"Disappointing Experience at Assisted Living Facility"
The extra therapy we paid for was great, but overall care was lacking. Our family had to pull our loved one out early because of two hospital trips. Meals weren't healthy and caused constipation.

"Convenient Location, Friendly Staff at Juniper Village Assisted Living"
Juniper Village reminded us of another place we visited. The staff were really nice and helpful. It's a bit farther from our family than we'd prefer, though.

"Small, Rough Rooms: Juniper Village First Impressions Disappoint"
I visited Juniper Village at Preston Hollow and had a decent first look around. I saw that the rooms were pretty tiny and not very nice. It seemed like they turned an office building into apartments. We decided to pick a different place mostly because the rooms at Juniper Village weren't done up well.

"Mixed Experience at Juniper Village"
The therapy at Juniper Village was really great, super wonderful. But, the care services weren't so good. We understand they had trouble with having enough staff, but they took too long to respond.

There are fewer sitting areas, less dog-friendly, but the alcove room is great.

"Outstanding care with warm, compassionate staff for 7 years"
My mom has been at Brookdale for 7 years. Even though her health has declined, the care she receives has always been excellent. The staff connects with each person and goes above and beyond to help. They are warm and caring!

"Pleasant Experience at Autumn Oaks Assisted Living Facility"
We really like Autumn Oaks. It looks nice and clean. The staff are friendly and helpful. Because it's smaller, everyone knows each other. They have lots of activities. The food could be better. The new chef isn't as flexible with diets. They could offer more transportation options for doctor visits.

"Truly Blessed to Have Brookdale"
Our mother moved into Brookdale Preston 6 years ago, and we've been happy with every part of it. The positive energy, friendly people, layout, and caregivers have all been wonderful! This transition has been hard for us, but we feel truly blessed to have Brookdale.

"Classy facility with friendly staff and great activities"
My loved one lives here, and it's a wonderful place. We really love it. The staff is super nice, and the residents are friendly. I love the dining room; it's so classy and exactly what you want. The food is excellent with plenty of options. Everything is very clean, and housekeeping comes by once a week to tidy up. There are lots of activities like bingo, movie nights, and holiday events. I would recommend this place to others and even for myself.

"Great staff and amenities at Brookdale, but slow billing responses."
The people who work at Brookdale are really nice and they listen well. My dad seems to enjoy the food there and he has fun doing some of the activities. He's even starting to make friends, which is great. The place itself is kept really nice and clean. The only downside is that sometimes when we have questions about our bills, it takes a while for them to get back to us. Overall though, I would say this is a good place to live.

"Not a bad community"
This community is clean and nice. The staff are friendly and help my dad with his medicine and personal needs. They encourage him to eat in the dining room. His room is very small since it's a small community, but they do accommodate his special diet. However, it's a bit farther away than we'd like, so we might look for a closer community.

"Beyond Satisfied with Brookdale Preston Truly Amazing Experience!"
Brookdale Preston deserves more than 5 stars! I’m extremely happy with it. My sister loves being there and gets along well with everyone. Choosing this place for her has been one of my best decisions. During a recent visit, she didn’t even want to stay with us she was excited to join the other residents on their tour. We’re totally amazed and very satisfied with everything here.

"Super friendly and clean, just need better food options."
The staff at Brookdale Preston is super friendly and welcoming. They make an effort to learn the names of all the residents and their families. The facility is very clean, always looking nice and smelling fresh. All the residents seem really happy. One thing my mom has mentioned is that the food could be better. It used to be better before some recent changes, although it’s still good. Overall, it's been a wonderful experience and has exceeded our expectations.

"Couldn't Accommodate Mom's Oxygen Needs"
We wanted to stay here, everything was ready to start. But then they told us they couldn't manage my mom's oxygen. They're really kind, but a senior shouldn't have to swap their own tanks, they said only a nurse could. They were the only facility who said this, showing us some sort of paper to prove it, but they were the only one with this rule.

"Great care and clean environment at Emeritus!"
I think they do an awesome job at Emeritus at Preston! It’s a clean and nice-looking place, and the staff are really friendly and care about the residents’ needs. They treat each person as unique and figure out the best way to help them. My loved one was a bit of a shut-in, but they worked with him to get him involved in the community and activities. Now, he’s doing much better!

"Mom's happy with food and atmosphere, room for more activities."
Mom really likes the food here, and the place is always kept clean. The staff is nice too. But, I wish there were more types of activities, and they could happen more often. Overall, we picked it because of how it feels.

"Caring Staff Brighten Mom's Days in Memory Care"
I moved my mom from another place because it wasn't good for her. She went to Memory Care here and they loved her a lot, which was very important to me. While she was there, the person in charge of Memory Care left and there were fewer activities and some confusion (that's why I gave fewer stars in my other reviews) but even with all that, she was loved and taken care of very well. My mom died there, and in her last days many of the people who cared for her came in on their own time to see how she was and to say goodbye. Like with any place, you have to ask questions and check on things, but Emeritus was a wonderful help to us.

"Disappointed with forced Memory Care transition for mother, financial strain."
My mom's been living here since September 2011. They say they'll only keep her if she moves to Memory Care. We can't afford it right now.

"Good, But Could Improve Activities"
Emeritus Assisted Living is pretty good. Most of the workers are nice. They could have more activities, especially for people with dementia. It would be better if they had someone who focuses on activities for dementia patients. The food is good, and so is the laundry. Overall, I like Emeritus. It would be nice if staff who work with dementia patients got more specialized training. Ann, the director, works really hard, but she mostly deals with independent and assisted living residents.

"Unsatisfactory Experience Due to Limited Food and Care"
Our experience here was less than satisfactory. The food choice was really narrow, too much chicken to say the least. They also didn't receive the kind of care they anticipated on getting.

"Excellent care and staff"
My dad stayed in the Memory Care Unit at Emeritus at Preston for about a year. The staff was thoughtful and caring, and they took excellent care of him. We were so happy with his care that we moved my husband's mom into the same place. We expect she will be well cared for too.

"Location and Memory Care Unit Influence Decision"
I'd rate their food as a three. What's tricky is understanding the various care levels and ensuring they deliver as promised. Having a memory care unit was crucial, along with the convenient location.

"Very clean, friendly staff, impressive bedrooms—definitely considering it."
The place was very clean. I spoke with a couple in the parking lot who had great things to say. I also chatted with some residents and received positive feedback from them. The staff was super friendly and knew everyone’s name. I watched a brain activity session and was impressed. The bedrooms are nice and a bit larger than others I’ve seen. Overall, I was very impressed and it’s definitely on my list. I’m going back with my brother for him to check it out too.

"My mom is finally happy"
The staff at Emeritus always have time for questions from family. They really care about the residents living there, and there always seems to be an activity planned. Even if your older parent doesn't want to live in assisted living (like my mom), this place just seems to work!

"Feeling at ease with my loved one’s care here."
My loved one lives at Emeritus, and my experience has been very positive. They have really gone the extra mile to make her feel welcomed and involved. She’s mentioned that the food isn’t great, but I haven’t tried it myself. The staff is attentive and kind, and I’ve never had trouble reaching anyone. The place is clean, and activities are well organized. I feel at peace knowing my loved one is well cared for in a place with happy residents.

"Great Care, but Communication Needs Improvement"
I'm really happy with Emeritus wanting to "join" my loved one's "journey." The head nurse is knowledgeable and caring, and most of the workers I've talked to are kind and seem attentive. However, it's hard to reach the people in charge, and when I do get someone on the phone, they often can't tell me much. I hope they have more staff for caring for people than for responding to family members. So far, my loved one is doing well, although we've had a few problems in meeting certain needs.
