"Pricey with paperwork issues, somewhat misleading but cooperative staff."
This place is pretty expensive, especially for healthcare services. It costs like three to four times just for the room. At first, I thought the place was okay, but they weren't very organized with all the forms we needed to fill out before my dad could move in. Every time I thought we were ready, there was more paperwork they said we needed. Part of it was my fault because I got a discount for as long as he stays there, but still, it's a hassle. They're trying to help with some other problems we've had, which is good, but I feel like they didn't tell us everything we needed to know upfront. I hope this isn't too much, but I think people should know what to expect here.

"Decent Assisted Living, Struggles with Medical Director Retention"
This place has a bit of trouble keeping a Medical Director, which makes things a bit shaky. I know it's tough to find someone good for the job, especially since LPNs might not have the right experience. Maybe they should think about hiring a BSN or an RN. The cleaning is good, and we just moved my mom to Memory Care and she's doing fine. The food is okay, though some days are better than others. My mom loves eating out, so she's a bit spoiled. It's hard for them to keep staff sometimes, but the ones who stick around are great. They really take care of my mom and keep me updated on everything. I'd say this place is worth considering for other families.

"Good care and activities despite staff shortage at Brookdale"
The food here is good. They offer Bingo and puzzles for the residents, which helps with social activities. My loved ones were adjusting, so it took some time. I was really impressed with Brookdale's services. They took great care of my loved ones, and even though they were short-staffed, they still put in a lot of effort.

"Good for light assistance, lacking activities for heavy care."
Okay for little assistance, not for heavy care. Lack of activities.

"Wishing for More Activities"
It's alright. I'm still searching for a different place, but this one is okay. The main issue is that I wanted my loved one to have lots of activities and not be bored, but she always seems bored. She says they only occasionally have things happening. So, I wish they had more activities.

"Poor Treatment Led Us to Remove Husband from Facility"
My husband's medicine was taken while he was in the hospital getting a procedure. He fell once and pressed his emergency button yet no one came to his aid. He was still lying on the floor when I got there. Because of these incidents, we chose to remove him from this place.

"Good location, mixed amenities"
The staff is friendly, and the common areas are clean. However, the main model patient room couldn't be seen. The 'vacation key' didn't work. It's important to know that their one-bedroom isn't really two rooms—it's more like a bedroom with a small sitting area at the end of the bed. Also, there's no proper kitchenette; just a narrow cabinet with a tiny microwave and a 'dorm-style' refrigerator (no freezer). The sink is tiny (about 10 inches in diameter) and lacks counter space—it's right on the wall as you enter the room. Overall, it's a decent location with positive aspects, but I'd rate it closer to 3½ stars.

"Friendly staff and clean, but a bit dated"
I toured this place and the staff was super nice and knew a lot. We were checking it out for my father-in-law. It looked a bit old but was clean and roomy. I think families should visit a few places before deciding.

"Excellent medical care and clean environment with daily activities"
I chose this place because they focus on medical care. My dad has diabetes, so I needed a place that meets his medical needs. Everything here is very clean and well-kept. There’s no bad smell. The staff is attentive, friendly, and quick to address any issues. They also offer activities like arts and crafts, field trips, exercise, and yoga. They have a daily activity calendar with something new every day. I highly recommend this place.

"A Mixed Experience at the Assisted Living Facility"
I brought my dad to this place because someone recommended it, and I needed to move him in quickly. Everyone is friendly, and the care is really good. The food is tasty, and the dining room feels like a restaurant. But there are some issues: the management isn't taking charge of the staff. Small things like missing menus on the dining tables, empty creamer and sugar containers, and my dad's name not being on his door after 2 months bother me. They only have one maintenance person, and the public bathroom is still broken. The door from my dad's room to the courtyard was also broken until recently. Plus, the head nurse said they don't handle open wounds, so they always send my dad to the hospital. Despite these problems, I still like this community and would recommend it to the right person.

"Poor care, frequent falls, lack of empathy, unprofessional staff."
My mom stayed in the memory care part for almost 10 months. At first, things were okay for a couple of months, but then they got really bad. They stopped making sure she was clean and her room started to smell bad. I asked many times for them to take care of these basic things, but nothing changed. The people who worked there left my mom sitting in a chair in the living room all day, every day. This made a spot on her head where her hair fell out and left a mark. In the last 7 months, she fell 8 times. They didn't do anything after any fall to stop her from falling again. The last fall made one side of her face bruised. The person who was supposed to make sure she was taken care of, named [Removed], never tried to make any changes to stop her from falling. He was rude, mean, and aggressive. I told the boss, [Removed], that I didn't feel like my mom was safe there anymore, but she still made us wait 30 days before we could leave. [Removed] didn't care about my mom's feelings. I wouldn't tell anyone to go there. I found a better place that cost less money.

"Cozy and Welcoming Assisted Living Facility with Friendly Staff"
The Brookdale Medical Center Kingsley was really nice. Everyone there was friendly and kind. The tour guide gave us lots of helpful information during our visit. The only thing we didn't like was that the place was smaller than we hoped for.

"Community Addresses Concerns Amid Changes"
The place is pretty clean, but our loved one's room only gets vacuumed, and the toilet hasn't been cleaned yet. The food was great when we arrived, but the menu has changed—maybe they lost their chef. The activities director does a good job getting our loved one involved. They're also listening to our concerns.
