"Awful Food at Assisted Living Facility"
The rooms are big and tidy. The place is well-maintained, and they offer cable TV. But the food is terrible probably the worst I've had in my 77 years. It's so overcooked that it's practically devoid of nutrition. It's enough to make anyone feel sick.

"Assisted Living Facility Falls Short in Cleanliness and Communication"
The community seemed clean, but they didn't clean our loved one's apartment well. The staff were friendly, but they didn't always do what they said they would. They were short-staffed and couldn't keep up with basic cleaning. Sometimes our loved one was left in soiled depends for hours. The meals were good when they had a chef, but they started delivering them in a box, which wasn't good.

"Mixed Feelings About Assisted Living Facility"
Our family visited for a tour, and the sales team was nice. They made us think it would be perfect for our loved one. But, we saw less assisted living than we expected. It felt almost like it wasn't quite enough. The assisted living part seemed really old and not very nice, while the independent living part was new and bright with a good vibe.

Terrible experience for my spouse's mother. 60,000 a year is paid to these people and she gets poor help. The restroom help call button is frequently ignored. It is humiliating to soil yourself because a the staff ignores the call button. Terrible staff, and even worse management.

"Good Tour, But Room Too Small"
When we got there, the person we thought would give us the tour wasn't there anymore. But [name removed] found time for us and did a good job explaining everything about the facility and its services. The only problem was the size of the one-bedroom, which was a bit too small for my mom. We're planning to choose a different place.

"Awful Experience at Assisted Living Facility"
This place is just crawling with bed bugs! The staff treatment is absolutely terrible, right from the top boss to the lowest-level workers. Nobody ever speaks the truth! The people living there are always causing trouble to other residents. Not only that, they're constantly understaffed which means the good workers are overworked. It takes them forever to respond to calls - forget about 7 minutes, they take 27! One of the staff members told my dear one that the water was too cold to give a shower. Can you believe this went on for an entire week? They also double-diaper my loved one. I even had to hire a sitter just to ensure everything is done right. And don't get me started about (RSD) - I've tried getting in touch with him but he never returns my calls. On top of everything else, is just plain rude!

My parents live here, and recently my dad faced some health challenges. After a hospital stay, he went to a rehab community with multiple care levels, and they wanted him to stay. I considered it, but quickly realized that Elmcroft was home. The food is better, the staff is more attentive, and the community is cleaner. Since my parents moved here, there hasn't been a single outbreak, unlike other places they've lived. Over the past year, the team here has made amazing changes in my parents' lives with new programs and better staffing. The dining is fantastic—far better than anywhere else, with two trained chefs and skilled cooks. It's small but excellent. Kudos to the entire staff, especially the chef, for the great food.

This includes: - Emotional: Learning to handle life well and build satisfying relationships - Environmental: Enjoying pleasant, stimulating spaces that support our well-being - Financial: Feeling good about our current and future money situations - Intellectual: Finding creative ways to learn and grow - Occupational: Feeling satisfied and engaged with our work - Physical: Recognizing the need for exercise, healthy food, and rest - Social: Feeling connected and having a strong support system - Spiritual: Finding purpose and meaning in life Come visit us and experience it for yourself. We're so happy to call this place home.

"Pleasant Staff and Clean Rooms, Somewhat Overpowering Scent"
I visited this place when seeking a home for my Mom. The guide was pleasant and seemed to really know her stuff. She promptly answered each question I asked her. The resident rooms were tidy, and the people there looked okay. Yet, the place had a funny smell, like they used tons of air fresheners. "Insufficient Staff Negatively Impacting Resident Care at Elmcroft"
As someone who visits Elmcroft of Braeswood regularly (once or twice weekly for the last year), I've noticed that there's not enough staff a lot of the time. This results in poor cleanliness and lack of help for many residents with their personal care. There's a big problem with folks are quitting their jobs too quickly, and this includes the top bosses. I sometimes wonder how this place can pass state inspections and still get good reviews from and maybe other companies who advertise home care for older people. It was hard for me to write this review because I like everything else about Elmcroft. The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming but doesn't provide the level of personal care that each resident deserves and needs, and they are actually paying for. I've even visited my older relative who needs help with baths and have found him a week later still dirty, in the same bed sheets, and the same clothes and underwear he had on the week I saw him before.

"Wonderful staff who care and visit when you're sick"
I really love the staff here. When I was sick, everyone remembered me and that made me feel really good. The nurse even came to visit me, which made me feel even better. Thank you!

The place is smaller, with about 60 residents. Staff is very nice. I haven't eaten there. Good location for families.

"Great staff, fun activities, and a happy adjustment!"
My mother's move to Elmcroft has been great. We’re very happy so far. The community looks nice, is well-kept, and the housekeeping is good. The staff is kind, helpful, and always ready to assist. They offer fun activities like field trips, Zumba, and arts and crafts. It's nice to see her getting involved. She enjoys the food and seems to be adjusting well. I would recommend this place to family and friends.

"“A Very Nice Community!”"
I think Elmcroft of Braeswood does a good job overall. Even though I’m out of state, they keep me updated on how my loved one is doing. I appreciate that they send me pictures of Mom enjoying activities. Sometimes it’s a bit confusing to figure out who to contact when I check on Mom. The facility is bright, airy, and all on one level, which I like. I highly recommend this place!

"Caring and Helpful Staff"
We were going to move my mom into this place, but then we needed more care than they could give. The staff at Elmcroft were amazing and helped us adjust quickly. They were super helpful and kept helping us even after we knew my mom wouldn’t be staying there. Their extra efforts made me feel totally okay with trusting them with a loved one. If you’re looking for a place around here, definitely check them out. I think they really care.

""Friendly Jill can't Mask Pee Smell and Overpriced Rates""
Jill was friendly, but otherwise, I wasn't impressed with this place. The lobby and corridors to the resident rooms reeked of pee. Plus, the bathroom in the example apartment had an awful stench like a sewer. What they're asking for just doesn't match up to how it looks. The best part about the place is it's near TMC.

"Good Place but Needs Improvement with Medication Timing"
Elmcroft has been pretty good for my mom so far. It’s a single-story place with a nice open layout. They have everything the residents need, from facilities to resources. The only problem we’ve had is with getting my mom's medications on time, which hasn’t always happened. Other than that, it’s a good place.

"Great facility, but already committed elsewhere."
I would have chosen this place, but I had already signed papers for another facility by the time I saw this one and took a tour. It's a really nice place! Everything looked great, the rooms were lovely, and the residents I saw in the dining hall seemed happy. The staff is very friendly. The marketing person I spoke with, was happy to chat with me even though I was already set on another place, and he has kept in touch.

"Cleanliness Concerns but Attentive Staff at Elmcroft Assisted Living"
My dad's room isn't as clean as I'd like. Not Elmcroft's fault. Dad doesn't want cleaners. Rest of the place is tidy. Expensive but typical. Staff attentive to Dad. He's just not cooperating. Chose Elmcroft for its smaller size.

"Great Facility with Lovely Garden and a Perfect Atmosphere"
From what I've seen so far, this place is my favorite. It’s a smaller, one-story facility with a lovely garden area. Most importantly, I think the overall atmosphere fits my father's personality better.
