"Uncaring Assisted Living Facility with Unhelpful Insurance Claims Process"
This place was really bad and they weren't helpful when we decided to leave after just a month. My family member slipped, ultimately ending up in the hospital and no one from the facility bothered to follow up. They were so indifferent and it felt like they couldn't be bothered to get to know my relative. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. They also made it hard to submit our long-term care insurance claim...

"Hidden Costs and Services at Brookdale Assisted Living"
I visited Brookdale and was really pleased with it - the staff seemed great. Since I help care for my aging parents, I was eager to get them moved in. Even though the initial fees were pretty hefty, the monthly rent seemed ok. I signed the lease, but soon found out there were a bunch of things they didn't tell me. Turns out, their on-site medical team, who come around every week, doesn't work with my parents' insurance. Also, they don't provide insulin shots there. I was going to have to hire someone to come give the shots daily, which would cost an arm and a leg. This wasn't something we could afford, so I had no other option but to cancel everything. But guess what? Even after canceling, they still wanted money. They expected me to pay them an insane amount for a place we never even moved into or used. Total joke. My folks live on a tight budget and simply can't swing such an excessive sum. Be really cautious if you're considering this place. The staff might seem nice, but at the end of the day, it feels like they're just out to squeeze as much money as possible from vulnerable elderly folks.

"Mixed improvements but ongoing turnover and care issues persist."
The assisted living facility has seen some improvements and is expected to see more. However, there have been many changes in staff and management. There have been significant problems with "agency staff" and inconsistent care for residents. Based on my research, I think most facilities will face similar issues when using "Agency staff." There is a lack of direct service accountability.

"Positive tour experience; distant location a drawback."
Our family toured Brookdale in person and liked it, but it's too far away location-wise.

"Mixed experience at assisted living facility"
The place is nice, and the people are friendly. But, there's a problem with managing money. It took a while to know who to pay and how much. Sometimes, the amount changed, and it was confusing. Also, the room wasn't ready when we arrived. However, everyone else has been super helpful.

"Assisted Living Facility Needs Better Staff Communication and Consistency"
When we've visited, the food and activities seem good. But since we joined, lots of staff changed, and communication lacks.

"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living Facility"
Before you decide, check how stable the management is. The nurses and caregivers did an excellent job caring for our loved ones. Unfortunately, the food was unpleasant, and the meals were scarce. If the management issue improves, I’d recommend this facility.

"Great Food, Friendly Staff, and Cozy Community"
My mom loves the food and has even gained weight. She enjoys the activities and gets along well with the staff. The care is good. There has been a lot of staff turnover, but I hope it’s for the best. The building and apartments are very nice. I like the layout of her apartment, and she has a door leading to an outdoor enclosed courtyard, which is one of the reasons we chose this community. It’s a very quaint, smaller community, so she isn’t lost in the shuffle.

"Beautiful but Expensive Facility with Worn Patient Areas"
The facility is very big and beautiful. There is a Memory Care Unit in a smaller area at the back with a small courtyard. Our guide was very patient and gave us a lot of information. There are many worn areas and updates needed in the patient area, but the reception for families was, of course, exquisite. It felt pretty expensive for what was provided, but it's a beautiful place and perfect for some.
