"Outdated Facility Falls Short"
This assisted living facility, tucked away in an older part of the city, was built back in the early 60s. It does have a cozy, home-like feel, which might suit some folks. However, the shared lavatories and communal showers (reminiscent of a nursing home) leave much to be desired. Plus, the outdated alarm system doesn't inspire confidence. All in all, it's simply not the right fit for us.

"Dated Facility with Shared Bathrooms Needs Upgrades"
This care center is located in an old section of the city. It was built way back in the early 60's. Some people might like that it somewhat feels like a house. However, most bedrooms have bathrooms that have to be shared and everyone uses the same shower, just like in a nursing home. Their security system definitely needs to be improved. This place just isn't a good fit for us.

"Compact Facility with Excellent Caregivers and Strong Security System"
This facility is compact with excellent staff who keenly look after everyone. It has a secure lock and code system for safety. Individual rooms are available, but they have a strange odor. Expect lots of activity around lunchtime as trays flood the dining area from the kitchen. Shared shower facilities are provided, but the bathrooms are somewhat cramped.

"Warm and Welcoming Assisted Living at Barton Hills"
Barton Hills Assisted Living is warm and welcoming, clean, and well laid out. The owner is very helpful and works with the family to make the placement as easy as possible. I am very impressed with the size and layout of the private rooms, and they are quiet. Nothing feels like a hospital here. They have a cute white fluffy dog who is friendly with the residents, and another adorable dog that is the therapy dog. Sadly, my mother couldn't stay because state law says you need to be able to bear your own weight to evacuate in case of a fire, and my mother didn't meet that rule.
