"Assisted Living Falls Short on Amenities"
The assisted living facilities have limited transportation options and outings for residents. The facilities are decent but not impressive. Considering the cost, I expected more.

"Clean, Friendly, and Active: A Good Assisted Living Facility"
They keep the place clean. The staff is really nice. The care services are great. They offer many activities. Considering the cost, there are lots of activities and people to meet. Overall, they’re doing a good job.

"An Underwhelming Tour with Potential Options"
We visited this place. The folks who were supposed to show us around were nowhere to be found. We weren't too thrilled with the vibe. The public restroom was pretty dirty. The place felt kind of gloomy. We didn't see any menu for the meals they serve. We're not sure if they have stuff for my folks to do. We think families should come see this place if they're looking for a place for their loved ones. Families should definitely look into what else is available out there.

"Good place for Mom."
My mom's happy here. The staff genuinely care about her well-being, and everyone is responsive. It's not the fanciest place, but it gets the job done.

"Quality Drops at Assisted Living Facility After Director Change."
This place used to be so good, among the best in Austin. But, the director switched and that really made the quality drop. There are a few workers that have been there for a while, but mostly people come and go real quick. They just don't get how to take care of old folks and they don't realize what not caring can do. It's sad to see what's happened over the past 8 months.

"Quality Drops with New Leadership at Assisted Living Facility"
This assisted living facility used to be top-tier - one of Austin's finest. However, ever since the director changed, the quality of care has drastically diminished. Sure, there are some staff that have been there for a while, but mostly, there's been a large turnover. It's clear that the current team lacks the knowledge and compassion needed to properly care for our elderly. The impact of their neglect is nothing short of distressing. It's disheartening to see how much the facility has deteriorated in the past 8 months.

"Inconsistent care and staff turnover at assisted living facility"
This place is okay if your family member needs help with meals and keeping their apartment tidy. But, there's a lot of staff changes here. Everyone is nice, but they might not know enough about caring for older people. Don't pick this place if your loved one needs more than food, a place to stay, and cleaning help.

"Facility Suitable for Minimal Care, Lacks Trained Staff"
The place is okay if the person you care about just needs help with eating and keeping the apartment tidy. However, they do have a real problem with staff leaving all the time. The staff is nice, but they don't seem to know much about how to properly take care of older people. If your loved one needs anything more than food, a place to live, and a clean space, you shouldn't put them here.

"Decent, Could Improve Cleanliness, Activities, Food Quality"
This place is okay for my friend. It's pretty clean but could be cleaner. They cater more to residents needing higher care. Not many activities for her. Food is terrible, like prepackaged meals. Director should supervise staff better.

"Basic Cleaning, Activities and Food Need Improvement"
This place is okay, my buddy's doing alright here. The folks here keep it pretty tidy, but they could do a better job with the smaller cleaning tasks. This place mainly looks after people who need more help than my friend. She doesn't have a lot to do because most stuff going on is for people who need more attention. The food is just flat out bad, like stuff you'd get from a box. The person in charge should really check on the workers and make sure they're doing what they're supposed to.

"Mixed Feelings about Brookdale Lohmans Crossing Assisted Living Facility"
Brookdale Lohmans Crossing is in a fancy part of Austin, so it's pricey. Other places may offer better food and more activities, but not in this neighborhood. I can't speak to the care services since my loved one doesn't need much help. But I worry about the housekeeping they don't always change sheets and towels weekly, despite saying they do. Sometimes they blame it on running out of detergent or cleaning when residents aren't around, but I've tested this and found inconsistencies. It's not a big deal, but they should do better. My relative isn't thrilled with the food; it's bland because they avoid salt and spices. Lunch is better than dinner, but overall, the dining experience could be more enjoyable if it felt less like a cafeteria. It's not terrible, just not great.

"Decent location, but needs improvement in cleanliness and food services"
Brookdale Lohmans Crossing is in a fancy part of Austin where houses cost a lot, so keep that in mind when thinking about price. I think there are better places that offer tastier food and more fun stuff to do outside the facility - but these aren't in Lakeway. I can't really say much about how they care for the people who need a lot of help, since I know someone who doesn't need much care. One thing I worry about is cleanliness - the place always looks tidy, but I'm pretty sure they don't change the sheets or towels every week. When I've asked about it, once they said they ran out of laundry soap that week; another time they said they clean when the person isn't in their room. But I have already done some tests and found things not exactly the same, so I hope they start paying attention to this. It's not a huge deal, but they're getting paid to do it and they're not doing it well. My relative complains about the food, probably because they don't use salt or spices much. Lunch is usually better than dinner, but since eating is a big part of the day for most people there, they could make meals better if they made the dining room feel more like a restaurant and less like school cafeteria. Overall, it's not a terrible place, it's just not that great either.

"Wonderful place with caring staff and great leadership!"
This facility is amazing! My mom has lived here for 15 months and is very happy. The Executive Director is wonderful. The staff is friendly and really cares about the residents. They treat everyone with dignity and respect. There are lots of activities, outings, and celebrations in the community. The difference here is the great leadership!

"Perfect spot."
Moving my husband’s mother from another state was tough, but Loehmans Crossing staff made it easy. They went above and beyond to ensure a smooth transition. Despite her food complaints, she’s gained weight and looks great. This is definitely the right place for her!

"Decent food; needs more parking - a mixed review"
Be aware that it may take some time to get everything organized for your family member here. They're ready to handle any issues and mistakes that come up. My dad reports the food is decent; they serve stuff like pizza and salads for dinner. It's also nice how the community is easy to get to, but they could really use more parking.

"No separate locked wing for memory care; generally satisfactory."
They keep it really clean. It's quite pricey. The food is alright, but meal schedules are somewhat limiting. They don't offer snacks throughout the day. Overall, we're pretty content. One thing we appreciate is that there isn't a special locked area for folks with memory issues or Alzheimer's. We like that you can stay unless you require intensive nursing care, without having to relocate to a different part of the facility.

This place is smaller than where my dad used to live, but it feels more like a home. It's clean, cheerful, and peaceful, with lovely decorations. The staff is excellent—I signed my dad up right away, even though it's a bit farther for our family to drive. Their care is top-notch!

""Concerns About Age Gap, But Appreciates Student Visitations""
The residents are pretty old...worried Mom might feel aged around them. Lots of cool activities happening. Really like that they let high school students and those with special needs visit and spend time with the residents. Facilities are clean. Kinda disappointing that there isn't anyone to welcome you when you step in. Was really nice of them to invite us to visit Mom at her home though. They don't have a specific unit for memory care, which we might need for Mom.

"Good Small Facility but Uniform Room Size and High Prices"
Really good, tiny place. It's totally orderly, room selection however, is uniform. It's not what my mom would prefer. She would appreciate rooms with more space for her own furniture. Apart from room size, everything else seemed pretty good. Still, cost-wise, it seemed a bit much for the local area with consistent room size throughout the place.
