"Good dining area, but shared restrooms were inconvenient."
I toured this community, and it was okay. The dining area was a good size and very spacious, but the resident rooms were kind of small. We didn't like that restrooms were shared and not in each room. There were only 2 or 3 common restrooms for about 16 residents, which wasn't ideal for us and our loved one's needs.

"Friendly staff and fun activities, but food could improve"
Overall, it was a nice place. The staff was very friendly. My loved one thought the food was just okay. However, she really enjoyed the activities, like Bingo, which kept the residents busy. I would have liked to see some extra care features, like bed sensors to check on residents at night.

"A Cozy Assisted Living Facility"
The rooms are cozy bedrooms with attached bathrooms. The entire facility is pleasant, and each building has around 16 rooms.

"Too expensive, poor communication issues"
It's hard to reach the staff when you call. I feel the community is overpriced, more expensive than others in the area, and not worth the extra money. They've had a lot of staff turnover. We're planning to move our loved one out of the community soon.

"Phenomenal Caregivers, Policy Disappointment"
I had no issues with the facility. I put my dad there on , and he passed away on . My only disappointment was a policy that wasn't explained when I reserved the room or during the paperwork. I didn't receive a copy of what I signed until I asked for it later, and then I was told there would be no refund. Even though I paid for a month, he was only there for two weeks, and the policy said they'd charge for two weeks after his passing. When I initially reserved the room, I asked about a refund if he died before the month was up, but nothing was mentioned about the policy, despite the administrator claiming she told me. The facility itself is excellent, and the caregivers are awesome.

The facility was very nice and seemed like the residents were comfortable and well taken care of. The rooms were too small, like in a hospital. It's not what I'm looking for for my mom. They also had no Assisted Living openings.

"Top-Notch Care and Support at This Assisted Living Facility"
My patient gets the best care here at this assisted living facility. The staff did an amazing job helping both my patient and our family adjust from living at home to moving to this new place. I would definitely recommend this facility to other families for their loved ones.

"Amazing Assisted Living Community Cozy, Engaging, and Homey"
This place is fantastic! It really feels like home. With fewer units, it’s super cozy. I love the kitchen being in the “heart” of the building. The activities are always fun and interesting! This would be the first place I'd recommend for someone special to check out!

"Review of New Haven Assisted Living & Memory Care - Schertz, TX"
Nice place to live! The residence is clean, and the staff is responsible and kind. The manager, who is an LVN, cares about the residents. They have an excellent activities director, a bus for events, and library access. My loved one seems happy here.

As a hospice chaplain, I've visited New Haven for the last two years and worked with their staff on Veteran’s appreciation events. My experience with this place has always been great. They genuinely care about their residents and families, they are very professional, and they always make outside helpers like me feel welcome and part of their team. I’d be completely comfortable having one of my own loved ones live here if needed. Thanks to New Haven for taking such good care of everyone.

"Clean, Spacious Community with Attentive Staff and Good Food"
We looked at a bunch of places, and they all seemed pretty similar, but we chose this one for a reason. The layout is great for my mom—she can move around freely without wandering off. It's super clean and tidy here. The staff is friendly and really takes care of the residents. They don't have too many people to look after, so they can give everyone the attention they need. The food's pretty tasty, too. It might cost a bit more, but knowing Mom's well taken care of is worth it to me.

"Great Memory Care With Some Initial Assessment Flaws"
Ever since my mom transferred to the memory care section, things have been better. The staff who look after her are all fantastic. It's obvious that they work hard to maintain the place. They've designed it so that the rooms have access to the common areas. It's not a large facility and they don't offer wound care services, but they do take care of dispensing medications. There's a hairdresser who comes in every week. They also keep the residents engaged with animal visits and other activities. However, I wish they had made a more thorough initial assessment. We found out the hard way that the assisted living section wasn't a good fit for mom.

"Not Ideal for Mom's Needs"
The staff took us on a great tour of the community. They were super friendly and knew a lot, but it just wasn't right for my mom. She'd have to stay in the memory unit because the main floor isn't secure, and she tends to wander sometimes.

"Great environment for Mom!"
My mom just moved in here, and we're happy with how she's doing. She loves it, which matters most to me. I'm glad to see her eating well and having fun with other residents. The place is always clean and well-kept whenever I visit. I'd definitely suggest it to anyone looking for a fantastic living place.

"Watch out and ask questions! Looks can be deceiving!"
My parent stays at this place and sure, it's new and looks pretty good, but it definitely has its own set of issues! The workers there aren't happy and there's a new face almost every other day! They leave the elderly folks all by themselves, sometimes staff don't even show up and they generally have bad attitudes. They seem to be cutting corners on everything. So, if you're thinking about putting your loved one here, make sure you ask lots of questions first. They put on a good act to draw you in (like most places do), but the problems start pile up as soon as you’re through the door. With the amount they charge, they really need to up their game!

"Fantastic, home-like facility with friendly staff and small size"
This is a great facility that feels like a home and is only a year old. It’s small, with a maximum of 16 people, which helps everyone interact more. During our tour, the staff was very friendly and welcoming. Regina gave us all the information we needed and answered our questions, but we didn’t get any paperwork like we did at other places.

"New Haven is a beautiful facility with some staffing concerns."
New Haven is a beautiful, new building. The onwer takes great pride in caring for her cozy residents. The facility has a lovely community room and kitchen, with the same setup for both Assisted Living and Memory Care. However, there are only two attendants for every 16 residents in the morning, three at midday, and two again at night. The cost is $5,400 plus care fees ranging from $200 to $900 depending on needs. Visitation is allowed anytime. It’s tied for first place, possibly second.

"Fancy, high-end place with great service, convenient location"
The place is super fancy and high-end. It’s a bit pricey and feels a little too fancy for a regular Arkansas farm boy like me. I don’t have any complaints about the facility or the sales advisor they were both excellent. It’s also in a really convenient spot near New Braunfels.

"Great staff, clean environment, and mom is very happy"
I found the place very clean and the staff super friendly and helpful. From the start, whenever we had questions, they answered right away and took action quickly. Mom had a few requests, and they got everything sorted out fast. She enjoys the activities available, even though she's not into sports and is quite blind. She keeps telling me she likes the place and the people. The care is excellent, too; they give her the shots she needs and have a doctor available so she doesn't have to go to appointments. I chose New Haven mainly because of the friendly staff and cleanliness. Many other places had strong cleaning smells, like they were trying to hide something, but this one didn’t. Overall, mom is happy, and that's what really matters.

"Fantastic Place! Highly Recommend!"
We absolutely love it it's fantastic! My dad is really happy there. The service is great and definitely worth it. The staff is friendly and always available if he needs help. I tell everyone I know about it, even though I think they’re currently full. My dad doesn’t play many games, but he enjoys the exercise classes and the little parties they have. I can’t think of anything they could do better. They've been amazing. I just wish we had discovered it sooner!
