St. John's Residential Care II

"Compassionate care and clean environment made a big difference"
My sister and I moved our dad to St. John's in East Fort Worth after his rehab didn’t go well. The owner and her caring staff took great care of him. The place was always clean, and the caregivers were friendly and welcoming. We both think moving him here was the best decision. Sadly, our dad passed away shortly after moving in. Even though his time there was brief, we know he received the most compassionate care at St. John's during his last days. Thank you so much.

"Disorganized and Uncaring Assisted Living Facility"
I would never recommend this place to anyone. It's totally disorganized. We visited at 5 pm and didn't see or smell any food being prepared. When we asked about dinner, the staff member told us it would be sometime between 5 and 6:30 pm. They didn't have any planned activities because, supposedly, the residents don't want to participate. It was obvious that the staff member wasn't trained to care for people with Alzheimer's, and the memory care setup was lacking. The shared room was tiny and dirty. And, to top it off, they still had Christmas decorations up in May!

"Lacking Activities, but Exceptional Staff and Food"
The staff here is really nice. The food is tasty and there's plenty of it. The only downside is there aren't any fun things to do. No bingo, no group activities, no group rosary, no Mass. I used to have lots to keep me busy, but now I just sit around, read, and watch TV, so I'm bored. I understand that maybe for the price I pay, I can't expect too many activities, but I still want to say that the people here are great and they treat me really well.

"Unwelcoming Atmosphere and Odd Smells in Private Care Home"
This could be a decent privately financed care home. They serve about 5-6 people living together in a house, and it looks like they take good care of their residents. We only spent 5 minutes touring the place with a guide. It doesn't really fit the type of care I'm searching for. There were some odd smells I didn't like, and the atmosphere wasn't very inviting or friendly.

"Not the Care Option I Wanted, Felt Unwelcomed and Smelly"
This might be a solid 'private pay' elder care choice. They take care of around 5-6 folks who live together in a house. It seems like they give good care to the people who live there. We only spent around 5 minutes in one of these homes while someone gave us a tour. However, this isn't the kind of caretaking option I was hoping to find. The place had some unpleasant smells, and I didn't feel very welcomed or comfortable there.

"Mixed Feelings About Assisted Living Facility"
I visited this place and thought it was nice. The lady helping us was really kind. But, even though I liked it, I didn't think it would be right for my loved one.

"Impressed but Not Ideal"
I toured here and was favorably impressed with the community. The lady helping us was very nice. However, even though I liked the community, I don't think it would be the best fit for my loved one.

"Attentive staff creates homelike atmosphere; perfect for loved ones."
We chose this place for my family member, and it's great. The staff is amazing, always there when we need them. They even helped when my loved one had to go to the hospital. It feels like home here, and they make sure everyone is happy, even if they don't join in activities. They have a beautiful backyard too. I'd tell others to check it out.

"Nice Place, but No Openings"
This community was our first choice. It's connected to the hospital, so it has a strict routine. The place is clean, and the people were friendly. Unfortunately, there wasn't an opening when we were looking.

"Highly Recommend this Assisted Living"
This place is great! The people who take care of you are always paying attention and ready to assist. For every three people, there’s one caregiver! The food is okay, and they listen to what you want. They even go the extra mile! The place is always neat and tidy. You pay one fixed fee, and they provide skilled nursing care.

"Limited Options, Small Space, Mom Unhappy"
The tour was fine, but Mom didn't like it. Room small, food limited. Wanted more restaurant-like experience.

"Amazing staff and highly recommended!"
The staff at this community have been amazing. I can't thank them enough for all the help they've given my mom. I also love how they keep me involved in her treatment plan. They work with me like we're one big family, figuring out the best solutions for my mom. I wish there were more places like this, and I highly recommend it.

"Warm Staff, Clean Rooms, Improve Communication and Fresh Food!"
My family member loves this place! The workers are super nice and always make her feel welcome. Her room is always clean, which is great. I just wish the nurses would talk to me more. Also, she says they need more fresh fruits and veggies instead of canned ones.

"“Comfortable Care at St. Johns”"
We recently moved our Mom to St. Johns. She got used to the new home quickly and feels very comfortable there. The staff was super helpful and showed a lot of concern for Mom and us too. Even though I don’t live in Fort Worth, I visit Mom often, and I always feel welcome as a family member. I’m confident that Mom is well taken care of.

"Great care, improved health, few activities, very impressed visitors."
My loved one is doing really well here and has improved a lot. Within a month, they had his pain under control. They don’t do many activities, which is my only issue. It seems like the residents don’t want to do much. The staff is very attentive and caring. It feels more homey, and they really care. I would recommend them to anyone. Everyone who has visited has been very impressed.

"A Wonderful New Home for Dad"
My dad is 90 and has been living at St. John's for about three weeks. My siblings and I couldn’t be happier. We’ve made surprise visits at different times of day and night, and we’re always welcomed by friendly faces. The place is clean and organized, and there’s often a tasty smell coming from the kitchen. Dad always looks clean and gets the care and attention he was missing before. He tells us how much he likes the staff and how well they treat him. We’re so thankful we found such a great place for him.

"Great Staff, Unwelcoming Environment"
We checked out this place while trying to find a good spot for my family member. I really dug the people working here - super nice and knew their stuff - but I didn't really like the place itself. It felt dank and not too welcoming.
