"Poor Care and Communication Following Relative's Fall"
My relative fell and ended up on the floor here. Despite having a broken hip, they just put them back in bed without even checking them over. Nobody even bothered to tell the charge nurse or us about the fall. I’m really doubting the staff's skill level, their training and the rules they follow here.

"Friendly staff but lacks homely atmosphere; varied meal options."
My mom lived here for 8 years but the place got shut down because of flooding. Different people owned it during that time, but Brookdale was the best. The people who worked here were really nice, but it didn’t feel like a cozy home. I didn’t like how they let my mom spend so much time alone in her room. The food was good, though. They always had a bunch of different things to choose from at dinner, usually three kinds of meat.

"Assisted Living Facility Review"
When we visited, the community seemed nice. It's a two-story building. They don't have separate apartments; rooms are one big space with a bed and bathroom. The person who showed us around was friendly.

"Warm and Welcoming Assisted Living Community"
This place is really nice! It's bright, open, and clean. Everyone here gets along well, like a big family. The staff did a great job showing us around during our tour. There are plenty of activities for the residents to stay busy with. I'd definitely suggest checking it out with a tour!

"Bright, clean facility with friendly staff and happy residents."
We showed Mom three places, and this was the third. It was really bright and clean. The people who work there were nice and helpful. They even had a walk-in bath. Everyone looked clean and happy.

"Happy with Care and Cleanliness at This Assisted Living"
My mother-in-law is still getting used to living here, but we're happy with the move. She’s getting great care for her memory issues, and there are lots of activities for her when she feels up to it. She’s also happy with the food now that she knows she can order her meals. The place is always clean and tidy when we visit. I’d recommend this community to my family and friends.

"Great tour"
I had an awesome tour of this place. The staff were super friendly and explained everything in detail to my loved one. The floor plan was nice, and there were great amenities for all the residents. Ultimately, we didn't choose this facility due to its location.

"Great place for active seniors!"
The food is good, and the building and grounds are beautiful. It's in a great location and very clean. I wish there were more younger, active people, but my mom is 98 going on 75, so she doesn't have many people her age to run around with, and I mean run. She says she'll come back next winter. She's a snowbird.

"Tour Before Choosing: 3 Star Review of Assisted Living"
We visited this place for my mom. The staff answered our questions about care. The place was clean and nice. The food menu looked good, but it wasn't what my mom liked. Families should visit before deciding on care.

"Mixed Feelings About Assisted Living Community"
My dad's doing okay here, but I worry about his care. It might not be the best fit for him. Staff won't force him to accept help, which I get, but I wish they'd be more encouraging. They work hard, but there aren't enough of them. This place needs some improvements.

"Concerns Over Care and Staffing at Assisted Living Facility"
My dad's doing alright at this place, but I've got worries about the care he's getting. I'm not sure it's the perfect place for what he needs. They say if he doesn't want help, they won't push it on him. I get that, but I wish he got more motivation from them. The staff tries hard to take care of everyone, but they're spread pretty thin. Changes definitely need to be made here.

"Upset with No Refunds for Short Stay!"
I'm really upset with how things went down at this senior living place. My mom considered moving in here so she wanted to try living in the place for a week but it would've cost us more than $800. However, after just one night, she knew it wasn't for her. When she asked for a refund of the $800 since she only stayed 24 hours, the staff turned her down. I think that's really unfair and pretty sneaky. I wouldn't even think about suggesting this place to someone else.

"Assisted Living Facility Shows Progress, Needs Billing Transparency"
We've had some issues, but they're being addressed. The bill went up, which I didn't like. They said they could handle dietary needs, though. Everything's getting better. Having them care for us is good. The staff are kind and trying to improve.

"Great Activities and Friendly Staff!"
This community has a beautician on site and offers lots of activities. The staff were polite to me. I saw the bedrooms and the dining room. The rooms were big and the dining area was nice. I didn't try the food, but it sounded good.

"Doing Okay at Assisted Living"
They’re doing okay. My mom seems pretty good there. It’d be nice if they had more entertainment. There’ve been a few cleaning issues. The nurses are really sweet to her. Food complaints are minimal, but we did mention her preferences, and she recently said she missed some of those things. There’s room for improvement, but it’s not terrible.

"Dissatisfied with Night Staff and Poor Management"
I was really unhappy with the way this facility treated my mom. The staff that works at night is super lazy, and the people in charge seriously need to step up their game, starting from the top. I'll never trust them with my mom again.

"Highly Improved Assisted Living Facility with Friendly Staff and Activities"
Compared to where my dad stays now, this place is amazing! It's super clean, though the carpet is kinda worn out, but they'll replace it soon. The folks here are really nice. They showed us all the cool stuff they offer and how much it costs. When we popped in at lunchtime, the staff were so helpful. They have lots of things to do, like games and exercises, to keep folks busy and happy. We're seriously thinking about moving our loved one here after our first look around.

"Avoid This Place: Disturbing Conditions Observed"
We recently toured this place called Emeritus at Clear Lake and it was terrible. The area meant for memory care was extremely scary. It was unclean, nearly empty, and many room doors were left open. You could see the messed up and ripped blinds. Most folks we saw were just sitting in front of the TV looking messy and like they needed a bath. I wouldn't suggest this place to anyone from my experience.

"Brookdale: Low Pay, Unlocked Doors, Unprofessional Staff"
To start off, Brookdale staff only earn $9 per hour. This facility is constantly understaffed, leading the employees to be overworked. Each shift only has 2 aides who are expected to lift patients. It’s increasingly resembling a nursing home, contrary to its purpose as assisted living. Alarmingly, they leave the front door unlocked at night, allowing anyone to enter. The staff doesn’t adhere to protocol consistently. Recently, there has been a significant influx of new employees, as people rarely seem to stay on. The dining space and kitchen are constantly infested with gnats. General team work among the staff is noticeably missing. Also, the directors and front office personnel often wear jeans, which seems rather unprofessional. It seems to me that the facility is more interested in the residents' money than in their wellbeing. I regretfully advise against choosing this place.

"Mealtime Challenges in Memory Care Require Staff Awareness"
My family member stays in memory care, and I've noticed the food. Sometimes, it's hard for residents to cut up. Roasted chicken and beef can be tough since they don’t have knives. It would be helpful if staff could anticipate these difficulties.

"Avoid This Facility: Poor Hygiene and Bug Issues"
I strongly advise against choosing this place, our time here was awful. My relative actually fell quite ill while here and we made the decision not to return her. There were lots of problems that let me know she wouldn't receive right care here. A couple of times when I visited, she hadn't been cleaned up after an accident. Plus, there was a problem with little flies in the eating area.

"A Great Place to Live"
If they keep the prices the same, it’s very affordable. The staff is great. It’s super clean and the price is right. The food is really good. Everyone has been nice and helpful. There’s nothing to complain about. There’s lots of parking.

"Nice facility but too expensive with lots of extra fees."
We visited this place and it seemed nice, but it was going to cost too much for us. They didn't include much in the price, and there were many additional fees for things we needed. We found another place that offered more for the money.

"Lobby Dominated by Massive Staircase"
I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. It felt really sad and dark. The building outside looked nice, but inside, there was this huge staircase like something out of a movie. It was so big and fancy, but it made it hard for people in wheelchairs or with walkers to move around. The lobby was all about this staircase, which nobody could even use. And the activity room was tiny, dark, and depressing with no windows. I didn't even want to stay there.

"Could Be Brighter"
We didn't like it much. I went there with my stepson, and there was a certain vibe when we entered. It seemed a bit dimmer and older, especially where they had the memory care patients. They did offer many activities, and the layout was pleasant. However, it didn't feel suitable for her because she enjoys the outdoors, and we wanted a brighter environment. We might have to consider the Emeritus facility due to financial concerns and their Star Plus program.

"Pricey but clean, with good care options. Start saving now."
This place is nice, but it costs more. However, they offer better care options. All these places are so expensive. It was nice and clean. We should all start saving our money for when we might need one of these places.

"Facility Neglects Basic Care and Communication with Residents"
This place doesn't keep their promises. They've classified my mother as needing a level 2 of care, but I haven't noticed any actual attention given to her. They don't even help her bathe. Unless they consider feeding her and providing her with medication as enough to meet a level 2 standard, there's no way they are doing their work properly. The communication here is lacking, and how they handle nursing care is far different from home health or hospice—it's absolutely laughable. Nobody has offered to help with her insulin needs. Despite saying my mother can take care of herself, anyone could glance at her and clearly see that she isn't able to. And they haven't even assessed her conditions. They also claim that they check in on every resident by knocking on their doors to ensure they eat. I can definitively say this isn't accurate. The only instance I'm aware of them personally checking in on her is when I asked them to do so over the phone.

"Nice Place, Some Improvements Needed"
Really nice, but I wish patients could go outside to a restricted area. I didn't see any ongoing activities in the Alzheimer's section, but the staff seemed to care about the patients. It would've been great to have an 'in-between' setup for severe Alzheimer's and assisted living. The staff was friendly and informative.
