"Assisted Living Facility Needs Improved Activities and Communication"
The workers are nice. Cleaning is good. But, no activity schedule, no updates, no choices for meals. Move-in was smooth. Food okay, but no menu. Need an activities director desperately! Mom's been here 4 months, no daily activities. Mostly just TV. Initial promises not kept. Staff friendly, place clean. Disappointed overall.

"Disappointing Experience at Avalon Memory Care"
I was relieved to move my mom out of Avalon Memory Care. They washed everyone's clothes together, so my mom never got hers back. Even though we labeled them, they still dressed her in other people's outfits. The staff blasted inappropriate videos and music so loudly in the common area that we couldn't talk. I had to take my mom to her room just to have a conversation. Since the common area was also the dining area, we couldn't escape it. One resident spread feces around, and they did nothing about it because they said she had a right to live there. Considering the price, it's unacceptable.

"Efficient monitoring, but needs more staff."
They make sure everyone stays together during the day, which makes it easier for the few staff to look after everyone and see what they need. We think that's a good idea. But like lots of other places, they don't have enough staff. The ones they do have are doing their best.

"New Staff Made Mom Uncomfortable; Bad Experience; Wouldn't Recommend"
This place got worse when they got new bosses. They brought in new workers who caused trouble. One person on the staff would shout at my mom, hide stuff she needed, and even took something of hers. We had to move my mom out because she wasn't feeling good here. She was unhappy. Overall, it wasn't a good time.

"Disappointing Assisted Living Experience"
I wouldn’t suggest this place to anyone. The garbage bins were gross, and trash ended up everywhere. Some of the managers quit, and they’re really understaffed. They didn’t treat my family member well, and we’re super let down by this community.

"Residents not separated, limited activities, loved one declined quickly."
The people living there were all together in one large room. They didn't separate them based on their abilities. My family member was doing much better than others, but the activities they had were only suitable for people with certain memory needs. Because of this, she got worse very fast, so we had to find another place for her.

"Happy with staff, food, and owner's care"
The staff here is really nice and always ready to help. The executive we dealt with was amazing. The food is really good. There is some staff turnover, but she is really happy. They encourage her to join in daily activities. The place is clean and doesn’t have any bad smells. The owner really cares about his work and memory care. I definitely recommend this place.

"Great place with friendly staff and lots of activities"
After checking out the facility and doing some research, we felt it was the right place for our loved one. The staff is excellent, and the place is kept clean. They help with laundry and regularly take out the trash. There are fun activities like crafts, concerts by musical groups, and they even have a beautician and some ministers on site. The other residents are also very friendly. I would definitely recommend this place to other families who are looking.

"Perfect Home for Mom’s Happiness in Keller"
A few years ago, our mom started showing signs of dementia and was really scared to be alone at home. Since my siblings and I work full-time, we had to find an assisted living place for her. But as her condition got worse, the place couldn’t keep up with her needs. She was very unhappy and often angry because she was told to stay in her room at night and not disturb others. She had “sundowners” and needed to move around in the evenings. We even hired private sitters to stay with her at night to help out. Still, I got daily calls from the staff asking us or the sitter to come help because Mom wouldn’t stay in her room. It was really hard to see her so sad and feeling worthless. My sister and I decided to find a new place that could better care for Mom and make her feel special again. We needed a place that understood dementia and could support both Mom and our family through this tough time. After looking at several places, we chose Avalon Memory Care in Keller. We were immediately impressed by their professionalism, the number of staff compared to residents, their knowledge of dementia and Alzheimer’s, and the genuine care the staff had for their residents. We saw all this on our first visit and decided to move Mom in within a week. Avalon has been a real blessing for our mom and for us. After about a week, we noticed big improvements in her mood and behavior. The director and staff are fantastic! They are skilled in working with people with dementia and really care about what they do. Their kindness and love are clear, and the residents can feel it. Mom no longer has to stay in her room at night. She’s encouraged to join others in the warm, home-like environment. We just celebrated Mom’s 88th birthday at Avalon! They made her favorite meal, and we brought cake and ice cream for everyone to enjoy. Mom had a great time with the staff and other residents. She’s so happy and content now! We’re very grateful for Avalon and the founder who created such a caring place for people with dementia.

"Thank you, Avalon!"
My dad spent his last two months at Avalon. Irene convinced the hospital to release him, even though he was being combative. He had many physical needs, and the hospital couldn’t handle them all. Irene supported us from the start. Once he arrived at Avalon, they cared for him and helped us understand his condition. The doctors hadn’t been much help, and we were lost. During our visits, Dad was agitated and even hit himself. [Re moved] explained vascular dementia and how to interact with him. The staff was caring, offering hugs during tough days. Dad treated the girls there like family. Avalon felt like home, not a nursing home. They truly care during difficult times.

"Fantastic care and activities at Avalon Assisted Living"
My dad has been at Avalon for just over two months, and he seems very happy. The staff is really attentive, friendly, and great at caring for people with memory issues. She makes sure all residents get the best care possible. My dad loves the meals, and they don't let patients stay in their rooms but encourage them to join in activities.

We had a nice time during my loved one's stay at this community. They took great care of him. He came here to recover after rehab, and he improved a lot in just three weeks. The community is well-maintained, and everyone is very caring and attentive. I would recommend this community to anyone who needs this type of care.

"Over the Top Staff!!"
My grandma’s been at Avalon in Keller for 3 months now. Our whole family is thrilled with the care she’s getting! Most importantly, she now calls Avalon her home. The director, [Removed], is amazing. She’s an expert at caring for people with Alzheimer’s and dementia. Her kindness shines through, and her humor makes it enjoyable to be there. The facility is super clean and smells fresh. The staff are attentive and friendly. I’ve eaten there twice, and the food is excellent! We checked out several places in Keller and Southlake before choosing Avalon. We’re delighted with our decision, and I highly recommend Avalon in Keller.

"Outstanding Care, Excellent Staff Ratio & Improved Quality of Life"
We picked Avalon Memory Care in Keller because it’s smaller and has the best staff-to-resident ratio we've seen. Meeting with the director, Irene, impressed us with her experience and dedication. She quickly made a care plan for our family member. After a month at Avalon, we’re thrilled. Although our loved one is in the final stages of Alzheimer's, his appetite is better, he hasn't fallen, he accepts baths without resistance, and he seems happier than before. For anyone looking for top-notch memory care, make sure to ask about the staffing ratio both day and night. Texas allows one staff per 16 residents, but you’ll want more to ensure safety without needing extra sitters.

"Avalon Memory Care is perfect for my mom highly recommended!"
I put my mom at Avalon Memory Care after she had 2 hip surgeries in just 3 weeks. She still doesn’t know she broke her hip, and that’s how she broke it the second time. The people at Avalon are amazing! They give my mom 24-hour care when she needs it and know exactly how to take care of someone with full dementia. My mom is so happy there, and they are looking after both her body and mind. This was exactly what she needed. She’s connecting well with the caregivers, and they are very good to our family too. I highly recommend Avalon!

"Exceptional care brings peace of mind at Avalon in Keller"
My father has been at Avalon in Keller for two months, and I can't imagine him being anywhere else. Irene and her team are amazing! They took the time to really get to know him, which was very important to both of us. It was always hard to leave him at other places because I knew he wasn’t getting the care he needed. Now, he’s actually thriving at Avalon in Keller and is happier than I thought possible. Thanks to Irene and her staff, my family and I finally have the peace of mind we needed. I highly recommend Avalon in Keller!
