"Excellent care, staff like family, no worries."
My dad stayed at Baycrest for 2 years. The care he got was excellent. The staff and aides treated him like family. I never had to worry about his care. The employees feel like family to me too.

"A Caring Place for Parents"
I think this place is good for parents to live. There were some problems, but they fixed them fast. The director, talks to families about issues and handles them well. The staff treat my parents like their own grandparents.

"Good service, helpful staff, decent care, pricey but fair."
We've had great service from the management. Tessa Williams has been awesome in helping us solve different problems. Overall, they've taken good care of my loved one, even with her dementia-related challenges. It's pricey but similar to other places.

""Poor Service and Unfair Practices at Assisted Living""
Our experience here wasn't good. They didn't really seem interested in helping out with any problems we had. Whenever something came up with us, they'd just call us first instead of trying to figure out the problem themselves. They billed us thrice for the first month and it took over a month and a half to get our money back. The manager, [name removed], only gave us a day's notice to find a new place and move there, which was against our agreement. We know the person [name removed] was a bit hard to handle, but moving him to three different rooms was not a practical solution for his problems.

This place is perfect for your loved ones. It's small and feels like family. Knowing they're well cared for gives me peace of mind.

"Great staff and care, but recliner didn't fit well."
The staff here was really nice and took good care of my loved one. It was a nice break for me from all the caregiving. The only thing that bothered me was that they promised a recliner, and while they did bring one, it was too short for my loved one. Overall, I found this place when it seemed like there were no other good options.

"Mixed First Impression"
This place looks nice, and the person on the phone was nice too. But when we got there for our tour, they seemed to forget about it. Eventually, we did get the tour, but the person who showed us around didn’t know much.

"Warm, family-like environment with attentive staff and above-average meals."
I really liked New Haven at first and suggested it to my mom. She picked it as her new place and has been pretty happy there. First off, the good stuff. The place feels just like home, not like those big, boring places you see everywhere else. Since it's small, there are more staff for each person, which means better care. The people who work there always check on my mom and they're always nice to her. They'll do whatever she asks and they're always polite. The food is better than what you'd expect. It's mostly healthy and looks nice, though they do serve a lot of pasta and stuff which might not be great for people with diabetes. But, there are some things that could be better. The staff changes a lot, so we can't even remember who's who anymore. It would be helpful if everyone had name tags. Also, while the care is mostly good, it's not always what we expected. Sometimes the new staff seems a bit clueless about what to do. I'm also a little disappointed with the activities. We were told there would be music and church services, but they haven't happened yet. They do have games like Bingo and movies, but my mom says the movies aren't interesting to her. But even with those issues, my mom likes it there and feels safe. Most of the problems I've told the boss about have been fixed, and I think the staff really wants to do a good job. I'd tell others to check out New Haven.

"Assisted Living Offers Excellent Care, Lacks Activity Planning"
I'm pretty happy overall. They're really taking good care of my husband. They know about his problems, and the staff seems to care a lot. The place isn't too big, so they can keep an eye on him. He likes having his own room and watching the birds outside his window and the street. The food is really good. I just wish they had someone to plan more activities for the Memory Care unit. There's too much empty time, especially in the afternoon. In the month my husband has been there, I've only seen the activities director once. I haven't seen him around to organize activities though.

"New Haven Neglected: Standards Sliding, Residents Leaving!"
Bee Hive Homes used to be great about two years ago. Sure, there were a few complaints, but overall it was top-notch. Then, it got renamed New Haven after being bought. Since that happened, things keep getting worse. They got rid of a bunch of the staff, and the food is so bad that my relative can't even eat it some days. It doesn't seem like my loved one is getting the right care with just one worker per shift. They've switched out the person in charge of activities (who happens to be the new owner's teenage kid) and there aren't any activities happening now in memory care. Families are paying a lot of money for service, and it isn't meeting the mark. If they don't improve soon, they'll be down another resident because my relative might move, just like others have done in the last year.

"Home-like Environment with Friendly Staff - Highly Recommend!"
We looked at about 10 to 12 places. This is the first one that feels like being at home. Each person has a big room and a big bathroom. The rooms are all around a big living room, beautiful kitchen, and dining area. This isn't just another nursing home pretending to be something else. The workers are nice, full of energy, and very kind and helpful to my parents.
