"Inconsistent care, great activities."

My mom lived at HarborChase for 18 months. They miss advertised services. Limited care, but great activity director.

"Not quite homey; more like a hotel."

Harbor Chase is pretty, but the staff felt distant. It's big and hotel-like, not cozy.

"Nice Place, But Needs Better Management"

We like the location because it's close to our family and the community is new. It’s beautifully decorated, very clean, and the staff members are friendly. However, they need to improve their leadership team. It was quite dysfunctional from the beginning, including the initial move-in, the billing department, and the maintenance team. They have also had a lot of staff turnover.

"Comfortable Assisted Living with Communication Excellence"

We picked HarborChase of Southlake because of our positive past experience. The rooms are spacious, and communication is excellent. The food quality changed when our loved one moved to memory care. Overall, it's a lovely, comfortable place.

"Harbor Chase Southlake Falls Short: Disappointing Decline in Care"

Choosing a place for a parent to live when they need help is a big deal. Picking Harbor Chase Southlake was really hard. If I had reviewed it when my mom moved in, I would've given it five stars. But now, it's not the same. At first, everything was great. The place was new, clean, and run by pros. The staff were amazing, and they really helped my mom. But then, the top bosses changed, and things went downhill fast. The new bosses stayed in their offices and didn't care much about us. Lots of good workers left, and the new ones weren't as good. They didn't talk to us much either. This was happening even before the quarantine. I tried to tell the company, but they didn't listen. I even heard they didn't care about complaints because they were making money. After my mom passed away, things got worse. The company didn't even care then. We trusted Harbor Chase with our mom, thinking they cared about people more than money. But now, I'm done with them. I hope others can learn from what happened to us.

""Poor management and lack of compassion at Harbor Chase.""

My mom moved into Harbor. Back then, it was a brand-new place, with a great Director and patient care head. However, things changed when new management took over. They fired so many staff who had built great relationships with the residents just to cut costs during the hiring process. We had a camera in Mom's apartment for monitoring visits, especially during the Covid outbreak. We often had to request they wake, dress, and feed Mom, even though it was part of what she paid for. The Director doesn't know any of the residents by name and shows zero concern about it. When Mom passed away, their lack of care during her final days was unfathomable. What's more, they charged us daily for keeping her stuff in her room after she was gone. By the time we moved all of her stuff out, all that was left were oxygen tanks, yet they continued to charge us for another five days just because they wouldn't store the tanks until the gas company could collect them. We sent a letter to the company's President and other high-ranking officials, but got no response. The whole ordeal was never about the money, but their complete lack of empathy and unwillingness to listen. Most high-level executives strive to protect their reputation, but clearly, this isn't the case here. Southlake is a small, wealthy community where word travels fast. Thus, businesses can either flourish or fail based on their service. Only time will tell Harbor Chase's fate.

"New management improves care and activities at Harborchase"

I would definitely recommend Harborchase, a very nice senior property. With new management, the quality of care has really improved, and the activities have gotten better too.

"Assisted Living Facility Needs Urgent Improvements"

The memory unit has problems. Residents aren't checked regularly, laundry isn't done, and staff needs improvement. Management ignores concerns. More staff and better training needed.

"Assisted Living Facility Needs Improvement"

This place used to be better, but now things aren't as good. There are new staff members, and it's causing issues. In the area where we wash clothes, there's only one washer and dryer for 30 people, and they keep saying they'll add more but they haven't. There aren't enough caregivers for the number of residents, especially during meals. The building looks nice, but it doesn't match how good the facility is.

"Beautiful New Assisted Living Facility Too Fancy for Some Families"

This place is really pretty and it's all new. But it's kinda too fancy and really big for my mom. The outdoor area is super nice though.

"A Four Seasons Experience"

I’ve visited many assisted living facilities over the past 7 years, but I never thought one could feel so different from the rest. This place is like a “Four Seasons Resort” compared to the “Best Western” experience we had before. It’s a top-notch choice, and the benefits here are way better than anything I’ve ever seen.

"Great for younger, active residents"

I toured this facility while searching for a place for my mother. The community is large and beautiful. I visited several times, and the person who gave me the tour was very sweet. It's a new facility, and if she didn't know the answer to one of my questions, she followed up with me later. However, this community is better suited for younger, more active people. I didn't choose it because it didn't fit our needs, but I would recommend it to other families.
