"Warm staff and good communication, though our time was short"

We were at Spanish Oaks for just two weeks before mom passed away, so we don’t have a lot of experience with the facility. The staff was very kind and attentive, and the directors were always available to answer our questions and keep us informed.

"Not Fancy, Mostly Dementia Patients"

I'd say if your loved one doesn't have memory problems, this might not be the best place. Most people there had severe dementia or were near the end of their lives. It could be pretty sad to be there if you're not in a similar condition. The room sizes are okay, but I don't have anything to compare them to. The place isn't fancy.

"Assisted Living Needs More Activities, Better Communication for Families"

This place is for people who need help but not as much as in a nursing home. Some of the residents seem unhappy, not because they're treated badly, but because they're bored and lonely. They just sit in front of the TV every day. Most of them are really old, so there might not be much they can do. One problem I had was when my mom died there. The owners always left by noon, and my mom passed away in the afternoon. They didn't even call to say sorry. I didn't hear anything from them, which bothered me a lot. Mom was there for a little over two weeks, and they charged a lot of money for that time, but I never got a card or anything. That seemed like bad business to me. They were nice when mom was admitted, and hospice was there for her last few days, but once noon came, they and the owners were gone. If they had just said sorry, it would have made a big difference, but it felt like they didn't really care. The regular staff I talked to were great though.

"Clean and friendly, but staffing could be improved"

Our loved one stayed there briefly, and we really liked how clean the place was and how friendly the staff was. However, we did feel that sometimes there weren’t enough staff to help all the residents at once.

"Caring staff, clean, good food, mostly shared rooms."

This home really cares for their residents. I would recommend their facility. It's very clean. They offer a good variety of food with decent portions. They adapted as my loved one's condition got worse and helped however they could. My only hesitation at first was that most rooms are shared, but I understand the value for the money.

"Charming, Clean Facility with Happy Residents – Location Was Issue"

We really liked Spanish Oak. It's a smaller place, very nice, clean, and smells great when you walk in. The owners impressed us, and during our tour, they were serving lunch. The food looked tasty, and the residents seemed happy and were eating together. It would have been perfect for Mom, but the location didn’t work out.

"Flexible visiting, good meals, supportive manager, peaceful environment."

Visiting hours are flexible, allowing me to see my loved one whenever I want, which is great. Visitors can come as early as 8 AM until bedtime. After a previous place with strict Covid restrictions, I really appreciate this freedom. Meals are served in shifts, so it's important to be on time. They offer pureed food and a variety of other meals like PB&J, macaroni with meat sauce, and pasta with shrimp. Desserts are hit or miss. Activities are available but not always consistent, and they could improve in this area. However, the value is excellent, and the rate won’t increase, which is reassuring. The manager is supportive, listens to concerns, and helps with staff shortages. They have good on-site healthcare support, and the environment is generally peaceful. The staff are positive, get along well, and handle tough days with clients effectively.

"Warning: Inadequate Dementia Care at Spanish Oaks Assisted Living"

My relative with memory issues went to Spanish Oaks for help. But it turned out really bad. This happened a while ago, but I'm sharing now to warn others. We told them a lot of times that our relative needed a lot of help with thinking. But the boss still said yes to taking them in. Even when we were going to move our relative somewhere else, the boss said they'd get more helpers if we paid more each month. Maybe they meant well, but they should know when to stop if their workers aren't trained for dementia. I think this place can't handle dementia patients based on what happened to us.

"Great location and big rooms, but staff could be friendlier"

We picked Spanish Oak because it's close to our family, so if something happens, we can get there quickly. The rooms are really big there are three beds in one room, and there's still space to move around. She loves the food and always finishes her meals. I think the staff could be friendlier to family members when we visit. The location is nice, tucked away in the trees, and they have a huge patio in the backyard, which is great for visiting Mom. I'd recommend it to others who are looking.

Spanish Oak has been great for our family. It's a small, friendly place where the staff really gets to know the residents. My parents are doing well there. The food is excellent, and we're very pleased.

"Appearance of Property Outdated"

I visited this assisted living facility, and it seems like they need updates both inside and outside. The staff was friendly, and the residents appeared settled. Overall, it was okay, but not the right fit for my mom.

"A welcoming home"

The people who take care of us are always around and make sure we know what's going on. There are lots of staff for the residents, and the owners are really great. The food is homemade and good for us. They celebrate special days like birthdays and holidays. The place where we live is very nice, and they remember our names and preferences. I would definitely recommend this care home.

"A Caring Community"

The staff here takes great care of my mom. They could improve their training for dementia residents. The food looks and smells good, and the place is very clean. They have card games and bingo, but I wish they had more activities for residents with memory problems. I've already recommended this care home.

"A wonderful situation"

There's a kind caregiver who checks on Mom and takes good care of her. They try to meet Mom's dietary needs and help her stay active. The home is great, with spacious common areas. The owner keeps in touch with me. I'd recommend this care home.
