"Disappointing Experience at Brookdale Assisted Living"

I didn't like Brookdale. Their workers weren't very good. The meals weren't good, even for dogs. The building had many problems, with water leaking often. The activities for residents seemed too childish. Most of the residents needed memory care. There was only one other resident my loved one could talk to.

"Caring Staff Goes Above and Beyond"

I want to give a shout-out to the maintenance man, the caregiver. Staff knows a lot and is always helpful whenever we need something. The staff works really hard, checks on us, and makes sure we’re okay. They’re awesome!

"Facility Review Summary"

Facility Needs Upgrades: The building is old and has plumbing and drainage issues. Ants and roaches are a problem. Limited Cleaning Services: Room cleaning only includes vacuuming the floor once a week. Friendly Staff: The staff is nice and friendly. Slow Emergency Response: When my mother fell, it took an hour for the staff to respond to the emergency pull cord. Okay Staff Overall: Staff performance is average. Poor Meals: The meals are subpar, and my mother had to buy her own food. Activities Geared Toward Memory Care: In-house activities are simple and cater to residents with mobility issues. Lack of Value: We decided to bring my mother home due to these issues.

"Friendly staff, high cost, but excellent hospice care."

All the staff members were very friendly, helpful, and professional, which we really appreciated. It is quite expensive, and there are extra fees at the start that surprised us. Their hospice group was excellent and took great care of her. Overall, we would recommend Brookdale to other families looking for a place.

"Warm and Friendly Community for Loved Ones"

This place was okay and would have been good for my loved one. I didn't have any problems, but I found another place that felt more like what I wanted.

"Mixed Feelings on Assisted Living Facility"

We picked Brookdale Tyler East because the staff seemed really nice and welcoming. They showed us around online, and we saw the outdoor area and inside the rooms, which gave us a good view of the place. They told me I could visit weekly as a care provider, which mattered to me. But then they changed nurses, and the new one said I couldn’t visit, which was confusing and upsetting because the rules kept changing. I think the staff should know the rules well and talk to each other about them. A few times, I wasn’t happy with how one worker treated my family member. Once, I stayed late and couldn’t find anyone to let me out. I tried calling for help and even reached out to the director, but no one got back to me, and it took 20 minutes to leave. Based on what happened, I wouldn’t suggest this place to others.

"Satisfied with Brookdale Tyler South Memory Care Facility"

My mom doesn't stay at Brookdale Tyler East, but at Brookdale Tyler South, a memory care place. I'm really happy with everything about this facility.

"Cozy Assisted Living, but a Bit Cramped"

The place is pleasant, and Jason is friendly and helpful, but it's too small.

"Great Assisted Living Facility!"

I chose this place for my mom because they offer services that others don’t. She enjoys it here, and the staff treats her well. Her room is big with a window overlooking the courtyard. I’d recommend it to other families.

"Clean, Friendly Assisted Living with Nursing Home Vibes"

I visited Brookdale Tyler East. The staff was nice and helpful. Although they didn't provide lunch, we toured the community. It was clean and odor-free, but it resembled a nursing home too much.

"A Heartwarming Transition: Grateful for Brooksdale Assisted Living"

Moving my mom to assisted living was really tough. I took care of her mostly alone since my brother didn't help. It was hard for both of us when I talked to her about it. She thought it meant a nursing home like her parents had, so she didn't want to go. She felt like we were abandoning her. My husband and I work long hours and couldn't give her the care she needs as she gets older and her health gets worse. But Brooksdale exceeded my hopes. Every staff member was kind to her and made her feel welcome. The other residents were also very friendly and made her feel at home. Now my mom wants to stay at Brooksdale forever! The people there—staff and residents alike—are so warm. It was a tough decision, but in less than a month, she loves her new life there. Everyone treats her so kindly and makes her feel special. It gives me peace of mind. I am so thankful to Brooksdale for helping us with this difficult situation! Thank you!

"Commendable facility, but inconvenient location for Longview residents."

Brookdale Tyler East is really nice and looks very pretty. The staff there are very friendly and polite. However, it's quite far for me since I live in Longview, and it doesn't fit my needs well.

"Well-Maintained Assisted Living with Extra Services"

This place takes residents to the store and brings in entertainers. The community is clean and neat. They have staff for physical therapy and medication administration. The chef cooks tasty food. It's a bit pricey, though.
