"Impressive Assisted Living with Some Limitations"
Our family visited Poet's Walk for an in-person tour. They answered our questions, but lacked specific knowledge about dementia systems and care. Unfortunately, they couldn't provide an average employee turnover time frame. On the positive side, they included all residents, even those who were bedridden, in activities. The staff used tablets to stay informed about residents' status. Overall, we were still impressed with the place.

"Understaffed and Neglectful: A Disappointing Experience at Assisted Living Facility"
This place was not good. The people who helped were okay, but it seemed like the real problem was with the bosses. They need to do a better job of running things and helping people because it's not good enough. They only had two helpers and one person giving out medicine for 38 people on each shift. And the medicine person doesn't help with things like bathing. That's not enough people to take care of that many people with different levels of memory problems. My mom was supposed to stay there for 30 days to give me a break, but I had to take her back home after just 5 days. They didn't help her with her food, she was left dirty, and she fell and hurt herself without anyone seeing. She had a big bruise on her hip. I had to take her to the hospital to get checked out because they didn't know what to do. I'm glad I know about nursing, or else I wouldn't have known what to do. If you don't know about nursing, I would think hard before putting your loved one here. Even when I stayed with my mom from morning until night, they still didn't take care of her well. The person in charge of activities never even asked us if we wanted to join anything. The girls who worked there were nice, but there just weren't enough of them to take care of everyone properly.

"Mixed Experience with Compassionate Staff but Poor Management"
Her laundry often got lost, and they were slow to respond to her needs. Sometimes, the head nurse wasn't very nice and got upset when we had concerns. However, several daily staff members were kind and caring. She passed away from COVID, and I believe the facility should have had stricter protocols. No one has reached out since her passing, which was really surprising and disappointing. We never felt any compassion from them.

"Great value, modern community with responsive staff"
This is a great place for your loved one. The community is just five years old and offers the best value. The staff keeps in touch with the family very well. They are quick to fix any problems and always welcome family questions.

"Great initial experience; clean place, with room for improvement"
The initial experience was great. They took their time with me and made sure I was ready for my loved one’s move. The staff are nice and really care about my loved one. The place is very clean. I think the community could use a bit more help, but that’s something you see everywhere these days. No place is perfect. Overall, I’d feel okay recommending this place for someone’s loved one.

"Great care, many activities, pricey but worth it."
We had a bit of a rough start with her meds, but now that she has settled in, things are going great. Poet's Walk is a memory care facility, and we liked their focus on that. It’s smaller, offering more personalized and intimate care. They have many activities, so she’s not in her room much. It’s quite pricey, but the quality of care is excellent and the staff is very knowledgeable. I’d definitely recommend it for memory care.

"Limited visiting hours affected our decision; otherwise, great option."
Our family visited in person and thought this could be a good choice, but the restricted visiting times wouldn't fit our needs.
