"Things Improved Over Time Despite Initial Difficulties and Ongoing Challenges"

It was tough at first, but over the weeks, things started to improve. Dementia is really hard on everyone involved. My family is still struggling with it. I've worked in this field as an Activities Director for 17 years, so I understand the challenges.

"Nice place with great staff but some care issues noted"

The place is really nice, and many staff members are great. But, some staff are not very accurate, friendly, or dedicated. We've had problems with medication, cleanliness, and communication. If someone can’t speak up for themselves, they might not get the best care. The two-bedroom unit was nice, and I had a good first impression.

Orchard Park of Kyle is a great place with friendly staff and many room choices. I'm excited to be a new volunteer and visit the residents.

"Friendly staff but noise and food issues need attention"

### Review: From eating meals in the dining room and talking to other residents, I noticed some issues related to budget and staffing. The kitchen staff was very friendly and helpful, but there was a lot of staff turnover and not enough training. The noise level was very high, making it hard to have conversations. Adding noise-absorbing features and soft music might help. The Chef tried to offer an appealing, though very basic, menu. Unfortunately, it mostly included canned food, fried meats, and sugary items instead of fresh fruits and vegetables. The meals didn't seem very nutritious, and a lot of food was wasted. Maybe switching food vendors or participating in a farmer's market could help. All staff members were very helpful, but it was often hard to find them, especially between meal times or when no activities were happening. The place looked deserted, including the front desk, with staff presumably working behind closed doors.

"Moved After A Year, Overwhelmed by Cost and Care Increase."

My mom, who is 89, stayed at this assisted living facility for a year. We had to move her after the first year due to a significant increase in both care needs and cost. She is now in which is a much better facility, improving our situation by decreasing our monthly cost by $1,000, offering a larger staff, and more services. If it's necessary for you to find a place in Kyle for your family member, Orchard Park is manageable. They genuinely try their best with the resources they have, and I wish them the best of luck.

"Perfect Place for Mom, Moving In Next Month"

The facility is perfect for my mom. I’m really pleased with it and have already arranged a studio apartment for her. She’ll be moving in next month. Thanks for all your help!

"Felt sterile, lacked personality; not the best fit for mom"

Right after stepping into this assisted living facility, it felt too much like a hospital to me. All the walls were painted stark white, reminding me of the lifeless sterility of a hospital. I toured the place on Mother's Day, so didn't bump into any of the staff. From my observations, the place seemed well-kept and cleanliness wasn't an issue. The location was also conveniently placed for me. However, the main problem was that the place lacked a homelike feel or personality. It didn't give me the impression that it would be the best fit for my mom.

"Wonderful Community, Thrilled with My Move Here"

This place is amazing. I’m really happy I moved here; everything is going perfectly. You couldn’t drag me away! They serve fantastic food and have fun activities. The staff is fantastic. I feel very at ease and happy with my decision to move to this community. Everything about this place is wonderful. I totally recommend it.

"Worth Checking Out"

I really liked this community when we visited. It was clean, and the staff we met were friendly. However, I had heard some negative things about the food. Also, the only available apartment during our visit was smaller than what we were looking for.

"New and Wonderful Care"

This is a fantastic and brand-new community. My mom appreciates the staff, who are very kind and friendly. The move has been excellent for her, and I’m thrilled to see her happy in her new home. The day-to-day and nursing staff are outstanding and incredibly helpful. She really enjoys the food variety, and there are no hidden charges. The environment is upscale and clean. My mom actively participates in the offered activities. I highly recommend this community to other families for their loved ones’ care and value.

"Fantastic Place with Friendly Staff and Great Meals!"

My mom moved from another place, and she really likes it here. She’s very happy with the friendly staff who communicate well. She enjoys the meals, and most importantly, she feels safe.

"Many Common Areas Available!"

I really liked this place because they have lots of common areas, like a beauty salon, fitness center, and movie room. They also offer many activities, including educational lectures. I highly recommend taking a tour—they have so much to offer. The staff and residents seemed to get along well.

The application and contract process was quick and well-managed. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The facility was clean and organized.

"Getting Better"

The staff is really nice and seems to enjoy helping the residents. When I put my dad in the facility, I didn't know they were short on staff, so some things took longer than I expected. But now they've hired more staff, and the care seems to be getting better. My only other concern was that management didn't always communicate well, but that's improving too.

"Wonderful facility with great value and minor phone issues"

Orchard Park of Kyle is fantastic. They offer great value, and even though my relative is in memory care and doesn't join many activities, they still enjoy listening to music and watching movies in the movie room. I've been really pleased with everything, especially considering the cost. It's exactly what we needed. My only issue is that sometimes it's hard to reach someone when I call, which can be a bit frustrating. But other than that, we really love this place.

"A Great Experience During His Stay"

It was awesome while he stayed there. The staff was super. I didn't notice anything I wanted to change or improve. They're doing their best with what they have.

"Everything’s Great So Far"

We’ve been happy so far. We haven’t had any issues since moving in. I’ve tried the food, and it tastes good. We picked this place because it was very clean and the staff was friendly during our tour. We’re happy with our choice, and everything is going well.

"Great visit! Considering for Mom's next home after rehab."

We visited this place last week, and we're thinking about having my mom stay here when she leaves the skilled nursing facility at Stonebridge.

"Exceptional care and kind staff. Very happy with Orchard Park."

Choosing a memory care center for my mom was very hard. Orchard Park made it easy with their understanding and care. When we arrived, Linda warmly greeted mom with a big hug and walked her inside. My dad and I were emotional, knowing mom would be safe and happy. She’s only been there for 5 days, but she’s doing great! Thank you to everyone at Orchard Park for your kindness.

"“Nice Place with Friendly Staff”"

We checked out Orchard Park while exploring our options. It seemed nice, and the staff were friendly. However, it was quite large, with really long hallways and numerous doors. I wasn’t sure if my loved one could find her way to her room, and we had concerns about her getting lost.

"Smooth sailing at Orchard Park; one hiccup, promptly resolved."

Orchard Park has been really good. Everything seems to be going fine until now. There was a small problem at the start, but they took care of it and everything has been good since then.

"Orchard Park does a very good job"

My wife is 73 years old. We’ve been married for 53 years and have been together for 55 years. Over the past two years, her memory has gotten worse, and she rarely recognizes me. She recently became very difficult, especially during bath time, and had to leave three other facilities because of this behavior. Orchard Park has managed her symptoms, and she has improved in less than two months. She is usually alert and active, which she wasn’t at other places. They tried to control her behavior with heavy sedation. Her memory is still declining. In short, Orchard Park of Kyle has a great staff that seems well-trained and a very nice facility. They do a very good job taking care of their clients. My only criticism is the fire drills. The loud noise confuses the memory care clients. Since the staff checks every room during a fire drill (or I assume during a real event), it seems the volume of the alarms could be turned down. The clients don’t know what to do anyway without staff guidance.

"Wonderful Place to Work with Caring Staff and Great Food"

It's a great place to work. The staff truly care about the residents. The facility is beautiful, and both the management and care team always do their best for the residents. Plus, the food is really good too!

"Negligence and Unsanitary Conditions at Orchard Park."

My dad stayed at Orchard Park for just three days before he ended up in the hospital. He had a habit of walking around at night and with the place only checking on residents once every hour, it wasn't a good fit. My father fell one night and was left alone for an hour or longer, discovered later just lying in the hallway. It's pretty sad that there's no one around to watch the hallways at night in a memory care center. The shared bathroom was also shockingly dirty for a long period. My dad fell on a Wednesday and by Sunday, four full days later, it hadn't been cleaned even after I told the staff about it.

"More Activities Needed at Assisted Living Facility"

I think this place is good, but it needs more activities.

"Prepared for a disaster: Extreme Issues Plague Community"

Our experience was total chaos. After forking over a $1500 move-in fee, we had to clear out the previous tenant's furniture so she could move in. Nobody bothered to tell her roommate about the new arrival, which obviously upset her. They had to share one closet which we weren't allowed to use because that was the previous resident's. It was clear they weren't prepared for us at all. This community was nothing but an issue. She didn't take a shower for nearly two weeks because she didn't want to and no one made her. Medicine was another problem. They arranged for therapy without giving us a heads up. They expected us to supply her own toilet paper - with four people sharing a restroom, I have no idea how that'd work out. Every visit found her crying, wanting to go home and complaining about other residents swiping her things. Sometimes they even failed in keeping track of their residents. Our initial tour was rushed and confusing - they even showed us the wrong room. We felt hurried into signing papers. Despite staying less than three weeks, they're now demanding February's rent and keeping the deposit because we didn't alert them a month in advance. Plus, we had to move furniture. Each time I walked in, I saw a woman being treated rudely by staff over the phone and others attempting to leave. It was a revolving door of staff members with residents routinely not being woken for meals. They still haven't provided us with a copy of the contract. From the onset, it felt more like a sales pitch than anything else. Sure, it's visually attractive, but beauty isn't everything. Just be aware and keep an eye on things.

"A Son's Review"

We chose Orchard Park after visiting three other homes—one in Kyle and two in Austin. Orchard Park stood out for several reasons: the friendly staff, pleasant environment, lovely courtyards, and their willingness to explain all the services. My mother has been there for a month now, and she absolutely loves it. We transitioned her from a three-bedroom condo to a studio, which presented some challenges. However, with strategic furniture arrangements, we created a cute and functional room that she enjoys. The amenities at Orchard Park are right at her fingertips, making it easier for her to manage. Kudos to Linda, the wellness director! She's done an amazing job getting my mother involved and making her feel welcome. In just one month, my mom's social engagement has improved significantly. She even won in bingo the other day and was thrilled about it. The only area for improvement is the meals. One lunch, they served hot dogs and chili, but we mistook the chili for refried beans. We had a good laugh when I turned the chili upside down, and it stuck to the serving bowl. Also, my mother mentioned that the scrambled eggs are too dry; she now prefers oatmeal instead. Overall, thumbs up to Orchard Park—we love it, and I'm impressed with the staff's performance, care, and consideration. We're here to stay!

"Assisted living staff amazing; food variety and portions lacking."

So far, things are going pretty well at the assisted living facility. The staff is awesome. However, the food could use more variety and larger portions.

"New and Clean with Friendly Staff"

The facility is new and very clean. It passed my 'smell test,' which is important to me. The staff all seem very nice.

"Affordable with lots of memory care-oriented services"

I moved my mother from another memory care facility that I didn't like. They struggled with special diets, especially for people who couldn't chew. She didn't enjoy her time there. The memory care room here in Kyle is $1100 cheaper per month than the previous place. Orchard Park offers more services and caters to people with special dietary needs. The person in charge is very hands-on. I'm happy with this place and recommend others to check it out.

"Friendly staff, clean space, and safe for Mom"

"A Top Choice"

Orchard Park of Kyle is a great choice for the price. After looking around a lot, we picked this facility for our mom. It's brand new and really nice. The dining area is beautiful, and they serve food on regular plates to make it feel like home. As for activities, there aren't a ton, but there are some. One downside is that they don't always answer the phone I've tried all five lines, and no one picks up.

"Bright and Welcoming Assisted Living Facility"

Even though we had a scheduled visit, they weren't expecting us. But they warmly greeted us and gave us a tour. The place was really clean with lots of bright lights, which I liked. The people living there looked nice, all dressed well and taken care of. I really enjoyed the library and the outside areas. The only downside was that the closets in the rooms were pretty small. But overall, this place is definitely a top choice for my mom.

"Active, Nice-Looking Community"

We toured this community when we were looking into care options for our loved one. It was a very nice-looking community with lots of activities going on. It seemed like a great place for a more active senior. However, it was also one of the more expensive options we looked at. And here's the summarized headline: . It captures the essence of the review succinctly! 😊 If you need any further assistance or have more reviews to rewrite, feel free to ask!

"Great Experience at Orchard"

When we visited Orchard, we saw it’s a pretty new place that’s clean and nice. The staff is awesome, and my mother-in-law’s room will be just two doors down from the nursing station. Even though she loves to read, they have lots of activities. The studio is small, so we might need to downsize her furniture.

"Doing an Excellent Job with Care and Activities"

So far, they’ve done a fantastic job taking care of my loved one, and we are very happy with them! It’s a brand-new community, but they’re already really good at having friendly and helpful staff. They’re excellent at getting residents involved in activities and learning what everyone likes and dislikes about food, so they can adjust the menu to fit everyone’s tastes.
