"Understaffed Assisted Living Fails Patients"

Finding parking is a nightmare—it can take 30 to 45 minutes just to snag a spot. Most of the staff are helpful, but there simply aren’t enough of them. During mealtime, aides are too busy with deliveries and feeding to offer any other assistance. Our social worker was pretty useless; she didn’t provide any guidance when we left. And as for physical therapy and occupational therapy, we were lucky if we got a total of two hours per week. Unfortunately, we weren’t the only ones facing this problem.

"Expensive and confusing layout made Brookdale Westlake tough to choose"

At Brookdale Westlake, two things made it tough for me. First, it was much more expensive than other places. Second, the layout was confusing. I kept getting lost, and my dad, who uses a walker, would get frustrated if he couldn't find things like the gym. At our new place, everything is on the first floor, including his apartment, which is much easier. The tour was good, and everyone was friendly. The guide showed me the activities person, and overall, it was nice, but I just felt lost.

"Mixed Feelings About Assisted Living"

The food tasted great, but it cost too much. The care offered was okay; I didn't need as much.
