"Kind Staff and Beautiful Facility, But Lacking Resident Interaction"

Sadly, my mom passed away before she had been at Silverleaf for a month. But while she was there, the staff was very kind and helpful. I wasn’t as impressed with the manager, but I didn’t interact with her much. The facility is beautiful and the food was good. My only complaint is that there weren’t any other residents around to interact with my mom.

"Friendly Staff and Cozy Atmosphere"

The house feels a bit old-fashioned but comfy. The staff is super friendly.

"Mixed feelings: Warm staff, clean facility, bland meals, limited activities."

The people who work here are really nice and friendly. The place inside and outside looks really clean and nice. I'm super glad that they help my dad to come out of his room and spend time with others. Some nice folks come by to chat about cars and sports, which my dad loves. Most of the people who live here are guys, and some used to be in the military, which my dad also likes. The food isn't very exciting because lots of people here have special diets. We didn't know about some rules, like when my dad can smoke outside. The doors have bells on them, and the hours for going in and out are a bit strict. They have a schedule for everything. It would be cool if they planned more fun stuff for the residents to do. My dad's room is good for him, with his computer and TV. It's a cozy place, and my dad says he feels really comfy there, more than anywhere else.

"Communication needs work."

Things are okay so far, but family communication could improve.

"Alzheimer’s Care Concerns"

The assisted living facility where my father stayed was clean, and the meals were nutritious. The caregivers were efficient and kind to mostly cooperative clients. However, I realized they lacked proper training for Alzheimer’s care. There were usually two caregivers, but at night, only one stayed awake. Unfortunately, my father’s situation wasn’t ideal, and I wish I had chosen a different place.

"Affordable Assisted Living with Long-Term Caregivers"

The manager is friendly and used to be a physical therapist. He lives in Allen and coaches baseball. Unfortunately, the residents don't get out much. The doctor visits once a month, and the caregivers have been there for 5 to 6 years. The cost ranges from $3200 to $3600.
