"Great People and Value at Garden Estates Assisted Living"
At Garden Estates, we noticed right away how great the people are. They're super friendly and excellent. Although our loved one didn't join in the activities much, there are lots of options for residents. We think it's a really good deal for the cost. Based on our experience, we would suggest this community to other families looking for a place for their loved ones.

"Mixed Experience with Garden Estates"
We picked Garden Estates of Corpus Christi because the director was super helpful and friendly. The room she got for us was really nice. But later on, there weren't enough staff for the residents, which affected the care quality. Still, I'd recommend it—just make sure to talk to

"Assisted Living Facility Falls Short of Expectations"
We really liked Garden Estates at first. Everybody there, from the front desk to the dining hall workers and cleaners, was super friendly. When my mom moved in, they told us to use aides from their approved list for her care, and the one we got was great! But then, when she had a couple of falls, we needed extra help on Sundays and at night. We hired aides from their list, thinking they'd be good too, but they weren't. When my mom fell and broke her arm, they didn't handle it well at all. They just picked her up, put her in her chair, and left her alone. They didn't even tell me about it—I found out by reading their notes. I complained to the boss, but nothing changed. I had to keep going back to get my mom's stuff, and the same untrained aides are still there. I just hope nobody else gets hurt because of them.

"Care Quality Concerns at Garden Estates"
When we started at Garden Estates, we were really happy. Everyone, from the people at the front desk to the dinner staff and cleaners, was so friendly. When my mom signed up to live there, we were told that we had to use helpers off the Garden Estates List. They told us that those helpers had been checked out and were good for taking care of people who lived there. Mom's helper during the week was amazing! We loved the way she took care of Mom. But after Mom fell a couple of times, we needed someone to take care of her at night and on Sundays. We chose a caregiver and her helpers from the recommended list. Those helpers weren't trained well. When Mom fell and broke her arm, they just picked her up, put her in her chair, and left her all alone. They didn't even tell me about it, I found out by reading their notes. I told the boss about it but she didn't seem to care. I went back multiple times to get Mom's stuff and that same helper and her team are still working there. I hope no other person living there gets hurt because they don't know what they're doing.

"Dad is enjoying his new home"
I’m really happy with my choice of this community. The building is clean and in a great area. The staff is friendly and knows everyone by name. My loved one is enjoying his time here, and the food is good with three meals a day. They clean his room every Tuesday. He has a friend who helps with laundry, or he can pay a little extra if he wants someone else to handle it. He wanted to leave Dallas, and we’re very pleased with this place. I’d definitely recommend it.

"Management Prioritizes Company Over Residents at Garden Estates"
At Garden Estates, where I live, I can tell you from personal experience, whenever any issue comes up that could impact the residents, the first response is always in favor of the company. As far as the residents are concerned, they don't seem to really matter. The only good thing about this place is that the rooms are currently decent, but the quality of the food is really, really bad.

"Poor Living Conditions and Greed Over Compassion"
I took my Dad away from this place due to their awful care. Dad always griped about the terrible meals. The staff promised to improve things, but never did. They took over a year and never seem to move an inch. Apparently, money is more important to them. Spare yourself from the regret and don't send your dear ones here!!!

"Great Place for Mom"
Things are going well for mom at this place. We have extra help coming in, and they work closely with the community. I have good communication with them. The food is good and healthy, and you can see what you're eating. The chef meets with the residents every month to get their ideas. They use fresh produce from the area. The staff are encouraging, and mom feels like part of the family. I would recommend checking out this place.

"Friendly Faces and Great Activities Await You!"
The people at Garden Estates are super friendly. By my second day, almost half the residents had already said hello and remembered my name. Everyone is always smiling and greeting both newcomers and other residents. The place is very clean. Housekeepers tidy up all the public areas every morning, and each apartment gets cleaned once a week. The food is really good, and they try to accommodate special dietary needs if possible. There are activities for everyone, including those in wheelchairs or scooters. The director makes sure everyone feels included and welcome at all events.

"Watch Out - Disappointing Assisted Living Facility Experience"
My mom stayed here and it was just awful. They did not provide the help they said they would and the staff wasn't nice. It's like they cared more about the money they got from the residents than the residents themselves. They said a lot of nice things before we moved in, but after moving in, things weren't as nice. If you tell them what's wrong, they act like they will fix it but they never really do. A lot of people living here don't like the food, and even though they have a meeting to talk about problems, nothing really changes. They say the company who gives them the food is the issue but they aren't trying to make any changes. It was super annoying and not worth the money. I wouldn't suggest anyone to go here. Be aware before you decide on this place.

"Took a Tour!"
I visited a couple of places, including Garden Estates. The facility seemed nice, and the people were friendly during the tour. However, it didn't meet our needs.

"Mixed Impressions: Decor Lacks, Staff Shines at Assisted Living"
I've visited a few times. At first, the place didn't seem welcoming because of its decor. But the folks on the phone were nice and helpful. During the tour and lunch with residents, I felt better about it. They should spruce up the place though. It's affordable, and they don't raise prices every year. The maintenance team is fantastic, and the staff is loyal and friendly. They offer both assisted and independent living but share dining spaces, so it feels more like a nursing home. Some residents have complaints about the food, and there's been turnover. But they're getting a new chef soon. Everything runs on a strict schedule, which might be tough if you're not used to it.

"Great Facility"
Gae really stood out at the facility! She was friendly, informative, and knew everyone's names. We were researching care centers in Corpus Christi, and if our mom needed a center today, Garden Estates would be our top pick. The tour was fantastic!

"**"Impressed at Garden Estates"**"
My 89-year-old mom has always been really independent, but now we're worried about her safety. She can't drive anymore and needs help with meals, light housekeeping, and medication. So, my sisters and I have been looking for a good retirement community where she'll be supported and, most importantly, happy and safe. We discovered Garden Estates online and set up an appointment with Gae Strenge to visit the place. Wow! It's an amazing facility—beautiful, bright, and super clean! The residents are active, always smiling, and seem really happy. They even told me how great the food is and raved about the facilities. And Gae? She's outstanding! She knows so much, is patient, supportive, warm, and just wonderful. We've checked out several places, but Garden Estates is right at the top of our list. The only downside is that it's farther away than we'd like for Mom.

"Wonderful First Impressions Lead to Quick Move Thanks to Gae!"
We first visited Garden Estates of Corpus Christi on Sunday, Feb. 23, 2014. My husband and I thought our longtime dear friend [removed] might be ready for a Senior Retirement facility. She was very set on staying in her own home, but after church, she agreed to check out a few places with us. After seeing three facilities and still being unsure, we decided to visit one more: Garden Estates. It was late afternoon, and we didn’t expect anyone to be available to give us a tour. But when we walked in and asked for one, we were in for a treat. The next hour was amazing! Gae Strenge greeted us warmly and took the time to get to know Nancy before showing us around. In just a few minutes, we all felt like old friends. She showed us several apartments and explained everything about the facility. As we walked through the main lobby and hallways, we saw many residents whose faces lit up when they saw Gae. She knew everyone by name and introduced us to them. Gae, along with Janet at the front desk and the residents, made us feel very welcome. We stayed for two hours, enjoying coffee and scones. Gae even invited us back the next day for lunch and to discuss any details. As we left, Nancy said, “I like THIS place!” When we asked what she liked most, she said, “Gae Strenge!” It’s clear that Gae Strenge is a superstar! My husband, who used to run a hospital, said he would hire Gae in a heartbeat if he could. In less than two weeks, Nancy had moved in and was comfortably settled. She has been there for seven days now, and she’s happy and comfortable. The transition was smooth, and the staff has done everything to make her feel at home. She’s joining in activities and enjoying the lovely environment and delicious meals.

"Mediocre Assisted Living Facility Didn't Wow Us"
We checked out this assisted living facility as a potential place for Mom. To be honest, we didn’t really like it. The apartments weren't great and the location wasn't either. However, to be fair, Mom had already found another place she really liked, so she wasn’t too excited about looking at other options.

"Good Service, But No Garden Area at Assisted Living Facility"
This place was alright, but there wasn't a garden that my mom would have loved. Gae was too busy to help us, but Joel handled everything perfectly. Gae got back to us later, telling us about another place we hadn't seen yet.

"Concern Over Full Kitchen in Costly, Less Spacious Facility"
The place wasn't as tidy as expected. The hall carpets were marked with stains and seemed old. The apartment I checked out was similar to what my father-in-law currently has, but it was smaller and slightly pricier. My biggest worry was its fully-equipped kitchen - it just didn't sit right with me, the thought of my father-in-law having access to a stove.
