"Good memory care with helpful therapy activities for residents"
This is a good memory care place, and I recommend it. They offer activities like physical therapy and occupational therapy, which are helpful for my loved one. Someone comes in to provide these services.

"Impressive facility with good care and competitive pricing"
This facility is really impressive. The marketing rep didn’t understand what I meant by “programming” until I explained it, but it looks like they do have it. The prices are fair, and the care seems to be top-notch.

"Let down by Poor Leadership at Nice Assisted Living Facility"
The workers are wonderful, but the folks in charge can't be trusted. There's absolutely no effort to engage with residents. There's a lack of communication regarding doctor's visits from the higher-ups. The rooms aren't cleaned on a regular basis, and the bathrooms are always unsanitary. I'm in the process of looking at different places. It's a shame, this is a nice establishment but it's let down by poor leadership.

"Disappointing Changes at Assisted Living Facility"
My mom had to leave this place because of new owners and management. At first, it was okay, but things got worse after the change. We had a nice director, but she's gone now. The new management doesn't communicate well with me. I wasn't told about any changes. The place looks nice and has a good layout. Before, the chefs made great meals, but now they're terrible. They don't offer healthy options. The community's structure is uncertain under new ownership.

"Management Change Leads to Decline in Assisted Living Facility"
I reluctantly had to shift my mom from this place after a change in ownership and management. Initially, I didn't have any complaints when she joined the community. But, things deteriorated post the management change. Initially, they had an excellent director, but she's not present anymore. Communication between the new bosses and me is almost non-existent. They didn't notify me about any adjustments being made. The place looks great, and I appreciated its layout. The previous management offered tasty and homely meals, but under the new bosses, the food quality is dismal. There aren't many healthy options being offered to the residents. The current status of the community is a bit uncertain due to the new ownership.

"Flat pricing, small operation, good for skilled nursing needs"
The price is the same for both mom and dad. It’s a bit pricey, but you won’t have extra costs for extras. It’s a smaller place with staff who are older. I’d think about this place if either parent needed more skilled nursing care.

"A Warm and Caring Place for Loved Ones to Thrive!"
My friend recently moved her husband into Colonial Gardens. It was a tough choice, but the executive director was really kind and helpful, giving us all the information we needed to decide. When we visited, the staff was friendly and knowledgeable, and the place felt welcoming and warm. Each resident has their own room, but they also encourage socializing, and the common areas are cozy and inviting. The outdoor space is beautifully landscaped and surrounded by a high privacy fence. They have a doctor who visits the facility and keeps in touch with families. The staff communicates with family members as much as they want, either directly or by phone. The food tastes like it’s homemade, and family and friends are welcome to join the residents for meals. If I ever need to find a place for a loved one, I hope Colonial Gardens will have room.

"Cozy Care"
The place feels cozy and welcoming, the food is tasty, and other patients appear happy. I think the care provided is excellent, although a couple more nurse assistants would be beneficial. Overall, the patient-to-assistant ratio isn't a significant issue.

"Caring staff, fair rates, older facility, under consideration"
I met the owner on Tuesday afternoon and was really impressed by her honest talk about dementia. She is the most caring person I've talked to. Their rates are affordable and, as promised, they don’t increase yearly. It’s $5200 a month. Their staff-to-resident ratio is a bit low at 11:1, compared to Sundance's 6:1. The facility is a bit older and has mechanical hospital beds, but it’s only about 7 miles away. It’s still being considered.

"Feels like home"
Colonial Gardens in Austin, TX feels like home—relaxing and comforting. They have a big shady courtyard with wheelchair-friendly trails. Meals are served hot in a large dining room. The aides are young, strong, friendly, and usually there when you need them. I’d recommend Colonial Gardens without a second thought.

"Home-Like Assisted Living with Caring Staff"
Colonial Gardens feels just like home. The spacious living area, beautiful grounds, and freshly painted rooms create a welcoming atmosphere. The caring nursing staff, responsive administrator, and polite support team make it a great choice. While Mom isn't a fan of the food, I'd still recommend this place for memory care.

"Warm and welcoming memory care facility with lovely surroundings."
Colonial Gardens feels just like home, with spacious common areas, beautiful grounds, and freshly painted rooms when Mom moved in. The nurses are caring, the administrator is attentive, and the staff are polite and dedicated. Although Mom isn't thrilled with the food, she's used to being pampered by my sister. Overall, it's a great place for anyone needing memory care in a loving environment.

"Assisted Living Facility Falls Short on Resident Engagement and Care"
My parent isn't included enough. When I visit, they're just watching TV. I never see planned activities. The stuff on the calendar isn't real activities, just snacks. Even though there are nice outdoor areas, residents hardly go out. They're not allowed in the yard alone. My parent wants more outdoor time. It's not fair to advertise outdoor spaces but not use them much. Many residents can't walk or talk, and they get most of the attention. Caregivers rarely interact with my parent unless I ask. Sometimes my parent isn't fully dressed or clean. Caregivers are nice but super busy doing everything. The place seems short on staff. They said staff eat with residents, but mostly they just help feed those who can't eat alone. Clothes go missing, and sometimes other people's clothes end up in my parent's closet. The bathroom is often messy with supplies everywhere and no toilet paper on the holder.

"Frustrations abound at Colonial Gardens Assisted Living Facility"
My parent isn't kept busy enough at Colonial Gardens assisted living. Each time I visit, my parent is always just watching TV. I've never seen any organized activities happening, even though I stop by quite a lot and at different times. The so-called activities on their monthly calendar aren't really engaging, they're more like snack-time. Even though they've got great outside areas, the staff seldom take the residents outdoors. My parent isn't allowed to go in the backyard alone, even though it's safe. Furthermore, a lot of the residents require more constant attention and it seems like those folks get all the focus. The caregivers never really interact with my parent unless I prompt them. Also, my parent is often not completely dressed and doesn't look well cared for. The staff are nice and they try to help, but they have too much to do including cleaning and caring for residents. The facility seems understaffed. They told me the staff eats meals with the residents, but it seems to me that's because quite a few residents need help eating. I've also noticed clothes going missing and other people's clothes in my parent's closet. And, the bathroom is often messy with unarranged supplies.

"Decent Alzheimer's Care Center"
This review is about a care center for folks with Alzheimer's. This is a pretty good place for people who are suffering from Alzheimer's disease. It's not the best I've seen, but it's definitely not the worst either. The staff tries their best in taking care of everyone's needs, but they seem to be somewhat undertrained for handling patients with advanced stages of this disease. The facility is kept clean and they have activities for the residents, which is nice. Decent food is provided but it's nothing to write home about. It's an average place overall, suitable for someone looking for a satisfactory Alzheimer's care center.
