Celeste Care of Horseshoe Bay

"Mixed Experience at Celeste Care"
My dad passed away in June. Celeste Care got bought by a company, and things changed since Dad stayed there. I liked the staff, but they had a lot of people leaving. The memory care director I relied on is gone now, which made me sad. Location mattered when we chose it for Dad. One thing bothered me: they always seemed short-staffed. Food quality varied based on who stayed."

"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living Facility"
If your loved one is bedridden or in a wheelchair, it's an okay place. My loved one wandered, and it seemed like they didn't pay much attention to that.

"Dirty Facility, Continued Search"
We looked at Celeste Care of Horseshoe Bay when searching for a place for our family member, among four others. It wasn't clean, so we kept looking.

"More Caregivers Needed for Great Experience at Celeste Care"
Overall, my dad had a great time at Celeste Care, and we’re really happy with our choice. Sometimes, though, they need more caregivers. Usually, there are 2 caregivers for the memory care residents, but occasionally there’s only 1. I think they should always have 3. The staff is friendly and takes good care of the residents, but they could use more help. My dad loves the meals, but sometimes the service is slow, and the meal options aren’t always great. As for activities, Wednesdays are awesome, but I wish there were more activities during the week.

"Avoid Celeste Care Horseshoe Bay: Poor Staff, Neglectful Environment"
Don't let your family member live at Celeste Care Horseshoe Bay assisted living or memory care. The people who work there aren't good to your loved one. The boss and the main nurse for medicine give medicine even when the doctor says not to, and they give night medicine during the day. We think the night workers might have hurt our family member. We wanted to see the videos from the cameras, but the boss didn't let us. The building needs fixing. We asked lots of times for the light on the ceiling in our family member's room to be fixed, but it never was. The sink in the bathroom had so much hard stuff on it that water couldn't come out. Our family member had to take lots of cold showers. They tell the residents to eat and stay in their rooms. Our family member started in assisted living and then had to go to Memory Care because the boss said they needed it. But don't be tricked, it's the same people working in both places. The best thing to do is to put your name on the waiting list for somewhere else!

"“Convenient Assisted Living with Tasty Food”"
Celeste Care meets my dad’s needs, but more staff would help. He enjoys the food and it’s convenient for family visits.

"“Dad Settles In”"
They take care of my dad pretty well, but they could use more staff. Dad mostly keeps to himself, but I think they encourage him to join activities. He likes the food because he asks for seconds! We picked Celeste Care because it’s close to our family and makes visiting easy.

"Cozy Care Home Offers Good Food and Friendly Staff!"
This community could use more staff, but the ones they have treat everyone well. The food is tasty, with a changing variety each month. It's a clean and small care home that I'd recommend to family and friends.

"Great Memory Care Unit with Excellent Staff and Comfort"
We have a friend who has been in the Memory Care unit for a bit over a month. So far, we’re really happy with how she’s being treated. She gets more attention here than she did at her old nursing home. The staff seems skilled and always ready to help. Spanish Trails was recommended to me by a resident’s daughter, who spoke very highly of it. The place is set up nicely for the residents' comfort and feels warm and welcoming.

"Caring Staff, Limited Outings"
Nice staff who care. They fix issues quickly. Food seems good, but Mom wants more. Only problem: not enough outings. Mom still enjoys going!

"Caring Staff and Good Food, Needs More Outings"
The staff here are really nice and take good care of us. If I ever have a problem, they fix it super quick. My mom tells me the food is so tasty that she wishes they'd give her more. But I do wish they'd plan more trips out. My mom loves getting out and about!

"Great Care, Minor Certification Concerns"
It’s going really well. The place is small, which is nice. The facility is super clean and well taken care of. The caregivers aren’t certified, but they’re very attentive. They have an RN during regular hours and on call. There’s also a physician’s assistant available. The administrator is fantastic. During the day, there’s a two-to-one caregiver ratio. The food quality is excellent. My only issue is the lack of CNA requirements.

"Small, clean facility with caring staff; lacks certified caregivers."
I really like this place. It's small and cozy, which is nice. Everything here is super clean and looks great. The people who take care of us aren't officially certified, but they're really good at their job. There's a nurse who's here during the day and even after hours if we need her. Plus, there's a physician's assistant who visits us. The person in charge is awesome. During the day, there are two caregivers for each of us, which feels good. The food they serve us is yummy too. Overall, it's pretty great here, but I wish they had certified caregivers.

"Moved my 92 y.o. dad here four months ago"
We moved my 92-year-old dad here four months ago after a bad experience at Gateway Gardens in Marble Falls. Spanish Trails is a beautiful, home-like facility with 16 residents and a laid-back feel. When you walk in, it feels like you just entered someone’s home. The owners are a wonderful, caring young couple who office on-site. The director also offices on-site and is a joy to work with. The caregivers are awesome, experienced, caring, and hard-working. The staff are actively involved to make sure residents get what they need. There have always been two caregivers on duty on the days I have visited. My dad gets the attention he needs for his daily activities, and the staff take extra time to encourage him to help himself. The meals are good and prepared by staff in the kitchen, just like at home. My dad is happy and thriving at Spanish Trails. It feels great to know he is being cared for in a loving environment. The owners have started building a memory care facility next door, so this is truly an aging-in-place facility. We are so glad we found this gem.
