"Director's dishonesty leaves my father-in-law paying for nonexistent care"
This place is really dishonest and takes advantage of the elderly. My father-in-law stayed there for over a year, during which he had to pay out of pocket over $50,000. They suddenly increased his monthly payment without telling us 30 days in advance. When we first moved him in, we were told he was in a Medicaid room. However, a month ago when his status was pending for Medicaid, the new director said they don't have any Medicaid rooms available. To make matters worse, she told my husband that they can't provide the care my father-in-law needs any longer and that he should be moved to a nursing home. Because of this, we found a nursing home and moved him out of this place before a specific date, and now they're trying to charge him for 10 days in May that he wasn't even there. They knew that he needed to go to a nursing home and yet they're still trying to get money from him. This is a really bad way to do business and they're essentially stealing from my father-in-law.

"Frustrated Relative Criticizes Care at Assisted Living"
The assistance staff and cooks do an outstanding job; there's nothing wrong there. However, the management seems incapable and unhelpful when it comes to medical issues and worries. There have been multiple instances when I received conflicting advice from the nurse and the in-house doctor regarding my mother's health condition. Staff shortage, especially in the evening and night shifts, results in less personal care for the residents. I've noticed missing clothes, lack of regular bathing, and unfortunately, instances of my mother being left in her own feces until a family member arrived. If you desire excellent personal care for your loved one, this isn't the place. While it has some positives, many areas require fixing.

"Great place for Mom with nice staff, good food. Recommend."
Mom is still getting used to living here. The people who work here are friendly and always ready to help. The meals are really good, and the place is kept clean and tidy. Mom gets to have her dog with her, which is nice. I think this is a good place for her, and I would tell others about it.

"5 Stars All The Way! Highly Recommend Brookdale Ennis"
I love how the staff go out of their way to make sure my mother gets the care she needs. They even try to make special meals for her, and so far, the food has been good and healthy. The staff is great—they get her up in the mornings and take her to breakfast. They are just wonderful people. I would recommend Brookdale Ennis to family and friends.

"Excellent Care and Friendly Staff!"
My dad has been thriving since he moved to Brookdale Ennis. It’s conveniently close to our family and friends, which is great for us. The staff are doing an amazing job taking care of him. They’re really friendly, and many have been there for a long time. They always encourage my dad to join in on activities. The community is also very clean and well-maintained.

"Mixed Feelings About Assisted Living Facility"
I'm not happy with our experiences at this place. The staff is helpful, but there aren't enough of them, and they're too busy to give my mom the attention we're paying for. Right now, there's no boss to handle the problems. They don't have enough staff. The staff who are there are nice and helpful. My mom thinks the food is too greasy. Overall, I wouldn't suggest this place right now.

"Shortage of Staff and Leadership Mars Experience"
The experience here at this facility isn't very good so far. The staff is nice and tries their best, but there doesn't seem to be enough of them. They all seem too busy to give my mom as much time as we thought she'd get. The place is missing a top boss right now. Without one, the problems just keep piling up because nobody's there to sort them out. They definitely need more employees. The ones they have are kind, but they're overworked. My mom also thinks the food is too oily. All in all, I can't recommend this place the way it is right now.

"Great staff and care, but food needs improvement"
Brookdale Ennis is a really nice place with a few things that could be better. The staff and care are great, and the place looks beautiful. The food could use some improvement, as many residents have said it's not the best. A suggestion box might help. Overall, it's a great place and I would recommend it!

"Excellent care and friendly staff at Brookdale of Ennis"
Sterling House is now called Brookdale of Ennis. My wife has been living there for about a week, and she loves it. She has Alzheimer's, but it's not too severe right now. Her short-term memory is the main issue. Brookdale has been incredibly helpful. All the staff seem to genuinely care and are always ready to assist. I have nothing but good things to say about the place. The rooms or apartments are spacious and really nice. I would recommend it to anyone looking for assisted living. I’ve eaten there four times, and the food has been great every time. If anyone wants to talk to me about the place, I’d be happy to chat.
