"Inhumane Treatment and Law Violations at a Texas Assisted Living"
Our experience at SFT Assisted Living was awfully poor. I wouldn't suggest it to anyone – not even to animals. The person in charge seems heartless and without any shred of kindness. I can only give them some credit for keeping the place clean and serving decent food. Despite that, the tablecloths in the dining area always looked dirty. I had to complain to the Texas state authorities because my dear one, who needed constant oxygen at 3 litres, was left without it for hours. After my father passed away, we didn't hear a single word from SFT. No condolence call or message, not even a sympathy card. It's simply heartless. When I requested to see their policy and procedure handbook denied me. That's against the law. Everyone in Texas should have public access to that information. Their memory care unit is always understaffed. Despite having only around a dozen residents, there were four incidents of falls during my loved one's stay. Sadly, one resulted in death.

"Caring Memory Care with Room to Improve"
In the memory care unit, the caregivers are really calm and nice. They let the residents have a lot of freedom, which is good. I think they could use a few more staff members, but they do their best with what they have. The building is older but kept up well, and they're fixing it up. It's always clean and looks new, and the outside area is nice. The price is fair compared to other places nearby.

"Great Prices and Perfect Apartment Sizes"
This place offers both assisted living and memory care. The apartment sizes are just right, and the prices are great.”

"Great care, but rising costs and bland food are concerns."
My mom has lived at Santa Fe Trails for a long time. The staff and care are usually very good, with less turnover compared to other places. The food, though, is quite bland and reminds me of camp food. She complains about it a lot, but it's still better than scout camp and usually edible. Our biggest issue is the cost increase. We started with competitive fees and accepted small yearly increases without complaints. But since 2018, we've seen a 10% increase and were recently told of another 10% rise, bringing our monthly cost to over $1,000, or an extra $12,000 a year. We're now looking for other options, even though my mom is happy where she is.

"Great amenities, but small apartments"
This place is in a nice area. The halls are wide and it’s really quiet. There’s a library, bistro, dining room, private dining room, and an activities room. The open areas and outdoor courtyard are great. The apartments are small, but they have a microwave and a small refrigerator in the kitchen area.

"Nice staff, less homey feel than other options"
We liked this place, but it didn't feel as homey as others. The staff answered all our questions and gave us a tour. They were willing to work with us, but we chose somewhere else.
