"Needs More Engagement and Care for Residents"
Overall, I'd rate the experience a 3.5. I'm disappointed that, for the Level Care charge, my dad only gets help with dressing himself and some light encouragement to try activities. They just accept his refusals! I wish the aides would ask why he doesn't want to participate and explain why it's important to stay clean, do activities, and have some fun. He shouldn't just be sitting in his room watching TV or napping all the time.

"Friendly staff and good food, but minor issues noted"
My Dad did well at Ashwood. The staff was friendly and caring. There were some staffing issues, and his room wasn’t cleaned as well as it should have been. We also had a few problems with the laundry. Despite these small issues, he got good care. The food was very good and helped him get stronger. Overall, my Dad was happy with everything.

Our family members really like the meals and activities here. Bingo, church, and field trips are offered. The cost is reasonable.

"Inconsistent Care Quality at Ashwood, Despite Good Staff"
Ashwood's performance has been a bit unpredictable. The care provided isn't always dependable, but their team is great. There's definitely room for them to become better!

"Review: Ashwood Court - Underpaid staff Causes High Turnover"
Consider paying employees their deserved amount, possibly at least $2.00 per hour more, to prevent the constant shift changes. This is particularly problematic during weekends.

"Mixed Feelings at Ashwood Court: A Family's Experience"
Being a guest at the assisted living facility, using the ladies' room near the bingo area is often problematic. My dad often grumbles about the menu having too much chicken. However, the staff and caregivers are always kind and affectionate towards both my father and my sister and me.

" "Mixed Experience at Ashwood Court North Richland, TX""
Had some issues with the food here. The meal sizes are just too small and they don't have a lot of options for people with diabetes like me. Plus, they told us they'd remove the garbage every day but they don't. Also, whenever something in my room needs fixing, it's taking them way too long.

"Not The One For Us, But Tour Went Well"
We took a pleasant tour of this community. Everyone treated my family and me kindly. The place looked well-maintained. The staff we met were helpful, and they answered our questions. Overall, it was a positive experience. Unfortunately, it didn't meet my aunt's needs.

"A New Home Full of Happiness"
The staff at Ashwood Court are so friendly and welcoming! We spoke to several residents, and they all had only good things to say about living there. We often see a group of them gathered at the front, ready for an outing. Our loved ones are happy there and often talk about how good the food is. They enjoy the quiet, enclosed courtyards and have told us how grateful they are that we found such a great apartment for them. We feel satisfied knowing they are in good hands!

"Fantastic Care and Staff at Ashwood Court!"
I really like Ashwood Court a lot and I've already told others about it. One thing I really appreciate is how all the staff help out with everything, not just one job. They take really good care of my dad. Every time I visit, they let me know he's doing well and keep an eye on him when he needs it. The place is always clean and neat, including my dad's room. And the food they serve is delicious!

"A Visit to Ashwood Court"
Ashwood Court is a place where the staff isn't as attentive as we'd like. The community feels a bit dark inside, and I didn't see any activities for others to join. However, the staff was nice, friendly, and answered all my questions. They do offer financial assistance.

"Great Respite Stay with Minor Ramp Issue"
My mother stayed here for a short time, and everything went smoothly. They took great care of her and met all her needs. The place was always clean and well-kept. She met some new friends and enjoyed the daily activities. The food was tasty, and she liked the meals. The only problem was with the ramp connecting the upstairs and downstairs. Overall, it was a good experience, and I would recommend this place despite the ramp issue.

"Costly Upgrade: Mixed Value in Assisted Living Experience"
Ashwood seemed nice online and clean in person, but it's pricier than other places I checked out. It's about $3,000 per month, which is roughly $1,000 more expensive every year compared to the other spot I visited. The good thing about Ashwood is that the rooms are bigger and have private bathrooms. But if Margie needed help with bathing or diapers, it would be too expensive. The prices have gone way up since my mom was there in December 2010. Now it's $600 extra per month for diapering, and $1,200 if someone needs help with all three: meds, bathing/dressing, and diapering.

The hallways sometimes have trash, and food's been on the dining room floor. My mom's needs aren't always communicated well between staff. We're new here, but we've seen some progress.

"The BEST place for Mom and Dad!"
After helping my dear sister care for our parents on their farm, it became necessary to have round-the-clock assistance for Dad (90 years old) and Mom (85 years old). We were spending more money bringing caregivers to their home and constantly monitoring the nanny cams when they were alone. Ashwood Court's administration and staff warmly welcomed my family, providing ongoing support and encouragement. The location is conveniently situated near family, restaurants, church, and shopping. Despite initial reluctance, Mom now feels at home after just one week in her apartment. Entertainment and music are crucial for them, and AC offers at least seven scheduled activities per month, along with games and outings. Watching them hold hands and reminisce about dancing to Bill's beautiful music brought tears to my eyes. Mom enjoys the food, and Dad is eager to get out and about again. I'm confident I made the right decision, and I couldn't have found AC without the helpful website. Thank you, AC and APFM!

"Very good, but needs better security"
I think the place could be more secure. They don't always lock the doors when they should. One night, I walked in and went straight to my mom's room without anyone stopping me. Anyone could have done the same. Other than that, everything has been great. The food is amazing. The people are really friendly. And they take great care of my mom.
