"Decent Assisted Living"

It's a pretty good place. Not too big, not too expensive. Staff could be nicer.

"Friendly staff and great maintenance at Mustang Creek"

The staff at Mustang Creek are really nice and helpful. When I couldn’t visit during the week, they met me on Saturday. Maintenance takes care of everything quickly. I should have asked more about what the staff can and can’t do for the residents.

"Assisted Living Facility Review"

Chose this place because of the idea and cost. I can manage most things they do. Sometimes I need a little help. Mom pressed her call button three times and no one showed up. That's not okay. That's pretty much it. P.S.: If you live here, you better like rice because they serve it a lot.

"Mixed Experience"

My mom isn't into the activities here. Everything else depends on the staff working that day. One caregiver handles all care and cooking for the 10 residents. Some aides are great, while others struggle to keep up. I've talked to the manager about this. The pharmacy provides all medications, even over-the-counter ones, at higher prices than Walmart.

"Understaffed and Mismanaged: A Review of Mustang Creek"

We recently moved our mom into Mustang Creek. The place is seriously short-staffed, often with just one person looking after a house or even two houses at a time. These workers are pulling double shifts and aren't paid enough for their efforts. Staff members are frequently late or don't show up at all. They're supposed to do laundry once a week, but you really have to keep reminding them to get it done. The bathrooms are supposed to be cleaned every day, but my mom's toilet was dirty for three days until I cleaned it myself. They advertise the place as if it's the best thing ever, trying to sell it to you. They don't even ask about your insurance. They use Trinity Pharmacy, and our mom's first pharmacy bill was because it was out of network. This was all new to us, and they should have explained this to us. They should have told us to make sure our insurance is in network with their pharmacy. The director just tells you what you want to hear or she just walks away while you're talking to her. She's managing two sites and seems to be all over the place. The yard needs grass too.

"Lack of Staff and Broken Promises at Assisted Living Facility"

The buildings look great, but they lack good management. Usually, there's just one employee per building, two if you're lucky. These poor staff are expected to do everything - laundry, care for the residents, and daily cleanups. My mom stayed there for a few months, and I was constantly asked to help out. In the end, I moved her to a Memory Care center. During her stay, her bed sheets were NEVER changed. They claim to do laundry weekly, but they hardly do. When they do do laundry, they often lose a lot of clothes. The Memory Care residents only get to do about 10% of the activities they're promised. And they never get to go to other units, that's the excuse given. They have a lovely backyard that I was told would be cleaned for residents to enjoy. However, this NEVER happened. Terrible.

"Food Quality Needs Improvement"

The staff is nice, but the food needs work. It’s the main issue, and we end up eating out.

"Great Meals and Friendly Staff, But Needs Weekend Improvements"

We've had a pretty good experience with this place so far. Most of the staff is great, but some aren't as good. This usually happens on weekends when they use fill-ins instead of the regular staff. I know it's because it's not routine for them, and some things can be challenging. They have good activities, but I wish they had more on weekends. The meals are great. Communication with the family is very good, though it can be hard to reach someone in the evenings. I suggest the staff wear their name tags. They have them, but not everyone wears them. This would help the residents, especially those with Dementia. Overall, this place is nice and small. It's pretty low-key in terms of atmosphere and residents. I would recommend it to family and friends.

"Perfect Place for Dad with All-Inclusive Pricing"

Mustang Creek Estates has been awesome. We're really happy with their services. The all-inclusive price was a huge bonus compared to other places we checked out. This is a fantastic facility. Definitely the right place for Dad.

"Great Place, Just Not for Us"

My dad and I checked out this place for our mom, and it was really nice. In the end, we couldn’t get dad to agree to it, even though we had already paid a few months’ rent. It wasn’t the facility’s fault at all. It seemed like a great place and worth the money.

"Insufficient Staff and Unkept Promises at Assisted Living Facility"

This place doesn't have enough staff. We paid a lot of money for 3 months, but my family member was only there for less than a month. All places have issues, but I wouldn't suggest going here. They don't have enough helpers. Clothes and bed sheets from my family member's room were missing. They didn't do a thorough cleaning like they said they would.

" "A Nightmare Stay at Mustang Creek Estates: An Unbearable Experience""

Our experience at Mustang Creek Estates was absolutely terrible. We moved my dad into this place last year hoping for the best care, but it was a disaster. We met with the director and salesperson who promised us wonderful care. One of the managers came and told us how close she is with all the families and how her patients are treated like family. We set my dad's room up nicely, brought in his favorite chair and all of his clothes, labeled with his name since he has dementia. After a week, everything was a mess. He was wearing women's clothes, his belongings were lost and his room was very dirty. We kept seeing piles of dirty laundry and his toilet was constantly flooding. One time, we took him home for a visit and decided not to take him back. His room was in a terrible state, with things dumped everywhere and other people's dirty laundry mixed with his. The whole place smelled of urine and it was clear they were not maintaining a clean environment. To make it worse, we got a huge medical bill because the caretakers kept sending my dad to the hospital without consulting hospice first. They were clearly not trained well and they seemed more interested in their personal matters than caring for the residents. We didn't see anyone participating in activities there. Mostly, the residents were just sitting around watching TV. The worst part was that my dad's medication was constantly running out, and we suspect someone else was taking it. In addition, hospice never contacted us about his condition. We never saw any progress or improvements. We felt betrayed and disappointed by Mustang Creek's lack of professionalism and care. It was so bad that my dad's family from California wanted us to move him out immediately. To sum it up, the last few months of my dad's life were very distressing thanks to the terrible experience at Mustang Creek Estates. I would not wish this on anyone and hope this review helps others avoid a similar situation.

"Great facility with attentive staff but high check payment fee"

I’ve been really happy with Mustang Creek Estates Allen. I haven’t tried the food myself, but my loved one says it’s great, and it always smells nice when I visit. The activities are excellent, although they recently lost a wonderful activities director. I hope they find someone just as good. The cost seems fair, and the staff are very attentive. The facility is very clean, neat, and organized, which is important to me. The only issue I have is that if you don’t let them take money directly from your bank account, there’s a $25 monthly fee for paying by check, which I think is unreasonable. Other than that, I’ve been very satisfied.
