"Staff Friendliness and Transparency Concerns at Assisted Living Facility"
The staff aren't very friendly unless you start the conversation, and even then they seem hesitant to talk. It feels like they might be hiding something or told not to talk to family.

"Assisted Living Facility Review: Good Value, Room for Improvement"
I recommend checking out this community. It offers great value. I've looked at many places for family. Some staff struggle with communication. Meals lack options for diabetics. The place looks nice in a great town. COVID affected services and staff.

"Looks More Like a Nursing Home"
My thoughts about this place are that it seems more like a nursing home. It looks a bit older and costs a lot more. When I visited, I had a good experience overall during our appointment. My friend also has a loved one here, and they say everything is going well.

"Nothing Wrong With This Community"
We're moving my father-in-law to another community because he's unhappy here. It's not the community's fault; it just wasn't the right fit for him. The staff is friendly, and they keep the place clean. Overall, it's a nice community with kind people. Hopefully, the closer location will make the transition easier.

"Not the right fit."
We visited Brookdale Friendswood and knew someone in memory care. Memory care rooms were nice, but assisted living setup wasn't what we wanted. It felt too institutional, not bright or open. It wasn't right for our loved one.

"Great tour, pricey rooms. Recommend for a visit"
This community is really nice. The staff did a really good job showing us around during our tour. They answered all our questions. The rooms were nice, but they were more expensive than what we planned for my mom's budget. I think it's worth coming for a tour.

"Assisted Living Experience Falls Short for Grandma"
My grandma didn't feel at home here. It seemed more like a nursing home than assisted living. Not much activity, residents weren't socializing much. Place was clean, staff was polite.

"Homey and Friendly Assisted Living with Variety of Activities"
My mom wasn't sure about moving in at first, but now she's doing great. They have lots of activities, and she picks the ones she likes. The staff is super nice and always ready to help. Mom isn't too picky about food, and she likes what they serve. The place is really clean and feels like home. Mom enjoys being with people her age, so she's happy there.

"In Progress: Assisted Living Facility Needs Improvement"
We're still getting used to this place. Mom's okay, but we've had problems. They changed her meds without telling me, and she ended up in the hospital. Hoping things get better here.

"Father's Care Community: Comfortable but Needs Menu and Activities Improvement"
This place is good for taking care of my dad. He really likes the staff because they are very caring. However, he isn't too happy with the food; it needs some small changes. They do offer him things to do, but he feels like they're more for women, and he doesn't want to join in right now. It would be nice if they had more activities that both men and women would enjoy. The place is super clean, and we're glad it's close to our home so we can visit often. We think other families would like the care and value here too.

"Needs Some TLC!"
The people who showed us around Brookdale Friendswood were nice and knew a lot. The place was older and not as nice as others we saw. We didn't like the semi-private rooms with just a curtain between the beds. In another place, the bathroom separated the rooms, which felt more private.

"Chose a Nicer, Cheaper Option Over This Place"
When I visited this place, it wasn't as neat or fancy as the place my dad settled in. The rooms just didn't impress. I also spoke with the Marketing Director and discovered it cost more than the fancier facility we selected.

"One-Stop Assisted Living with Excellent Communication and Varied Care Levels"
This place is nice overall. They're really good at keeping us informed. The food is decent - I'd rate it a 4 if I had to. I can't think of anything specific they need to work on. One thing we really liked is that they offer 3 levels of care, so if our family member ever needs more help, they won't have to move.

"Comfortable facility, unsure if mom can manage independence."
I visited this place nearby and thought it was nice. But I'm not sure if my mom can handle being so independent yet in a big place like this. She's improving, but she still needs a lot of help with everything.

"Not Ideal Assisted Living Choice"
The assisted living facility seemed promising initially, being new and well-maintained, but ultimately, it fell short of my expectations. There were few available apartments, most residents required more care than I did, and the activities offered were limited. Additionally, the rooms were cramped, and the overall cost was higher than anticipated. While the newness of the facility was aesthetically pleasing, the lack of greenery and the inconvenience of walking between buildings for meals were drawbacks. Overall, it wasn't the right fit for me.

"Assisted Living Review: Separate Buildings and Long Walks"
I wouldn't choose this place for my mom. You have to walk across a big parking lot for meals and activities.

"Separate Buildings Present Weather Concerns"
It was nice. The reason I chose another place is because the independent living at Emeritus was in a different building, and you had to walk across the parking lot from the main building. It's not a bad thing, but I didn't want my mother to have to walk across the parking lot in bad weather.

"Mixed experience: Friendly staff, limited menu, hospital-like assisted living."
They didn't start well. The person we were supposed to meet wasn't there, and nobody knew about our appointment. We had to wait until they found someone to show us around. The person who eventually showed up smelled like cigarettes and wasn't dressed professionally. However, she and the other staff were friendly. The grounds and courtyard were lovely, as was the dining room, although the menu was more limited than expected. The independent living apartments were nice, but the assisted living area felt too much like a hospital, with alarms constantly going off. My mother didn't like the alarms or the smell. Despite that, she preferred this place over the Hampton, mostly because there are a lot of Catholics there and they have regular visits from a priest, plus transportation to a nearby Catholic church. That's why I'm giving it three stars instead of two.

"Unpleasant Odor and Inconvenient Layout"
There was a bad smell we didn't like. Also, we didn't like that we had to go to another building for independent living. There wasn't a covered walkway, and we had to use a keypad to get in.

"Clean, Homey Assisted Living with Ice Cream!"
The place is clean, but it feels like a nursing home. I liked the room sizes and the fact that they serve ice cream at 3 PM. You can order meals in the dining area, which is open and has a large design for memory care.

"Dad Found Mr. Palmer's Apartment Nice But Walkway Uncovered"
