"Clean and Nice, But Needs Better Communication"
Overall, I think they do a really good job. The place is clean and very nice. Like everywhere else, they’ve been a bit short-staffed, which makes things tough. I wish they communicated better with the family. It’s also not always clear who to call for what. But overall, we’re pleased and happy with our choice.

"Overall feedback: Mixed experience."
The staff and leaders at Discovery Village are great, but the nurses and cleaning crew need improvement. Sometimes my loved one's room smelled bad and was dirty. I shouldn't have to report issues to top management. Quality checks are necessary. They charge for meal delivery, which seems petty. Overall, I want better quality checks.

"Nice facility, but a bit over budget for mom"
This is a really nice place. It’s organized and clean. The people living there seemed really happy, and Kathy was great at answering all our questions. The only problem we found was that it was a bit too expensive for mom’s budget. We’re going to keep it in mind as a possible option.

"Great Care and Kind Staff at Watermere Assisted Living"
Watermere is the best assisted living place in the Southlake, Grapevine/Keller/Colleyville area. While no place is perfect and staff turnover is common in this industry, Watermere’s staff is very kind and caring. They really work hard to take good care of the residents. It’s a nice facility, and they did a wonderful job looking after our mom.

"Always Goes the Extra Mile"
After my mom received a neuropsychiatric diagnosis and couldn’t live independently anymore, I had just 3-4 days to find an assisted living facility. Watermere made the choice easy. The staff, activities, apartments, and care are unmatched. Now, three weeks later, I’m still amazed at how much they do for my mom. She’s so happy here, after feeling lonely and depressed elsewhere. Watermere treats her like a queen, always going the extra mile. They focus on her health, with one nurse for every seven residents and on-site physicians. I’m well-informed, and any concerns are resolved quickly. I recommend Watermere wholeheartedly.

"A Loving Home for All!"
Wow, we really love this place! It has everything we need for our family members. The staff is great, made sure we had everything we needed and more. Watching the interactions between residents and staff was heartwarming. The place is clean, smells good, and offers lots of choices for residents. Everyone seems relaxed and happy. No complaints here—it feels like home! Both the assisted living and memory care sides are comfy and well-designed. Our family would be just as happy here as they deserve.

"Staff is excellent and the facility feels like home"
I chose this place for my mom because of the amazing staff. They are always on top of things and quickly handle any issues. When my mom moved in, they made sure she was introduced to everyone and got involved in the community. The staff knows everyone's name and really goes the extra mile. The building is clean, nicely decorated, and feels like a cozy lodge. My mom cares a lot about food, and the residents can even talk to the chef about what they like or don’t like. They have plenty of activities like movies, bingo, live shows, art classes, and trips to restaurants. I would definitely suggest this place to other families.

"Everything is clean and Mom is well fed"
My mom lives here. The place is clean, nurses are great, and Mom likes her roommate. She gets good food, constant care, and it doesn't feel like a nursing home. They offer activities like painting, church services, and singing. Her room is always tidy. Meals have two options. Friendly staff, and Mom even gets her hair done. They encourage socializing, which is crucial for people with dementia. I recommend them.

"Friendly staff, but Memory Area felt isolated and inactive"
The staff was all nice, and I would consider them if things change. I felt the Memory Area was more confined and separate from everyone else. Some residents were just sitting around, and I didn’t see many activities. The person who gave me the tour was knowledgeable and nice.

"Amazing Care and Support at Watermere Assisted Living Facility"
Watermere is an exceptional place with great management and staff. My mom was the first resident in their Memory Care Unit, and the care she got was fantastic. Everyone from Hospice to the Memory Care team was wonderful. After my mom passed away, my dad sold his house and moved into the Assisted Living section at Watermere. He’s really happy there now and feels right at home! The Watermere team helped us with everything, from estate sale referrals to moving. My dad loves the staff and the activities available. I hope the same caring team is there when I might need this facility in the future. I love them.

My mother’s move to this community has gone really well. The staff is excellent, and she enjoys their company a lot. There are fun activities available, and she’s joined in on a few. "Isle at Watermere: Beautiful, Caring, and the Whole Package"
My mother has been living at Isle at Watermere for a few weeks now. After checking out many places, my sister, husband, and I picked Watermere because it had everything we wanted. The place is beautiful, clean, and well-kept. The staff is professional, friendly, and caring. The food is top-notch, and the staff there is great. Every person we've met, from the receptionist to the nurses, aides, housekeepers, and servers, has been friendly to families and loving to the residents. Even though my mother has only been there for a short time, we feel we made the right choice for our family.

"Neglectful Assisted Living Facility Ignores Dangerous Trip Hazard"
My biggest gripe with Watermere is the neglect towards a dangerous tripping hazard in the dining room. Mom has fallen multiple times because of it, the last time even breaking her hip. Despite knowing about it from reports by Home Health Care, they've done nothing to fix the issue. The problem? A large bump where the dining room’s rug meets the tile floor. They haven't replaced the hazardous bump with a safer ramp strip from local hardware stores. To make matters worse, Mom’s cries for assistance often go ignored. She has dementia and staff mistakenly assume her calls for help are nonsensical. That left her stuck on the floor for hours in her own waste after a fall on her way to the bathroom once. Residents used to have a call button pendant to alert staff when they needed help. But they've taken away this lifeline for those in the mental care unit, leaving them helpless. Mom's insurance keeps asking if I'll sue Watermere for elder-care negligence. But shouldn’t that be the insurance company's responsibility? I just want a safe environment for my mom.

"Disgusting Hygiene Habits of Waitstaff"
I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw two waitstaff coughing and sneezing while I was visiting my mom. To top it off, one of them walked out of the kitchen and started wiping their nose with a tissue right then and there - and dropped it in the garbage! After that, they just started picking up dishes and went back into the kitchen. And they had the nerve to give someone else their food! Seriously???

""Awesome place, not so awesome management""
The new managers here lately aren't doing a great job for the people living there. The main manager went around taking pictures in the pretty dining room on Mother's Day, but I didn't see him talk to any of the residents or their families. Nobody wants to take the fall for the problems that are happening, but the managers are quick to blame others. The actual building and the rooms are really good, and there isn't a better place around here, but the folks running the place could do much better.

"Dire Staffing Situation at Isle of Watermere Unacceptable"
I visited my family at the Isle of Watermere on August 22, 2016. It was concerning to find out that a kitchen server had left the job and only one staff member was trying to get everything done along with a few others who weren't officially staff. I heard residents questioning the sudden departure of the new chef around 5pm. The front office administrators were nowhere to be found by this hour, leaving just one server and a couple of others to manage. Why is it so tough for Watermere to employ good staff? Lack of servers and only two CNAs is no way to run a high-end assisted living facility, especially considering the substantial amount my family pays to live there. How can the staff be so indifferent? If their loved ones resided there, they would be furious. Something must change. The state of the establishment on that Monday was the most pitiful I've seen. Residents had to wait over an hour just to get their dinner. This is completely unacceptable!

"Continual Staff Changes Disrupt Service at Assisted Living Facility"
In general, the Isle at Wateremere has not really met our hopes for the "best in senior living." A lot of this disappointment comes from shaky leadership and how it has affected consistent, high-quality care. My folks lived there for four years; Mom is still in an assisted living area and Dad was in the Memory Care unit until he passed last fall. In their four years there, the top leader of the place has swapped out four times and there's been a lot of other staff changes. We've voiced our worries to Integrated Senior Living, the firm that supervises some Watermere spots, but we didn't get a good explanation about why the changes happen so much. Last year, 2015, we actually thought things were getting better under a new boss, so we even wrote a nice review when the Watermere ad person asked. But then in the beginning of this year, the top leader got fired in January, and then the Health Director quit, along with the person who runs the dining room and meals. Just like before, these sudden changes messed up the usual day-to-day service. The constant changes in management have affected everything, from how medicines are given out to food service in the dining area. Now, to be fair, there have been some really good people that have balanced out the shaky leadership - some are still there and some have left. Just, from this experience, we've found out that we have to stay on top of our parents' stuff while they're at Watermere, and it hasn't delivered on its promise to be "the best in senior living.

"Management Prioritizes Profits Over People at Watermere"
This place recently got a whole new look with new furniture and decorations. It could be they spent a lot of money that could have been used to increase the workers' pay. This might have stopped so many of them from leaving. Most of the people who run the place are nice and kind. There's been a new boss every year for a while. The current one isn't really friendly, but might know how to handle money well. The food is good, but they can't keep the waiters for long, and it often takes forever to be served. They offer a bunch of activities that people seem to like. The help given is OK, but you usually have to ask more than once to get what you need. For people who need help getting to meals, it can take a while because there are so many people and not enough helpers. The building is pretty nice and the furniture is good, but there are too many people for the workers to take best care of. The new boss wants every room to be filled, but they already struggle with the number of people. It's as if making money matters more here. Other places are cheaper and might be better. This place is one of the priciest in the area, and it's not really worth it compared to the others. The workers do seem to care about the people living here though. All these problems could be fixed if the company that owns this place stopped wasting money on things like fancy furniture and found a boss who cared more about the people than the money.

"Great care and attentive staff make Watermere a top choice"
My mom moved into Watermere in December 2015. Thanks to the kind and caring staff, she’s able to go back home now. She’ll miss the residents, staff, and even the food. What makes Watermere special is how they listen to residents and families. They have monthly meetings to address concerns and make changes based on feedback. The facility is in Southlake, close to churches, great shopping, and fun places for families to visit. They’ve had some staff changes recently, but it seems like these changes are improvements. We hope mom never needs another facility, but if she does, we’d definitely return to Watermere.

"Continued Positive Changes Noticed"
Our family moved our once active parents to Watermere when they needed living assistance. We wanted a facility near at least one family member that we could trust to keep us all informed and connected. It’s hard to change from an independent lifestyle, but our parents accepted it, and the staff at Watermere made the transition comfortable and pretty smooth. There were a few changes in the administrative staff during the first two years, which caused some confusion between our expectations and Watermere’s business model. But one thing we always felt from Watermere was a sincere effort. When we had concerns, the administrative management and staff tried to fix the issue or explain the policy limitations. Open dialogue and communication have always been encouraged, and we've used that to supervise our parents' needs as part of our involvement. Recently, our father’s sudden decline and passing highlighted the strong leadership Watermere now has with their new upper management. They counseled us honestly and sensitively about our father’s condition and provided options that fit our scattered family’s needs. Watermere’s experienced feedback, suggestions, and physical assistance made a very difficult time more bearable and strengthened our family bond because we felt confident in our choices. Continued communication between Watermere and our family has helped create a caring environment for our mother. The comfort that gives us is invaluable, and we greatly appreciate the sensitivity Watermere showed after our father’s passing.

"Great activities and involvement, but communication could improve"
We really like Isle At Watermere. They offer many activities, and the activity director makes sure everyone participates and doesn’t just stay in their apartment. However, I wish they would let me know about important things ahead of time. For example, they didn’t tell me when she was almost out of glucometer sticks until there was only one left. I hope they can improve on this. Besides that, I am very happy with the facility.

"Compassionate Staff Provides Great Care for Parents in Need"
A year ago, I started looking for a place for my parents, both in their 90s, where they could be together. I wanted a place where my mom could be a wife again and not just a caregiver for my dad. Mindy showed us so much kindness and helped us find the perfect room arrangement that gave my dad the care he needed while allowing my mom some safety and independence. After visiting several memory care facilities in the DFW area, I would end up crying in the car. But Watermere felt like a warm, homey place that was just right. It allowed me to keep working while knowing my parents were getting the care they needed. It’s a team effort with both family and staff to stay in touch almost weekly to ensure the right care for residents and keep up with their changing needs. Rachel has been doing just that—listening, solving problems, and making tough decisions since she arrived. Thank you, Watermere staff, for making this facility feel like home for my parents!

"Best Assisted Living Facility Experience So Far!"
I moved both my parents to the Isle at Watermere a few months ago. My dad is in assisted living, and my mom is in memory care. As a local veterinarian, I spent years searching for the right place for them. This is their third move, and from what I’ve seen so far with the management and staff, I believe this will be their last move. The Isle offers the best care my parents have received. The staff is well-trained, caring, and attentive. While no assisted living or memory care facility is perfect and issues can arise, the Isle stands out with its well-staffed team and management that listens and resolves concerns quickly and with genuine care. I've also learned that caring for my parents in this stage of life is a team effort. It requires regular communication between family, caregivers, nurses, and management to get the best results. This interaction is done with professionalism, respect, and a commitment to making things work. The food is great, and there are always activities to keep them engaged. It truly feels like a family atmosphere where everyone looks out for each other. Plus, a new Family Council forum has been started to improve communication between residents, their families, and management to keep up the high standards at the Isle.

"Overpriced Assisted Living with Unkind Nursing Director"
The Isle at Watermere looks stunning and we were thrilled to transfer my grandma there. It's well designed and the overall idea is wonderful. However, their head nurse, , is terrible. He's rude, unprofessional, and lacks a good work ethic. There are many hardworking staff members at The Isle, but with in charge, things just don't run well. My grandma finds him unpleasant, and the rest of the staff seems to agree. Also, they charge extra for gloves, which I think is downright wrong. When I asked a staff member about how they prevent disease spread without gloves, they said they either don't use them or 'borrow' from another resident, which is clearly unhealthy and it's not right to take another resident's supplies. The Isle certainly does nickel and dime you, which wasn't clear when we signed the initial contract. I doubt there's a perfect assisted living facility out there, but having a caring and compassionate nursing director should be a given. We've made our issues known to those in charge, but it's been months with no change. We'd move my grandma, but she's settled in and it would be disruptive to relocate her. Watermere, please get your act together! Your premise is commendable and you charge plenty, so you should be able to hire a team that genuinely cares for the elderly.

"Inadequate Care and Unfulfilled Promises at the Isle"
My folks moved into the Isle from another state. They used to live in another assisted living place before. To start, their care wasn't well-managed. Within less than a month, they had two different head nurses! What we were promised when they moved in wasn't delivered. Like, the full medical check-ups weren't done. My dad had been complaining for three days about a side pain. In the end, I went ahead and ignored the staff's indifference. Long story short, my dad died five weeks later of a broken appendix caused by a cancerous growth. Would those extra few days have helped? Maybe not, but the staff's apathy was upsetting. After he died, I was outside waiting to talk to the now-previous administrator. I heard the head nurse asking if we had signed a rent agreement. She didn't think we had asked for help for three days and wanted us gone. She realized they messed up big time. She promises a lot to our faces, but talks about us when we're not around. The staff is always changing. There's no consistency unless you threaten to sue them. The food has gotten worse in the short time we've been here. We're thinking about leaving, but we can't have mom move so soon after dad's unexpected death. Would I suggest this place to others? Definitely not. The only good thing is that they now call mom by her name and not just 'honey.' I gotta say, the activities director is the only one that deserves a raise. She's been the friendliest and most supportive person here.

"A Complete Disaster: Deplorable Care at Assisted Living Facility"
I was searching for good-quality assisted living or memory care, and I ended up choosing the rehab facility. I picked it because it was located in a place that I recognized. Plus, it was a brand-new building promised to have the newest, top-of-the-line equipment, and a superior caregiver to resident ratio. However, it was a total disaster. There seemed to be no staff around, leaving a depressing and lonely atmosphere. They didn't administer medication when they were supposed to. They didn't have a wheelchair that fit my loved one, so they just planned to leave him in bed. During a relocation, they almost dropped him. They began to give him a bath but were unprepared with no linens available, so he was left exposed while they looked for linens. The management is simply awful. There was even a woman who was so thirsty but couldn't find any help to get a drink. It was heartbreaking.

The staff at Watermere were really helpful with moving my dad to assisted living. He came from out of state, and everything went smoothly. The staff kept checking in to make sure everything was covered. They were friendly and made us feel like family from the start. My family and I visited Watermere several times before deciding to place my dad there. Each time, the residents looked happy, well cared for, and interacted respectfully with the staff. The place is clean, bright, and has safety measures on all exterior doors.

"Care Coordination Needs Improvement"
I think they could have done a better job coordinating care. I expected more help from the insurance company, but they weren't very involved. My dad's health declined while he was there, so I had to take him out. Families should know exactly what services are offered. I'd recommend asking more questions before choosing.

"Inconsistent Care but Good Food"
The care here is sometimes good and sometimes not so good. Some CNAs come when you ring your bell, but some don't, and they don't always do what they're supposed to, like making the bed or making sure my husband is wearing his depends. I can do things and ask for help when I need it, but my husband can't, so I'm worried about him. His room can get messy, or his floor can be wet, and they don't always clean it. When I'm not here, I don't know if he's being taken care of the way I want. Some of the staff are really great, and the housekeepers are nice. I just try not to be too picky. The food and everything else is very good.

"Great place with 24-hour nurse, rehab, and room amenities"
I really liked this place. They have a nurse available all the time, rehab services, help with furniture, and TV and Wi-Fi in the room. Everything is better overall.

"Mixed Feelings about Assisted Living Facility, But Good Services"
The place didn't look nice, but the help was good. They're making a new building. They have CARS for transportation.
