"Avalon Community: Cozy, Home-Like with Spacious Rooms"

We like that Avalon community feels like home. It’s small, so it’s cozy and intimate. The rooms are nice, with big showers and lots of space for residents to move around. We would suggest this community to others.

"Satisfactory Care for Loved One Despite Some Issues"

My husband has been living at Avalon residence since July 15, 2016, after leaving Haven Behavioral Hospital in Frisco. He has liked it from the start, which is a blessing. I am a bit disappointed with the cleanliness and some of the aides' attitudes. For instance, during a visit last Sunday, one aide opened the door but disappeared soon after. Another aide sat in a chair, dozing and talking on her cell phone, paying little attention to me watching her. There is one male aide my husband responds well to, but he isn't there as much as I'd like. Currently, there are four residents living there; two others are in the hospital. The manager and her assistant seem to be doing a good job. I know I haven't always handled situations well or made the best decisions myself, but I'll try harder. I hope things will improve with a bit more time as we adjust. I didn't expect a lot of activity, but I haven't seen much in the few weeks my husband has been there. Despite all this, the most important thing is that Derrell feels cared for, and he definitely does! Blessings and thank you.
