"Warm and Friendly Community"
I've made lots of friends here. Everyone is really nice and helpful. It feels loving here, not like other places I've been. The buildings are cozy and feel like home. I really love it here. The people here feel like family, too.

"Lacking Warmth and Variety in Assisted Living Facility"
We chose this place because of the good reviews and food. The staff is professional, but they're not as friendly or caring as I've seen elsewhere. They don't go out of their way to help much. The food is tasty, and the buildings are kept clean, but they don't encourage residents to make friends. They always do the same activities - bingo and movies. The gym is always empty. They should hire a trainer to help with that.

"Amazing Staff and Residents, Extra Helpful Caregivers"
The residents and staff are amazing. I can’t think of anyone on the staff that I don’t like. The caregivers go above and beyond. I have trouble moving around, so when they bring back my laundry, they also put it away for me.

"Mixed Experience with High Rent Increase in Assisted Living Facility"
The place has good and bad points, but the rent is too expensive for what you get. Every year, the rent goes up a lot, and this year it doubled compared to before. Even when you talk to the people in charge, they don't listen or help. It feels like they don't respect us and are trying to take advantage. It's hard for older folks to move once they've settled in somewhere. Make sure to look around and ask for written proof of how much the rent goes up each year.

"Spacious and Friendly Assisted Living with Great Food and Independence"
My mom has her own room which she loves because she can be independent. The food there is really good; I've tried it myself, and it's great. Everyone is super friendly and helpful. Sometimes because the place is so big, there can be misunderstandings. But overall, I really like the facility. It's working well for us right now.

"Great Place with Room for Improvement in Food and Staff"
Atria Cinco Ranch is a great place for older adults who want to live independently. It’s in a good location with lots of nearby services like shopping. Recently, there have been more staff changes than usual, which is a bit worrying. My mother also thinks the food options could be better. However, it’s still a nice place to live. It feels safe and secure, and the apartment is amazing. It has lots of space and a lovely view of the park and swimming pool.

The community was really nice, but it cost more. The set-up was too much for my loved one to handle at that time.

"A Place to Consider"
We wanted three meals daily, a big bedroom, and fair prices. The tour was good; everyone was nice and helpful. They answered my questions well. Some bedrooms were spacious, but rent in those units was too high.

"Great care and fun activities for Dad here"
I’m really happy with how my dad is taken care of here. The staff is kind and always pays attention to what my father needs. He likes his room, and it’s great that there’s a swimming pool in the community. The food is excellent, and we eat together often. There are also fun activities he enjoys. I’d definitely suggest this place to other families for its care and good value.

"Great Choice for Senior Care with Excellent Support and Comfort"
Our family chose Atria after looking at several senior living places in Katy, Texas. Atria stood out because they offer independent, assisted, and memory care options. We picked the independent option for our dad. Although the price was a bit higher than other places, we felt it was worth it for the value. Atria's fancy atmosphere is matched by their great service and real care for all residents, plus their strong security. The dining room is set up like a restaurant with lots of choices, and they can adjust the menu to fit individual needs or preferences. The layout of the facility is large but has clear signs to make it easy to get around. Daily activities and transportation are designed to meet residents' social, medical, and mental needs. The apartments are bright and have a small kitchen, plus a shower that's easy for those with limited mobility. The living area and bedrooms are comfortable and fit plenty of Dad's furniture. They also offer weekly cleaning and laundry service for an extra fee, which is helpful if you don't want to use the washer and dryer in each apartment. The staff at Atria is amazing. When Dad got sick and needed hospice care, they supported him and our family in every way possible. They always offered help when needed and made us feel like part of their family. They took great care of Dad with love and respect. I spent a lot of time there during Dad's last days and saw this caring attitude from every staff member. I highly recommend Atria for anyone looking for a safe and enjoyable place for their elderly loved ones. Choosing a place like this is tough, and we worry about their safety and feel guilty about not being able to provide care at home, especially with many family members working or going to school during the day.

"Great Staff and Activities, but Meals Need Improvement!"
From what I’ve heard, I would suggest this community. The staff interact well with my loved one and other residents. They offer activities both on and off site. There’s also a special event center and free transportation. Right now, my loved one isn’t too happy with the meals; they could use better taste and presentation.

"Caring staff and good services"
The Solana has three parts: independent care, assisted living, and memory care. I haven't used the assisted living section, but I know the other two well. Some services like building maintenance and food are shared. I lived in the independent living section of The Solana at Cinco Ranch with my partner in late 2012. Due to her condition, my wife moved to Memory Gardens, where she now stays. I visit her regularly, usually twice a day when I'm in town. I didn't see any of the negative things mentioned in some reviews. During my stay, the food and services were excellent, the staff was always polite, and the facility was well-kept. The people I interacted with were very helpful. What's most important to me now is that my wife gets consistent, compassionate care. The hands-on staff who take care of her daily needs are caring and considerate. In the memory care unit, residents are treated with dignity, like family. The staff handles the challenges of dementia kindly. This place isn't perfect; bad and sad things do happen, and sometimes situations could be handled better. The memory care unit doesn't provide one-on-one care, so some unfortunate things can occur. But overall, the staff, services, and facility are admirable.

"Beware: Service and Comfort in This Assisted Living Facility Lacking"
This place simply isn't worth the high cost. Sure, it might look good at first glance, but don't be fooled - it's far from fancy. My mom lived there for just three months, and she couldn't wait to leave. Seems like most residents are there because their kids want them nearby, not because they chose it. My mom and her friends never felt at home. The management was unkind and even seemed rude at times. I genuinely pity those who have no other choice in the Cinco Ranch area. Thankfully, we managed to move my mom to the Conservatory, where she's thrilled to be now. Here's the kicker. For more than 30 days during her initial month, my mom had no air conditioning. The compressor went out, and all they did was bring in a portable unit that ended up flooding her carpet on the first day. This barely cooled one room, leaving the rest uncomfortable and humid. The maintenance staff were sympathetic, but their hands were tied. One night, my husband stopped by for a visit and found my mom on the floor. He called reception in a panic, but it felt like forever before anyone arrived. When someone finally did, they were disturbingly nonchalant, told my husband to call 911, and didn't offer any assistance or even the smallest sign of sympathy. Nope, they didn't even lend a hand to get her off the floor, nor offer to call for help. Unbelievable. Needless to say, we got her out of there in a flash.

"Extremely Dissatisfied: Overpriced, Poor Management, Subpar Medical Care"
This assisted living facility is heavily overpriced and offers subpar services. The management team does a poor job and the quality of the meals provided is unsatisfactory. The attention and care towards residents is below par. I noticed an alarming lack of attention to the medical needs of my loved one - they were administered incorrect medication and the incident was brushed under the rug. The facility suffers from a high rate of staff turnover, resulting in insufficient help. I have made multiple attempts to reach out to the owners but they remain unresponsive. Furthermore, the fees are constantly increased and additional charges are levied for amenities that aren't delivered. The person in charge does not foster relationships with the families and is not available for interaction. Fortunately, there's a new facility opening in Katy, which will make a more suitable home for my relative.

"High Staff Turnover and Poor Care, Not Worth the Price!"
This assisted living facility really lacks quality and care. There's a constant change in the staff and the management is disrespectful. The director is always cooped up in her office and doesn't maintain a cordial demeanor. She doesn't seem to care about the staffing issues or the well-being of the residents. She seems unbothered and prefers to stay behind the cover of her office door. I've contacted The Arbor Company, who is in charge of The Solana, about my issues, but my concerns were merely brushed off. It's a classic case of out of sight, out of mind. Several talented employees have left due to the poor treatment they've received. Don't count on this place for the care of your loved ones. To my shock, I once found my mom lying half-dressed on her bed, still sleeping and not taken to breakfast. The administration of medication here is erratic and they're always ready with a host of excuses. Finding a capable nursing director seems to be a big challenge for them. Sure, everything seems nice on the surface, but the actual care is a huge letdown. They'll pull all stops to convince you to choose them, but don't fall prey. It's not worth the hefty price tag—we were paying $5000 a month for nothing! We were even suggested to hire a sitter for our family member when she was ill, instead of the staff doing their job. We decided to leave and I hope others follow suit before they find themselves in financial despair.

"Poor communication and care overrule the beautiful facilities at Solana"
The Solana isn't doing a great job connecting patients and caregivers. Their bell-ringing system is not very good. It can take anywhere between 2 and 30 minutes for someone to show up. It's really tough to visit your family during non-business hours. The laundry often ends up in weird spots around the house. The big bosses would rather hand out prizes than actually fix what's wrong. I'm giving this place a one star review because of how they treat their patients, not because it's not a nice looking place. If you're just looking for a pretty place, then this is it. But if you're looking for good care, you should look somewhere else. I suggest reading reviews from people who have family living there, not just visitors.

"Stylish Facility but Unskilled, Understaffed and Unpleasant"
While this assisted living facility may appear clean and modern, the staff seem unfamiliar with basic tasks like changing diapers, causing a lingering unpleasant smell in the rooms. It feels as though the corporate management constructs lovely buildings, but lacks an adequate workforce. They sometimes hire registered nurses, but their tenure rarely goes beyond a couple of months. This speaks to a serious staffing deficiency in the facility. Their skill sets in personal care tasks such as diaper changing seem inadequate. Staff turnover is particularly high, with many staff leaving the job in just a matter of weeks, which, to be fair, is understandable considering the hard work associated with the job. Management constantly complains about dwindling profits, while the lives of their residents suffer.

"Assisted Living Review: Effortful Staff, Pleasant Environment, Improving Food Quality"
My family member enjoyed the food here, gaining weight happily. Occasionally slow service, but mostly good meals. They need more staff during mealtime rush. They're working on it. Sometimes slow to respond to call buttons. They're improving. Great for people with memory issues. Rooms were new and customizable, not too fancy. Staff were accommodating and patient. Helped my family member make friends. They're making a real effort.

"Spacious, Resort-Like Community"
We visited this place while exploring memory care options for our loved one. Their memory care program impressed us with its organization, and the staff seemed well-informed about working with memory care patients. The community was quite spacious, almost like a resort. Unfortunately, they didn’t have the room style we wanted during our search.

"Loved it but mom needed more care"
I really liked this place and wanted my mom to move here, but it’s more for independent living. I felt like my mom needed more care. They do have assisted living, but it’s not open yet, and it’s not very convenient for my brother and me. The rooms in independent living are bigger and cheaper than in assisted living, but I couldn’t get veterans’ assistance. In the long run, I would have spent more here.

"Clean, spacious rooms and great food options; less crowded"
The new facility has clean rooms and a variety of food options, unlike the standard meals at other places. It’s less crowded than Atria, which is a plus. The shower area is excellent. We found out that Aunt needs a physical exam before moving in, and some people have been turned away after talking to the nurse. We'll see what happens, but I chose this place.

"Assisted Living Facility Review: Near Freeway, Outdoor Space Doubts"
The place might be too close to the freeway. I'm not sure about the outdoor area. The independent living unit H, especially the one on the ground floor, 1107, seems fantastic. It's a 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom with 1225 square feet, featuring a 325-square-foot wraparound patio in a corner unit! The assisted living units also seem pretty good. They're kind of fancy but not overly extravagant.
