"Overall positive experience with some food quality concerns."
I enjoy Mayberry Gardens. Moving in was smooth, and the grounds are lovely. Most staff members seem to care about residents, but the food quality isn't great. Overall, I'd recommend Mayberry Gardens to family and friends.

We visited Mayberry Gardens, and the place was decent. I'd give it three stars overall. However, we weren't impressed with the facility.

"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living Facility, Not Recommendable"
Our time at this place wasn't the best nor the worst. My family member had the smallest room available, with just a half bath. They had to share showers with others in their building, and cleanliness became an issue over time. The staff turnover was high, and their attention to cleaning wasn't consistent. Some staff were nice, but others weren't. The difference between day and night staff was noticeable. When we needed help, it often took too long for someone to respond. The food was a constant source of complaint, often being cold, too salty, or just not very good. The room felt cramped, and my family member didn't like it at all, though it was what we could afford. There weren't any activities outside the facility, but they did offer some on-campus. The pricing was straightforward, with no hidden fees. The facility itself was small and all on one level, which was nice. There were some good people, like the unit administrator, who was very kind. However, the issues with the room, food, cleaning, and response times outweighed the positives. Overall, I wouldn't suggest this place to others. It seemed to get worse the longer my family member stayed there.

"Disappointing Experience at Assisted Living Facility"
My loved one did okay in Building 3, enjoying socializing. But when she got sick, she needed more care and was moved to Building 1. The manager isn't friendly. She works hard but can't control the aides. The aides didn't care for my loved one properly, even after being told she needed help with eating. They kept leaving her food on the tray in her room. I wasn't told several times when she fell, and I found out 2 days after she got COVID from one of her visitors. When I called administration, they said they weren't aware. I installed a monitor and realized this isn't where I want my loved one to stay. Despite the good reviews, we faced problem after problem.

"Friendly Staff and Clean Community, Needs More Attention to Detail"
I would recommend this place for your loved one. They mostly do a good job. It would be nice if they paid more attention to details. Helping residents with where they are and what they’re doing would be helpful. The staff is friendly, and the place is clean.

"Affordable, friendly community; not ideal for combative loved ones."
We really liked Mayberry Gardens, but it didn't work out for our loved one because of their health and sometimes combative behavior. It wasn't like a nursing home, and it cost less than many others. The staff were nice. Residents could hang out on the porch and eat together. If your loved one isn't combative, they'd probably like it there. We'd suggest Mayberry Gardens.

"Overall positive with some issues."
Our family's experience was pretty good. There are only 11 houses, so it was easy to get to know everyone—residents and staff. House 1's manager had a hostile attitude, but houses 6 & 7 were wonderful. The house manager can make or break the experience. We recommend all other houses except for house 1.

"Limited activities, no medical staff due to COVID"
Before COVID, they told us a lot about their activities, but we haven't seen them yet because of the pandemic. The community doesn't have medical staff, so if your loved one needs medical care, this might not be the best place.

"Homelike Atmosphere with Limited Transportation and Outdoor Access"
This place feels cozy, but getting around is tough. Can't let pets outside. We enjoyed the homey vibe and the people there.

"Like living in a cozy, caring environment"
My mother-in-law loves living at Mayberry Gardens because it's smaller and more home-like compared to big places. She feels like she’s having home-cooked meals out every day, even though the dining room is very close to her room. The staff is very caring and knows her well. They help with her needs without any problems. The house manager and care team keep us updated about any unusual behavior and are very generous with their time and care.

"Creating a New Family"
Our three years at Mayberry Gardens were awesome. The way they support us is really special, and the staff were super helpful as Mom moved through different levels of care. Because the homes are small, we got close to the staff and other residents—they all felt like family! The house managers knew Mom so well that they could tell me about any changes that needed attention. Some of my friends also brought their parents here and were really happy. Mayberry Gardens turned a tough time into something positive and bearable!

"Healthy Food Needed, But Overall Great Place"
My husband's doing well here, but the food's the problem. They should offer healthier options for residents. Besides that, everything's fine. The staff's good, they take care of him well. It's been a decent experience, apart from the meals. I'd still suggest this place to others.

"Decent for Self-Sufficient Residents but Needs Better Staffing"
Good stuff: The facilities are neat, comfy, and remind you of home. The outside area is really well-kept and it's nice to chill there. The cost isn't bad compared to similar places. Not so good stuff: The care they provide only works for folks who can mostly look after themselves. They have a lot of staff changes and many of them aren't that skilled or watched over well. So, expect to keep a close eye on things to make sure your loved one is properly taken care of, especially if they can't really fend for themselves. There aren't enough caregivers for the number of residents, so they can't really give that one-on-one type care. They do the necessary stuff like helping with food, medicine, and cleaning, but they're too busy for much else. There are a few exceptions, but overall, they seem short-handed and could do with better staff. A lot of them don't seem happy working there and are looking for other jobs. There isn't any security or medical staff on-site, but you can get home health care agencies. If you pay extra, there's a doctor who can make house calls and they offer help with managing medications.

"Good Environment but Needs More Activities and Better Memory Care"
This place has a good, organized environment, which is helpful since my loved one has memory issues. Sometimes it seems like they might struggle with handling her aggressive behavior because of her memory problems. I think caregivers who specialize in memory care should be able to manage these situations better. However, things have gotten better lately. I would also like to see more activities available.

"Community Needs Culinary Improvement, Otherwise Enjoyable Experience"
I've liked it here so far. Things are going okay. The food could be better, though. Sometimes it's just a small portion or a sandwich with chips. They should cook more real meals. I think they care about us, but they're really busy. They should make sure we have enough activities to join in. Besides that, it's a nice place to be.

"Great choice, clean, friendly, and Christian-based facility"
We really liked this place; it was one of our top picks. It was clean, and the staff was friendly. It wasn’t as big as some other places we saw, but that didn’t bother us too much. It was just a bit smaller than the place we chose, and the main difference was the location. We also appreciated that it seemed to have a Christian focus.

Met with Diane and Wes – they were both very friendly. I really liked the housing and the property. Right now, it fits our budget, but the cost goes up if Mom needs more care.
