Brookdale Longview

"Friendly staff, good food, needs better housekeeping"
The staff at Brookdale Longview is great. They are all friendly and attentive. We have eaten meals with our family there. The food is good and the plates look nice. The housekeeping could be better. We would recommend Brookdale Longview Senior Living to others. We have already told some friends about it for their loved ones.

"Great Assisted Living Facility with Excellent Follow-Up!"
I visited this place, and I really enjoyed it. The view was fantastic, and it didn’t cost too much. The staff ran things very smoothly. Plus, they even called me after my tour, which I thought was awesome.

"Spotless, caring environment with enthusiastic staff and great food."
This place is really nice. The people who work there are well-trained, excited, and make you feel important. They really try hard to make you happy. Everything seems very clean, and I never see anything that needs fixing. Whenever I visit, the shared areas are always super clean. My loved one says she enjoys the food they serve.

During my tour, all the staff members were really nice. The place is well-kept and newly remodeled, and it's very clean. The room I saw was super nice!

"Nursing Home Feel"
This place was okay, but it seems kind of old. It also has a bit of a nursing home vibe.

"Facility Needs Improvement, Lacks Basic Services"
We weren't satisfied with this place. They didn't provide breakfast for the people living there, just a donut, which didn't sit right with us. They also had no one to organize activities, something we really wanted for my mom. It seemed like a lot of the staff didn't stick around too long. On the bright side, the facility was clean. However, we can't see ourselves suggesting this place to anyone. It definitely needs some major changes.

"Great Care and Clean Environment"
I appreciate the care provided here. The staff is kind and supportive. We were surprised by extra charges for things we didn't expect. The place is always clean, which I really like. He has the chance to join in activities with other residents, which is great. I would recommend this community for taking care of a loved one.

"Friendly Staff and Happy Residents"
The staff were great when we moved Mom into the facility. They were friendly and supportive. When the power went out because of a storm, I saw the manager helping people up the stairs. They have daily activities, and Mom is making friends. She likes the food and there are many choices. The grounds are well maintained. I would definitely recommend this place.

"Compassionate Care, But Billing Needs Improvement at Brookdale"
Brookdale's greatest strength is the compassionate care provided by the staff, who go above and beyond for the residents, always willing to help, regardless of whose job it is. When we moved our mother in, the staff was very supportive, helping with her belongings and answering all our questions. During a power outage, they made sure residents got their meals and checked on them frequently. They even assisted those who couldn't use the secondary stairs to reach their apartments. The community feels very close-knit, showing kindness, patience, and love in a way that reflects strong Biblical values. However, there is one issue that needs fixing: the billing process. We struggled to get a clear final amount for June’s rent. We received several revised statements with confusing handwritten notes and numbers. Even the day before the rent was due, my brother was unsure if his check would cover the full amount. We hope this problem will be resolved soon and that future bills will be clear and straightforward.

"Not Our Favorite!"
Brookdale Longview felt old, messy, and sad. When my cousin and I visited, we both agreed it needed a makeover. It wasn't what we wanted.

"Caring and Supportive Environment for Loved Ones"
My mom lived at Brookdale Longview for thirteen months until she passed away recently. She got wonderful, caring attention from the RAs and Med Techs and formed strong bonds with many of them. The admin staff was exceptional were not just administrators, but real friends to my mom and our family, showing her lots of kindness and love. The staff works hard to keep everything running well is always ready to listen to ideas for making things even better. I am so grateful to Brookdale Longview for making my mom’s final year so peaceful.

"Decent facility, but needs better billing and food options."
Overall, things are okay. We've had some issues with invoices since the former accountant lady left. Plus, they have sometimes messed up the medication, but we're hopeful this will get sorted out soon. The food is kind of plain and even though they have choices, they're not always tasty. The place is kept tidy and everyone is super nice, but they have a few things to work on.

"Unsettling Atmosphere at Assisted Living Facility"
My visit to this place wasn't too great and it left a bad taste in my mouth. As soon as I walked in, I was hit by a wave of heat. The people living there didn't seem at ease. Nobody seemed cheerful or chatty, just hushed and keeping to themselves. I can't picture my dad being happy here at all.

"Brookdale Longview Falls Short of Expectations!"
Brookdale Longview has been a letdown for me and my mom. She's been there about a month and a half, and they didn't even change her sheets for the first month. She was sleeping on dirty bed linens. When they eventually changed them, she didn't have a top sheet for a whole night and had to use a rough cover. Plus, they don't dress her in fresh clothes too often, which really bothers me. On a brighter note, they do have a variety of meals that appear quite appetizing. Despite this, I wouldn't suggest my friends to choose this place for their loved ones.

"Lovely Home for Mom!"
The staff at this place are great! They make sure my mom feels at home and happy. Her room and bathroom are always clean. The laundry gets done every week by the housekeeping team. The only thing that could be better is the food.

"Brackets"
Don't put your loved ones here. They pretend it's great, but it's not. There aren't enough staff and I don't think it's assisted living. The rooms are filled with bugs and smell like pee. They don't clean the way they should. They might take out your trash, but they don't clean the trash cans. The toilets and showers are dirty. When they vacuum, they never clean under stuff. Sometimes, residents have to press their emergency button many times to get help, or even call 911. At night and on weekends, you can't find any staff. I think is nice. The food is gross and if you're sick and need it brought to your room, it's cold, the head nurse, is always grumpy. The staff here needs so much training. They shouldn't talk about their problems with residents and who knows what else happens behind the scenes. It's really sad to trust these people with someone you love and then find out how bad they are. When we moved my mom out, the boss didn't even know her name! With just over 50 people living here, that's just not okay. The bus they use is old and not safe. It's always having problems and they won't fix it. Its air conditioning hardly ever works and the poor lady driver has to manually use the lift for each person. The guy who plans the activities is nice and he tries, so it's not his fault. I could say more, but I bet you've already crossed

"Convenient Location and Responsive Care: A Four-Star Review"
Everything's great, especially the location. They take her everywhere she needs to go, like the doctor. It's perfect because it's where she's from, and her friends are nearby. Mom doesn't do activities, so I can't rate that. But whenever she needs something, they're there. When she fell and broke her hip, they acted fast, called the ambulance, and got her to the hospital right away.

"Suits Dad, Friendly Staff, Pricey But Okay Care"
My dad seems happy there. He's 90 and can't walk, so he probably doesn't join in the activities. The care seems good, but it's too expensive. I think these places charge seniors too much, and the money doesn't seem to go towards making the place nicer. It's an old building, maybe used to be something else. They don't seem to spend money on renovations. Emeritus is good for my dad, just a different vibe and people. The staff is nice and they were helpful with my dad.

"Visited in 2013; Found Poor Lighting, Small Rooms"
Took a tour in April 2013. Place is really meant for people who need assisted living. Entrance and hallways are a bit dark. Rooms are pretty small. It wasn't what we were looking for.
