"Terrible Care and Service at This Facility"
This place was a total disaster! I had to wait forever to get help when I needed it, like when I had to go to the bathroom. I even went days without a shower and they acted like it was no big deal when I asked for help. The rehab program was also really bad - they just had us do group exercises and didn't care about what I needed individually. And when it was time to leave, they sent me home without making sure I had the help I needed, even though I couldn't even stand up yet! The staff doesn't care about anyone and has no heart. Watch out!

"Nice facility but layout didn’t meet my needs"
I visited this community and thought it was nice. It’s in a renovated building and looks very upscale. However, the layout didn’t work well for me and what I needed.

"Nice but Not a Good Fit for Us"
Brookdale Galleria is a nice place that was recently updated. It’s a high-rise building and a bit more expensive. It’s located in a concrete area, which felt less safe compared to downtown. If you’re used to living in a condo, it might be a good fit. However, it wasn’t right for my loved one. The people were great, but the place just didn’t work for us.

"Unreliable Assisted Living: Neglect, Miscommunication, and Broken Trust"
Good stuff: The parking helpers are nice. Food is yummy. Daytime nurses' helpers are great. Physical therapy and occupational therapy are awesome. Not so good: If your family member needs medical help, avoid here. Some nurses are okay, but nighttime and weekend staff are lazy. They don't follow doctors' or hospital staff instructions given by phone, in person, or in writing. They don't tell family about medical issues or emergencies promptly. The really bad: Don't trust what skilled nursing and admin staff say. They don't take responsibility and seem annoyed if you ask for basic care. Most families don't want to pay [amount removed] a month for neglect. Things rarely get done unless you complain to higher-ups. It's tiring. Higher-ups say they care, but other reviews online show the same problems for years.

"Not Ideal for Privacy and Views"
This assisted living facility has only one floor and no memory care. wouldn't enjoy the apartment-like setting and prefers privacy. Unfortunately, the room view wasn't pleasant.

"Total Negligence and Rudeness at Brookdale Spring Shadows"
My buddy was at Brookdale Spring Shadows for rehabilitation. I went to pay his expenses and was ready to shell out to them. Yet, three weeks on, they slammed me with a $250.00 late charge. Even more absurd, they had the nerve to mail the bill to him in the same facility, instead of sending it to the right office. I inquired where the check was. Some guy, who later turned out to be the director, grabbed my contact numbers and promised to look into things - I never heard back. None of their office staff had the slightest idea about the check. When the long-awaited check finally landed at Spring Shadows in September, I organized a sit-down with this elusive director at the Galleria. But guess what, he wasn't there! He couldn't even be bothered to get someone to ring me up and cancel the meeting. The business manager? Total nightmare and beyond rude when he bluntly asked, "What do you want me to do?" and his tone was nothing short of harsh. Then, there's Martha, the laundry manager. I requested to chat with her, given four of my buddy's pants had gone AWOL. Worst part is, I was left cooling my heels for a little more than 40 minutes and she had no decency to show up or have someone communicate with me. For the love of God, don't let them anywhere near your laundry!

"Poor and Uncaring Treatment at Nursing Home"
My mom just got out of the nursing home. The way they treated her was awful and unorganized. After her surgery, my mom got a blood clot and they didn't do anything about it for 2 weeks, even though I kept asking. The nurses, doctors, and physical therapists don't work together and just blame each other. They messed up her medicine more than once. Some of the nurses are good, but most only care about their paycheck and don't really care if patients get better. I'm so relieved that she's not there anymore!

"Friendly Staff, Noisy and Hard-to-Reach Location"
The people working here are kind, but the place itself is pretty outdated. The real problem though, is that it's difficult to get to and there's loads of highway noise. I don't think this place is right for us.

"Nice facility, kind staff, slow dining service."
I'm really enjoying my time here at this community; it's a really nice facility. My husband and I moved in together, but he has since passed. The hospice care took great care of him and his needs. I'm pleased with everything they’ve done for us. They treat me like a queen, and everyone is very kind. The only issue I have is that the dining service is a little slow. Other than that, I would recommend this community.

"Great staff, quick maintenance, convenient location, and meals included"
The staff here are great. Maintenance responds quickly even with a large building. Weekly maid service is very helpful. Each apartment has a kitchen, but you don’t need it because they serve three meals a day, plus brunch on Sundays. Valet parking is a nice extra. The location is convenient in the Galleria area. I’d recommend this place to anyone. I’m just here temporarily while I find a home to rent in Houston.

"Excellent Assisted Living Near Galleria with Great Staff and Services"
The staff here are fantastic. Maintenance gets done quickly, even though they have a big building to take care of. Maid service comes once a week and is really appreciated. Each apartment has a kitchen, but you probably won’t need it since there are three meals a day plus Brunch on Sundays. Valet parking is a nice extra. It’s located close to everything in the Galleria area, which is great. I would definitely recommend it to anyone. I’m only staying here for now because I just moved to Houston and am looking for a rental home.

"Brookdale - Genuine Care and Professionalism"
I was really happy with the support for my father-in-law and our family from Brookdale Galleria. From the tour to moving day, Kendal made us feel at ease and made the decision to move Bob to Brookdale simple. The Assisted Living Staff and the office team were all very professional. Over the past 20 years, I’ve had loved ones in eight different places, and I haven’t seen the real caring for the elderly that I saw at Brookdale. I would definitely recommend Brookdale in the future.

"Mixed Experience at Brookdale Galleria Assisted Living"
At Brookdale Galleria, it feels like the staff are still learning. Today, I'm hurrying to refill prescriptions because they ran out. I pay $500 monthly for management, but it's not happening. They're supposed to monitor showers 4 or 5 times a week, but it's inconsistent. The transition from independent living was clear, with services listed. However, assisted living's computerized system lacks transparency. Before moving in, you're not informed that there are no nurses available. Most staff are kind and sincere, though not always successful.

"Dismal Experience at Assisted Living, Not Recommended"
I'd never advise anyone to use this [removed] facility. I entrusted my grandma to them after her surgery and the care was dismal. The staff lacks sympathy for their patients and disregards instructions provided by the family. Despite explicit instructions to give my grandmother sponge baths, a nurse opted against this and removed her hip dressing, which was supposed to remain untouched. They further tried to deceitfully claim that my grandmother removed it during her bath, which is questionable if a nurse was supposedly assisting her. Their story changed later, stating that the dressing was found on the floor after another nurse returned. Quite unbelievable. The therapist puzzlingly suggested my grandmother should lie on her operated side, a nonsensical procedure. Thay also neglected her evening eye drops. When I voiced my concerns, I found Miss Frances’s response emphasizing a lack of responsibility and professionalism. Her response was flippant as if she couldn’t care less. Stephanie, another nurse, clarified they wouldn’t take instructions from the orthopedic surgeon who operated on grandma's hip, only the Hampton’s. I found the level of service here extremely low; its only saving grace might be the location. I vow to never return to this place.

"Convenient Location and Delicious Food"
The food here is really good! Sometimes things feel a bit disorganized, like they're not communicating between shifts. We pay about $3,000 for the apartment and $2,000 for care, plus extra for services like incontinence assistance. They offer valet parking, which is nice, and the location by the Galleria is unbeatable. However, there aren't many activities for assisted living residents.

The swimming pool here is without a lifeguard and it's left open with no one watching. The first building is really old. It's also not well-lit. But it's in a good spot and the food is awesome.
