minimal. When we finally gained access, we were dismayed by the conditions: neglected food trays, soiled sheets, and an unpleasant odor. If your loved one is independent, Lakeshore might suffice, but those needing assistance won't receive adequate care due to understaffing.

"Mismanaged Assisted Living Facility Mistreats Residents"
This place looks fantastic on the surface. However, the employees are unprofessional. The management is also highly ineffective. Many problems involving the residents regularly go unaddressed. I wouldn't want anyone from my family to live here, especially not my mom or loved ones who are deaf. I genuinely think this facility should be closed for good. It's disheartening to see how they treat the families who put their trust in them.
