"Great place with friendly staff and lots of activities!"
We’re really happy with this place. It’s clean, looks nice, and the staff are friendly. We chose it because it’s a smaller community, which should help Mom feel more at home. The care seems excellent, and there are lots of activities to keep everyone busy. The decorations are great too, which makes the place feel really welcoming.

"I Had a Pleasant Visit with Sandra"
I had a pleasant visit with Sandra. She and her husband live next door, so she accommodated my short tour request even though I missed her yesterday. The cost is $4,000 per month for either a semi-private or private room. The semi-private room she showed me was quite spacious, like a master bedroom divided by a curtain. K would have her own vanity in the split private bathroom, along with a closet. If a private room opens up, she can move in at no extra cost. They always have two staff members on duty during the day, and the backyard is beautifully landscaped. Activities happen from 3 to 5 PM, with a flexible schedule. Sandra is passionate about music therapy. It's a Type B home, so K could stay here indefinitely. During my tour, ladies from a local church were visiting, and I liked that each chair had a name tag. People were awake, and the TV was on for those not talking. Although I didn't chat with the ladies, they seemed similar to K in abilities. They handle residents with sundowners using redirection techniques before medication. Medication comes from Garland Independent Pharmacy or family-provided bottles. They also have visiting nurses, doctors, and a podiatrist from Baylor Home system. Basic cable is available if we bring a TV. No individual phone setup, but the house phone works. A mobile dentist and hairdresser visit regularly. Church volunteers come for bible study and worship services. The downsides are the higher price and the distance from our house for regular visits and Sunday commute.
