"Good staff, right place for brother."
The kitchen and housekeeping staff are nice. I haven't talked much to the other staff. The front desk person left unexpectedly, but it's still the right place for my brother.

"Renaissance Assisted Living: Money Over Care"
Even though I had planned to move into the Renaissance, my breast cancer diagnosis changed everything. I decided to recover at home instead. When I asked for a refund, they refused and even charged me extra. This expensive mistake has shown me that money matters more than care at the Renaissance. I won't recommend it to anyone.

"Mixed Quality and Activities at Holiday Renaissance"
The Holiday Renaissance Austin place is working on getting better overall. The food is okay sometimes but not so good at other times. It would be better if they had more activities led by the Activity Director instead of expecting residents to do everything.

"Residents' Friendliness Shines Despite Poor Food Quality"
The food they make for us here is really bad, but I really like how friendly everyone is. Right now, I'm not sure if I would tell other families to choose Holiday Renaissance-Austin until they make the food better.

"Friendly Assisted Living with Some Communication and Cleaning Improvements"
My family member lives at Holiday Renaissance - Austin. At first, it took a while to get messages across, but now it's a bit quicker. He's been there for just over two months and only saw the cleaning crew once. I'm not sure what they're supposed to do for him. Overall, I think this place is good and would tell others about it. When we visited, we liked that people in the dining hall seemed happy there, which helped us decide.

"Holiday Corporate Assisted Living Needs Improvement, Say Residents"
They told me that the new team from Holiday Corporate doesn't answer calls for help as quickly. They also seem more interested in making money than helping us. They've reduced how much they spend on food for meals in the dining room. They both said they haven't experienced other places, but they think it could be better. They've heard of worse places, though.

"Quiet, nice setting; needs less salty food, better activities."
Holiday Renaissance is a very quiet community, which our loved one really likes. There are a lot of trees and nature around the building, and her apartment is a nice size, which is a positive. For improvements, the food could use less salt, as it's a common complaint among residents. The activities have a nice variety, but they could be better planned and include more encouragement.

"Assisted Living Review: Mixed Feelings About Holiday Renaissance"
I visited Holiday Renaissance twice. It's close to home, which I liked. However, it's old, a bit dirty, and has a tiny dining area. On our second visit with my husband, our first tour guide had already left. The second guide talked too much. The place looked dingy, and one apartment had bugs. People seemed happy, but it wasn't clean enough for my dad.

"Great Location and Grounds, But Needs Better Housekeeping and Activities"
The staff was short on housekeepers, so my loved one didn’t get regular cleaning. Also, there weren’t many fun activities for active residents. On the bright side, the grounds are private, quiet, and beautiful. I chose this place mainly because of its location, and also because the apartment size and location were just right.

"Charming assisted living with friendly staff and full kitchens."
This place is really nice! It's like a big house where older folks can live by themselves or get help if they need it. The apartments are pretty big and everyone there is super nice, including the staff and the other people who live there. You get your own kitchen, too! They also give you this thing called a Lively"device, kind of like Life Alert, to help you if you need it. The price depends on how much help you need, but it seems reasonable. We're definitely thinking about living here.

"Great place for independent living with a top buffet!"
My dad and I stayed here for a year, and it’s a fantastic place for someone who wants to live independently and enjoys walking. The grounds and the entrance are lovely. A lot of the people we met are still there, even after we left three years ago when my dad needed extra care. They have the best buffet ever!

"One Place Not Good For Mom, Needs Redecorating"
I visited several places and I didn't really like this one. It was designed for folks who can live on their own, and my mother needs more assistance than that. Plus, the place itself seemed old and sad, not very bright. I think it could definitely use some remodeling.

"Great care and activities, but menu needs improvement"
I like the care my mom gets from the staff here. They pay attention to her needs and keep the place clean and well-kept. However, the menu could use some improvement because there are too many sandwiches on the weekends. They encourage my mom to join in activities with other residents, which is nice. Sometimes, they could use more staff. Overall, I would recommend this place for taking care of a loved one.

"Assisted Living Needs More Rooms!"
We had a nice tour of Renaissance-Austin. The community is well-maintained, and the apartment we saw was pleasant. However, they only provide one wing for assisted living, and preference is given to those in independent living. It would be better if they had more rooms available for assisted living.

"Father Thriving and Happy at Renaissance"
My father has been doing great since moving to the Renaissance. I’m really thankful because he seems to enjoy everything there. The building is a bit older than some other places, but the staff is amazing—very kind and always ready to help. They have nurses on-site just in case something happens. My dad's been at the Renaissance for a month. When we toured, he kept saying how comfy he felt there. Barbara and Mary are amazing. They really pay attention to everyone and everything. When we needed stuff fixed, it got done fast. Dad loves all the things he can do there. The people, both staff and residents, are super nice. I totally suggest the Renaissance!

"Liked Living Here, But Rent Hiked With No Extras"
We really liked staying here. There were plenty of brain-challenging activities and the buffet was an added perk. But, they raised our yearly cost by $3100 within a year without giving us any extra amenities. It seems they want the residents to haggle. It's sad we have to move now.

"Staff and locale impressive, atmosphere not pleasing"
We visited this location when figuring out some choices for a family member. The people working here really made an impression on me, they were super nice and did their jobs well. The building and the outdoor area were really pretty. But the overall vibe of the place didn't feel right. It felt like a traditional 'old folks home', which I didn't believe would be the best place for my family member.

"Aged facility falls short despite good location, nice outdoor area."
The building is 27 years old and the rooms look like they have not been renovated since it was built. One of the hallways had a bad smell and there were flies in the dining room. The nurse is friendly, and the outdoor area is nicely kept up. But based on those issues, I don't think this facility will be a good fit. On the plus side, its location is good. Perhaps by August, some improvement might be done as it's really too old currently.

"Wonderful place with great food and beautiful views"
We love it here! There are lots of activities, but I haven't joined any yet because I have trouble getting around. Every day, there are plenty of things to do. The food is great with a salad, an entrée, and a small dessert. We have a two-bedroom apartment with a living room, kitchen, and a little front yard. Rent covers everything except phone and internet. The people here are very nice and handle any issues quickly. If you’re interested, contact Pat—she’s wonderful and will show you around. We enjoy a beautiful view with trees and see deer every morning. The community is horseshoe-shaped with a courtyard where we walk our dog. It’s wonderful.

"Lush Surroundings but Unimpressive Food at Recently Acquired Facility"
Eight building complex situated in a beautiful tree-filled area, set back from the main street. The place is 25 years old and was recently bought by Holiday. Only got to see two types of rooms, one was under construction though. We did have lunch there, which was ordinary. They just had two main dishes, neither of which appealed to us. They operate on a full meal plan, which doesn't work for us. The place was completely full and didn't seem to have any upcoming vacancies. There were 32 assisted living units on-site.
