"Friendly Staff and Great Food, Needs Better Housekeeping"
The staff here is really friendly and helpful. Housekeeping is okay, but sometimes you have to ask for things like vacuuming or mopping. They communicate well with families, but they could do better with residents who are mentally sharp to keep them fully informed. The move-in process was smooth, but in the first few weeks, the staff didn’t set up a reliable care schedule for things like toileting, showering, and dressing. They need to be more responsive to new residents’ needs. The food is great, and the chef listens to requests and gets to know what residents like and don’t like. Overall, I would recommend this place.

"Poor care and cleanliness, neglectful staff, limited mobility."
They don't clean up, my father-in-law got hurt. Long waits for help, dirty dining area, no outside time.

The director and staff always call me back and stay informed. Everything is going well. They accept both skilled nursing and memory care residents. I recommend this place.

"Ask Lots of Questions Before Choosing Brookdale Oakwell"
Our overall experience was not good. I would tell others to make sure they ask a lot of questions about the daily routine. Meet the doctor(s) who will be taking care of your loved one so you can ask questions about care and medication to make sure everything is given correctly. Based on our experience, I would not personally recommend Brookdale Oakwell.

"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living"
We chose this place because it's smaller and in a good location. They should work on following up with special services and taking care of the rooms and laundry. The new staff needs more training, but there are some great people here. I'd recommend it to other families.

If you're searching for care for your loved one, try chatting with other residents. The staff here is great with memory care patients and they keep families informed. It would be better if they paid more attention to keeping the rooms clean. Also, it'd be nice if they made sure the patients who have specific food preferences always have access to their preferred food.

"Great tour, too expensive and far."
I liked this community, but the price was too high for our needs. The tour was great, and they gave us all the information we needed. However, the location was too far away from where I wanted my loved one to be.

We took a virtual tour of this community, and it went well. The staff was really nice and helpful, and they answered all our questions. The cost was higher compared to other places we checked out.
