"Lackluster Tour Experience"

Our family took an in-person tour, and we believe the facility might have changed ownership recently, which could have impacted the tour. Unfortunately, it didn't leave the best impression. The staff wasn't very informative or knowledgeable.

"Disappointing Assisted Living Facility Lacks Proper Management and Care"

Do not bring your loved ones here. It might look nice outside, but inside isn't so good. They keep raising the rent, saying it's to pay employees more, but they can't keep good workers because they don't value them. When problems are reported about employees, management does nothing. I used to like this place when certain staff were here, but now it's just terrible. It's poorly managed by someone young who doesn't know how to run things.

"Clean, small community with good activities and decent value"

Overall, the place is very clean, and they’re repainting. My loved one’s room could be cleaned more often. They’re short on staff, but they try their best. The food could be better. The activities are great, and the value for the money is pretty good. It’s a smaller community and close to our home.

"Acceptable with staffing improvements."

I believe they should hire more staff to address the issues. Overall, it's okay considering the cost.

"Disappointing Experience at Sodalis Temple Assisted Living"

Sodalis Temple was really bad. The people who gave out meds were okay, but everyone else wasn't good. They didn't take good care of us and the food was yucky. The place was small, dark, and made us sad. It was too hot inside because their air conditioning was broken. The person who tried to sell us on it was nice, that's why we went. I learned that everywhere is having trouble finding enough workers. I don't know if they're trying to save money or just can't find enough people to help.

"Great food, friendly staff, minor transportation and staff issues"

My mom enjoys the food, and the staff is very nice. The head nurse is actively involved in the residents' care and works well with the weekly visiting physician. We appreciate that the care costs stay the same unless incontinence care is needed. The staff motivates my mom to join meals in the dining room, especially after she learned there’s a charge for room service. Although there was a bit of trouble with recent staff changes, things are better now. Keep in mind that transportation is only available on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and no one stays with the resident during appointments. They must call for a ride home, which can take a while. Overall, the place is very clean.

"Active Community with Courtyard Studios and Friendly Residents"

Wow, this place is super busy! They have a hair salon open on multiple days each week. There are four doors leading to the inner courtyard, but unfortunately, only the studios facing the courtyard have access. Good news, though—the shuttle service is available! And guess what? I saw the residents chatting and interacting with each other in a really clear way.

"Friendly and Clean Assisted Living Near Medical Center"

Elmcroft of Cottonwood is a really nice place located off Loop 636, close to Baylor Scott & White Medical Center. Even though it’s not the newest facility in Temple, you can tell the staff work hard to keep it nice. Everything looks clean and welcoming, and the rooms are big, comfy, and easy to get around. The staff I met were all super friendly and eager to help.

"B Community Good for Extra Help, Not So Fancy Though"

I took a look around this house for retired people when trying to find a home for my mom. It didn't really have a fancy feel like some of the other places I saw. It wasn't very pretty to look at either. I learned that there are two kinds of assisted living places you can choose from. The first kind, called Type A, is for people who want to be more on their own but need a little help now and then. The second kind, called Type B, is for folks who need more help. This place was a Type B and I think it would be good for people who need a whole lot more help. The people living there seemed very nice and they said really good things about living there. One thing though, when I checked this place out, there was a waiting list to get in.

"Review of Elmcroft of Cottonwood Temple, TX"

Elmcroft has always been one of my favorite places to recommend. I have a great relationship with the CRD and always refer people to them whenever I can.

"Friendly place with fun activities and great outings"

I really enjoy living here. Everyone is super friendly and helpful. We have lots of fun activities. They take us to local restaurants and other places we want to go. It’s not home, but it’s the next best thing.

"Top-Notch Care and Cleanliness!"

We are super impressed with this place! The staff are really nice and caring, and the building is kept very clean. Overall, we found this to be the best fit for my dad because of the location, size, and quality of care. This place is amazing!

"Tour Highlights Neglected Courtyard and Unfavourable Floor Plans"

The inside garden wasn't that good: they sure could tidy it up more. Stumbling over plant pots and seeing patches of earth where grass should be wasn't great. Also, the way they set up the apartments wasn't to my liking. Plus, it seemed like folks in wheelchairs might have a tough time getting around.

"A Friendly Community with Good Care and Value"

I visited this place and thought the staff was great. The room setup was good, but my mom preferred something larger. The menu looked good, but we didn’t try the food. The community seemed pleasant overall. We’d suggest this place to other families for its care and value.

"Stay away, lots of promise but poor delivery"

My mom or dad lived here for half a year, and the people who work here don't know what they're doing. They'll tell you everything you want to hear, but won't actually do it. They're really good at making things sound better than they are, and the food's just plain awful.

"Amazing Care and Fun Activities at Elmcroft in Temple, TX"

Elmcroft in Temple, TX is fantastic. The staff always responds quickly and truly cares about how our grandma is settling into her new home. She really enjoys all the activities and parties, and she loves getting dressed up and having fun with her new friends.

"Friendly and Well-Maintained Community"

I toured this place for my friend to see if it met her needs. The staff was kind and welcoming. Everything looked clean and well-kept. From what they showed me, everything seemed nice and tidy. Everyone was very friendly. We had a nice experience. This wasn't the right fit for my friend, though.

"The best choice for our mom’s care!"

We moved our mom here a few months ago, and it was the best decision we could have made as a family. The staff is super warm and friendly, making us feel welcome right from the start. They are well-trained and really care about the elderly. There’s even a full-time nurse and a doctor who visits every week. In no time, the staff had our mom active with exercises, joining activities, and being very social. They offer a lot of activities (way more than just BINGO). She also goes out to eat and shops often. The other residents are happy and very friendly. The food is great, and the nursing staff is well-trained and goes above and beyond in their care. We’re telling all our friends that Elmcroft is the best place for their parents!

"Elmcroft of Cottonwood: Don't recommend for now."

When my folks first got to Elmcroft of Cottonwood, it was all good. But now? Not so much. They don't even have someone for kitchen duty and the meals are just bad. My dad can't stand to eat it. They're struggling to get people to work there. One time, I saw my usually strong mom crying in the hall. Then, we discovered three bugs in my folk's room and that's terrible. For now, I wouldn't tell anyone to consider this place. I truly hope they step up and make things better soon.

"Great Place, But Pricey"

Elmcroft of Cottonwood costs a lot, but it’s the best one I’ve seen. The location is nice, and the setup is good too. It’s been a good experience, but it’s just pricey. Now I know how much it will cost when I need it, especially if you don’t have a plan.

"Top-Notch Assisted Living Facility"

The med-techs are really good. Everything here is way better than when my grandmother was in assisted living six years ago. I have no complaints at all about this place.

"Mom is happy and settling in well"

My mom is really happy and doing well at Elmcroft of Cottonwood. There were a few problems when we first moved her in, like the room layout, who she was sharing it with, and a few other things. But everything got sorted out in the end, and she’s doing great now.

"Nice looking place, overall"

We toured this community while checking out care options for a loved one. Overall, it seemed like a very nice place! The staff we met were friendly, and the facility was clean and well-maintained. It's definitely worth a look if you're considering senior care in the area!

"Decent but Old Facility, Considering as Back-up Option"

I visited the place and talked to the activities director during the weekend; my main contact didn't get any information about our meeting. The establishment itself seemed well-kept but it’s a bit worn out and too big for what I was hoping for my mother. I'm keeping it as an alternative option...

"Very nice place!"

My family member has been living here for a few months, and it's been a positive experience. The staff is friendly and has helped us with many care-related matters. They collaborated with us and the doctor to adjust her medication. Since moving here, her health has significantly improved, and she's even gained weight for the first time in years! The food is delicious, and she now gets three regular meals a day.

I had a fantastic visit to this facility. The tour was excellent, and the staff I met were wonderful. My father will be the one to make the final decision.
