"Not Quite the Right Fit"

Our tour at The Reserve at First Colony was okay. Nothing stood out, but it wasn't the right fit.

"Another community caught our attention more"

This community was good and the tour was nice. However, it wasn’t the right environment for our loved one. Another community caught our attention more.

"Loved One Prefers Independent Living After Assisted Living Tour"

This place was for people who need help living, but after visiting, we realized it wasn't right for my loved one. They really need to live on their own.

"Mixed Feelings Due to COVID Restrictions, Generally Recommended"

We picked Colonial Oaks because we liked how it looks, the nurses and staff, and where it's located, plus the cost. Most of my lower ratings are because of COVID since we can't see our family they're still locked down, so we can't visit. I'd say to others, make sure you know what you're signing up for it's a big choice and not always easy. Overall, I would suggest it to others who are looking.

"Great service, spacious rooms, and well-organized facility"

Colonial Oaks has been a great place, and we’ve had a nice experience. We chose this facility because they focus more on service than money. It also seemed more organized than other places we visited. The rooms here are really spacious. I would recommend it to others looking for a good place.

"Great Care, Small Space"

The staff here is really strong. The administration has over 15 years of experience at the facility, and the turnover rate is very low. The only issue I have is that the facility is smaller, and the room sizes are quite tight. Overall, it's a great community that delivers on its promise of quality care. I recommend this facility under normal circumstances.

"Clean and welcoming place with thoughtful apartment features."

During my visit, this place seemed really clean. I liked that they have split doors in the apartments, so you can open the top while keeping the bottom locked. The person who showed us around was friendly. We ended up choosing a newer community over this one.
