"Mixed Feelings About Atria Carrollton"

Atria Carrollton seemed nice, but it cost more than other places. It felt too corporate—we wanted something cozier. The memory care rooms were spacious, residents wandered alone; staff interaction was lacking. Not what we wanted.

"Feels Like Family at Atria of Carrollton"

We love the Atria of Carrollton and couldn't be happier with our loved ones being here. It feels like family. From the moment we walked in, everyone was happy. The residents and staff were all smiling. We could tell the staff truly care about the residents. It doesn't feel forced at all. We've been super pleased so far. At first, we had a few frustrations, but it was mostly because we made things complicated. The staff worked with us the whole time to answer our questions. We have no complaints or concerns. The meals and dining service are amazing. Our loved ones really enjoy the food, and there are lots of activities.

"Staff Great, Facility Not Bright Enough for Mom"

The people who worked there were really nice. But my mom didn't think the place was smart enough.

"Dated Facility with Overenthusiastic Staff and Misleading Photos"

The place felt outdated. The workers were nice, but it seemed like they were trying too hard to sell the place. It looked better on their website than it does in real life.

"Tour of Atria Carrollton"

My visit to Atria Carrollton was okay. The place was clean and tidy, and people were nice. But I wasn't a fan of all the carpet because it gets stained too easily. Also, the layout felt old-fashioned with its long hallways. We wanted something that felt more like home.

"Wonderful staff and activities, loved one's needs well met!!"

My loved one had a fantastic time at this place. The staff was super friendly and always ready to help with anything she needed. They organized fun activities and made sure there was always something for the residents to do each day.

"A Caring Community!"

The staff has been super helpful. My father-in-law is in memory care, and the unit director keeps us informed about his well-being. The community is really clean, and he enjoys the food. They also have lots of different activities. I’d definitely recommend this place.

"Very pleased with personalized care and great communication."

They made a special plan just for my Mother. The Memory Care Unit could have more activities to keep the residents engaged. Overall, I’m very happy with the care and the staff communication is excellent.

"Super friendly and helpful staff make a big difference"

My dad, who is 92, lives at Atria Carrollton, and everyone there has been incredibly nice and helpful to him. The place is always clean, and the staff are both professional and friendly. When I visit, they always greet me by name and keep track of how my dad is doing. My dad hasn’t had anything bad to say about them. I highly recommend Atria Carrollton to anyone.

"Experience Mixed, Bigger Rooms but Some Services Lacking"

Our experience has had ups and downs. They didn't immediately give my family member their emergency button, and there was a time they really needed it. You can only use their transportation during the week, and you have to pay extra if you need it on the weekend because they rent a van. And they don't offer much to do on weekends, basically telling residents to stay healthy until Monday. The reason we picked this place is because the rooms are larger than most other homes we visited.

"Exceptional staff, but food needs improvement"

The caregivers and med techs are outstanding! Sheri at the front desk is amazing! Ashley, the nurse, is excellent! The food could be improved, and the menu should have more options for those on restricted diets.

"Atria Assisted Living: Real People, Clean Environment, Happy Residents"

We really like it here. The folks at Atria are friendlier and more genuine than other places we checked out. It doesn't feel like they're just rushing us in. It's always super clean whenever we visit. Some caregivers mention that evenings might be quiet, but they keep residents busy during the day. Mom's thrilled, and she enjoys the food too. We've had lunch with her during our visits, and it's tasty.

"Clean, Fun, Good Food, Improve Responsiveness"

So far, the assisted living place is pretty good. It's been just over a month, and things are going well. It's always really clean, and they have lots of fun activities. My mom enjoys the food a lot, so I'd give that a five-star rating too. It would be nice if they were a bit quicker in responding to requests. But overall, I picked this place because it's a good value and it's in a convenient location for me to visit.

"Great place with friendly staff and excellent food"

I think it's a great place. My parents and the other residents are happy. It's clean, and the staff is friendly. They are caring and quick to help. The food is excellent. My only issue was with the move-in process. There was a bit of a delay setting things up.

"Decent, Welcoming Assisted Living Facility with Affordable Options"

The place was clean and had a pleasant smell. They offer memory care and various group activities, which are plus points. The staff was very welcoming and friendly and the surroundings were beautiful. The food menu seemed okay and they even provide personalized care through their flexible programs. A 30-day notice is required for moving out, which is reasonable. The financial aspect seems agreeable and could work. It would be a possible go-to if she relocates to Texas.

"Ateria Brought Us Peace of Mind and Joy"

I used to worry when I wasn’t with my brother, who has Alzheimer’s. With his limited income, I thought we had to choose a place in Greenville or Rockwall, which we thought he could afford. I live in Frisco and another brother is in Irving, so visiting him was tough because of the distance. I called "A Place for Mom," and they helped us find Ateria. The place is beautiful, and the staff is incredibly caring and skilled. I see a spark and a smile in my brother that I thought I’d never see again. I’m so thankful to Ateria and "A Place for Mom." Thanks to Gayle Birdwell from "A Place for Mom."

"The Best Choice for Our Family"

We checked out a bunch of places, but she was the best. She was super genuine, honest, and spent a lot of time answering all our questions. All the staff are really attentive and caring. she is a blessing to our family! She’s amazing!

"Caring Staff and Amenities Shine at This Assisted Living Facility"

Cindy and Lori were amazing. They follow David Troxel’s ‘best friends’ approach. The cost fits our budget, especially with June’s 10% discount and a $3,000 move-in allowance. Our room has a kitchenette, and the chapel is a significant part of the community. Memory care residents join assisted living activities. The entrance features ‘then and now’ pictures. Rooms can be locked or left open. The initial assessment happens at Mom’s house. Outside paths are fine, but we’d love more flowers. There’s one raised flowerbed.

"Warm, clean facility with amazing staff and good care"

My mom is staying here, and the staff is amazing! The place is super clean—I'd give it a ten! They are always ahead of things. When placing a sick parent, they were one step ahead of me. For example, when we arrived, they had already set up a doctor's appointment for Thursday, which I hadn't thought of. It was perfectly timed. They are fair with costs and focus on helping people settle in. The only downside is the food—it could be better. Overall, the place feels very warm and welcoming.

"Nice"

This place seemed really nice. We were considering a semi-private room due to the cost. However, the semi-private room I saw had an unusual layout. The second resident had to walk through the first resident’s area to reach their bedroom, and vice versa for the bathroom. If you’re specifically looking for memory care, this might not be the right place.

"Compassionate Staff Made a Difficult Time Easier for Our Family"

My mother-in-law had to move quickly from assisted living to memory care when her dementia got worse. We looked at many places. Some smelled bad, some were gloomy, and others were nice but lacked warmth. When we visited Atria in Carrollton, we were impressed by the warm and caring staff, many of whom had been there for over 5, 10, or even 15 years. We moved my mother-in-law to Atria's memory care on January 21st. Unfortunately, we didn’t realize she was nearing the end of her eight-year fight with ovarian cancer, and she passed away on March 18th. It comforts us to know she was in a loving and supportive environment during her final months. We got to know the caregivers, the RN, the activity director, and the management well. During her final days, while she was in a coma for five days, the staff did everything they could to help us. They brought us food, supported us, and even attended the funeral and reception. They became like family to us. We plan to keep visiting and spending time with those in the memory wing who don’t have family. Atria is an exceptionally caring place, and I would definitely recommend it for a loved one.

"Avoid this Facility: Disappointing Care and Lack of Safety"

During our visit, everything initially appeared ideal. However, the reality contrasted sharply with these first impressions. The facility underwent a significant change in staff recently, which negatively affected the quality of their service. Out of a seemingly large number of workers, only a couple demonstrated any willingness to be useful or display genuine concern. The level of care was subpar, bordering on neglectful, and we didn't feel that our family member was in safe hands. After only a few months, we felt compelled to move him elsewhere. I wouldn't wish this place on my worst enemy.

"Mom Wasn’t Pleased, Felt Uneasy Here"

My mom didn't really like this place. She didn't feel at ease.

"Atria Carrollton: A Troubling Assisted Living Nightmare!"

First off, if you're thinking about moving your folks into this place, let me tell you straight up - there are way better places out there. I'm saying this based on my grandma's experience. We got her out of there ASAP. The food was terrible, she even got sick from it once. The nurse in assisted living, well...she didn't seem to know her job. I even heard her once telling the lady in charge of meds that she "accidentally" gave someone the wrong pills. Not exactly the kind of thing you want to hear when walking by the nurse's station. I used to hear nice things before the new folks took over, but this new management's just plain awful! They keep saying they're trying to improve but when's it going to happen? Are they just going to keep messing up on medicines? If you care about your mom or dad, DO NOT SEND THEM TO ATRIA CARROLLTON!

""Uninformed Boss at Overpriced Living Facility""

This place was expensive. The boss didn't know anything. He was new and hadn't even tried to learn about the things he needed to know. He was always saying stuff like, "I'll have to look into that," "I don't know," or "ask someone else about that." I wasn't happy with this at all.

"Mixed feelings: great but pricey, too large; concerns about safety."

My dad likes most things about this place, but it costs a lot and is pretty big. I worry he might have trouble finding his way around and that could make him upset because he might not find my mom easily.

"Great place, definitely a top choice!"

I loved this place! It’s definitely a top contender. It’s a wonderful spot.

" Director impressed, facilities good, Memory Care needs improvement. "

Met with the director, she was awesome. Dining area impressed. Staff friendly, many stay long. Mom might like it here. First floor being renovated. Assisted living part nice. Some corners not clean, maybe due to remodeling. First floor hallway felt crowded. Second floor better. One-bedroom apartment nice, big closet. Memory Care area not impressive, smelled bad. Not sure about moving mom there later.

"Convenient, comfy assisted living close to hospital, with great amenities."

This place takes care of your medicines, helps with showers, and it's right across from the hospital. Plus, the amenities are really nice.
