"Personalized Care in Small Community Setting"
I like how the place is set up with separate buildings for each group of 20 people. If something comes up, I can go to the office in my mom's building to talk about it and they fix it. I'd tell a friend about it, but it's also important to keep an eye out and deal with issues as they happen. Treat everyone nicely, show appreciation, and thank the staff for looking after your family member.

"Good experience with Avalon; staff and small size are highlights"
I would recommend Avalon. We've had a good experience here. We get along well with the staff and appreciate the small size of the facility.

"Nice place but staff could be friendlier"
This place is nice. The salesperson we worked with is great. Sometimes, the staff seems distant and not as friendly as I hoped for. I'm still glad we picked this place, but it's not perfect. I would recommend it to others.

"**"Staff Unskilled for Memory Care Residents"**"
Before moving your loved one here, make sure you fully understand everything about the community. Unfortunately, the staff lacks the necessary skills to care for memory care residents.

"Affordable Memory Care; Limited Meals and Activities"
Avalon Memory Care is a clean place with no problems and every time we visit, the people are really friendly. Our family member doesn't like the meals, a lot of it's casseroles and there's not many fresh veggies, salads, or fruits. A lot of the people there are seriously affected by their dementia so we don't see many activities happening. The price is fair compared to other places around. We wouldn't suggest it, but the house mom is really good. She's great at staying in touch and we feel okay with our family members being there because we know they're safe.

"Alternative Choice for Assisted Living - Great Experience, Considered Location/Costs"
I visited Avalon Memory Care and it was nice. We picked a different place because it's closer and cheaper; plus, they cover everything, which was really good.

"Disorganized staff made me feel unwelcome during scheduled appointment."
My appointment was scheduled, but the staff didn't seem to know what was happening, and I didn't feel welcomed.

"Great Activities, Needs Management Check-Ins"
This is a good place for your loved one. Sometimes, the management needs a little checking up on. They have fun activities like karaoke, cards, dominoes, and even bring in entertainers to sing. There’s also bowling.

"A Mixed Experience"
They haven't been very open about things like bruises or falls. They didn't tell me that my loved one was having issues and not sounding like herself, which I noticed when I talked to her directly. After a call with the nurse practitioner, we made a plan. I asked for a lab test, but it still hadn't been done, and the nurse hadn't visited my loved one for several days. With elderly people, this can be dangerous. When I visit, there are no pillowcases or top sheets on the bed. One evening, they hadn't even put her nightgown on. They don't even put her shoes on. That's not what I want for her. Her shampoo, body wash, hand soap, and toothpaste have all disappeared, and I have no idea where they went. There's never any toilet paper, tissues, towels, or washcloths in the room. The staff is friendly, and the facility is clean and beautiful, but I'm not happy with the care she's receiving.
