"Warm and welcoming assisted living with caring staff and delicious food."
The staff is really nice, and the place feels like a home. The cooks are awesome with the older folks, and we enjoy the food a lot.

"Assisted Living Facility Faces Staffing Challenges"
The assisted living facility has friendly sales and marketing staff, but there have been issues with follow-through. Policies aren't consistently followed, and residents spend too much time sitting due to staffing shortages. Cameras in common areas would be beneficial.

"Mom is happy and well cared for"
Mom has settled in well and seems pretty happy. She wanted a private room, and they had one ready for her. The staff is friendly and takes great care of her. They try to get her involved in daily activities. The housekeeping keeps everything clean and tidy, and they even do her laundry. Mom says the food is good, and there are different options if she doesn't like what's served. There's a nice outdoor area she'll enjoy when the weather is nice. I would recommend this place.

"Assisted and Independent Living Options with Varied Activities Available"
I visited this place. It was really nice, but the location wasn't perfect. It's a big place, and I worried Mom might get lost finding the dining area. Everything was spread out, and the rooms they had were far for her. The person who showed us around was great, answered all my questions. They had lots of activities, even a big bingo game. The building is a bit old, but it seemed updated, and the apartments looked newly renovated. I liked that they offer both assisted and independent living.

"Amazing Community, Friendly Caregivers, and Great Location!"
When Hurricane Harvey hit, my parents had to leave quickly because of flooding. We reached out to A Place for Mom, and they were incredibly helpful. We already knew about Carriage Inn at Katy from a friend's recommendation. Everything happened fast, even the same day. This community is AMAZING—the caregivers are friendly and very attentive. My parents love the food so much that they eat there every day now. They used to eat out for every meal. They also enjoy the activities, and my mom plays the piano for everyone. The place is always clean, and the grounds are well-kept. I highly recommend this community. Plus, it’s just 4 minutes from our home!

"Friendly staff and easy-to-navigate building"
Made it to our top 3 choices. They have patio homes. The staff is really friendly. The main building has a square hallway, so residents won't get lost.

"Nice Staff, Needs Fresher Food and More Activities"
So far, I'm pretty happy with my life in this assisted living community. Everyone who works here is super nice and they've been doing their best to help me out with whatever I need. I think it's cool that we get to choose our own food from a menu, but I wish the vegetables were a bit fresher. They offer a handful of activities, but that could be better, along with the exercise equipment.

"A Great Place!"
It wasn't great when my parents' apartment wasn't completely clean when we moved them in. The community is getting remodeled, but we had some problems with the meals and the housekeeper. The menu didn't match what was shown, but after talking with the management, they fixed it. The staff responded well and were all very friendly. I'd even live there myself!

"Satisfied Dad at Carriage Inn: Good Food, Kind Staff"
My dad's really happy at Carriage Inn. He loves their fun trips and the staff's nice. Even though there's new owners, most of the staff stayed. They're doing a remodel, but it's planned well so it doesn't bother the residents much. The staff's super kind and helpful. Dad loves the yummy meals in the dining room. They keep everything clean and nice. I'd totally recommend this place!

"Neglect at Facility Despite Alert System, Decent Food"
My mom was left lying on the bathroom floor after she fell in the middle of the night. Their alert system mustn't be working properly. She even ended up with a broken fingernail from pushing the call button so much! She wasn't discovered until her personal care aide arrived to help her get dressed at seven the next morning. They couldn't show us any record of calls coming in that night. I sometimes question if they even maintain such a log. After this ordeal, we had to bide out the usual 60-day notice period before moving out. The food, however, was decent most of the times.

"Good Spot, Needs Repairs and Makeover"
This place is good, but it clearly needs regular repairs. Also, it looks like it's an older establishment that really needs a big makeover.

Enjoyed retirement section, but too much freedom for dad. Secure assisted living and memory care, no availability or prices.

"Kind Staff, Long Walks to Meals!"
The employees here were really nice when my family member and I first came. They took the time to show us around their community very thoroughly. However, my parents did have one problem. They thought that the distance from their apartment to the dining area was too far. Making that trip three times a day just didn't seem feasible.

"Great Assisted Living, But Too Expensive"
This place is a gated community with both independent and assisted living. I thought they focused more on assisted living. They were pricier than the place we picked. The tour guide was nice, and the community looked clean.

"Some Maintenance Concerns"
Carriage Inn at Katy is doing pretty well overall. They offer a lot of different activities. My only concern is that we’ve had some issues with maintenance. It’s not anything major, but it’s taken a long time to get things fixed. I’ve emailed them a list of things that need attention several times. Other than that, my mom has been really happy there. The staff and residents are all really friendly. Even though my mom is picky, she likes the food options they have.

"Decent Facility, Needs Improvement in Staff Friendliness and Communication"
I recently moved two family members into this facility. One moved into the memory care unit and the other into a self-care apartment. The apartment received fresh carpet, a new toilet seat, and a refrigerator. It offers a good amount of closet space and a warm feel. The building itself is old, but the corridors are kept tidy, although they're narrow and lack light. It could benefit from some modern redecorating. The dining space is clean and bright. There's a common room where they host activities. But, the activities are mainly card games and movie nights featuring older films. I've found some issues with the staff. Communication with the leasing agent is awful. She's never available or responsive to calls. The staff, especially the driver in the main building, isn't particularly friendly. I expect higher levels of hospitality towards the elderly residents and more extroverted personalities than what I've experienced. I don't receive greetings when I enter the communal area from the receptionist. The driver, who also works the reception, is a grumpy old man. On a brighter note, the dining room staff is more welcoming. The memory care unit is new and it seems they are still trying to sort issues with the staff. Communication with family needs improvement. The food at both locations is just average and the portions are small. Despite there being many similar residences in the area, this facility suited our budget.

"Great Experience at The Carriage Inn, Adjustment Phase Going Well"
My in-laws moved to The Carriage Inn about 2 weeks ago. They left their home of 32 years for a one-bedroom apartment here. They are still adjusting but find the place classy, clean, and bright. They like most of the meals, with only a few exceptions. The staff and residents are very friendly and welcoming. They’re starting to join some of the activities, and Fridays are their favorite! After lunch, there’s an ice cream social, followed by Happy Hour and live entertainment.

"A real blessing!"
I love this place! If I ever need assisted living, I hope I can afford to be here. It's wonderful! It's been perfect for my dad. It's been a real blessing for him. It's independent living, but you still feel supported. They have a chauffeur to take you to the store and doctor appointments. I eat there with him often, and the food is pretty good. He absolutely loves it! It's beautiful and the perfect place. The staff is super friendly. One night, the front desk called me because my dad was outside with a family they didn't recognize, selling his car. They wanted to make sure he was okay. They really pay attention. They also respect privacy a lot.

"Brought them here, setting not liked, dining far for dad"
I brought both of them here previously, they didn't enjoy the layout, the rooms are way too distant from the meal area and my dad can't walk that far.

"Affordable with Plenty of Activities"
We were thinking about choosing them, but when we checked, they didn't have any available spots right away. We appreciated that they provided transportation to church, and their pricing was reasonable. They offered more outings and activities compared to other places, and it was more affordable because they also had assisted living.

"Cozy 1200sf Cottage with Limo Service and More!"
Imagine a cozy 1200-square-foot cottage with a one-car garage, a covered carport, and a welcoming wrap-around porch. While there's no pool, residents can enjoy water classes and fishing at a nearby park. The dining room serves three meals a day, plus snacks whenever you'd like. And get this—the limo chauffeurs residents to shopping and doctor appointments! On campus, there are plenty of activities and classes, along with off-campus trips and outings. Oh, and don't forget the in-house movie theater. The only downside? It's a bit far from us, except for Glennloch Farms.
