The Delaney at South Shore

"Friendly Staff, Active Tours, New Resident Experience Positive"
This assisted living facility has doctors available four days a week and groceries delivered twice a week. The staff is very nice, but some residents stick together in groups, which might be because I'm new and haven't made many friends yet. They offer lots of opportunities to explore the area on bus tours provided by the facility.

"Great care and staff, but one issue with facility behavior"
I had the chance to have my mother cared for at The Delaney at South Shore until she passed away, and I strongly recommend this place. The care, kindness, and professionalism from the staff are really impressive. A special shoutout goes to [name removed] and her team of nurses. They went out of their way to ensure my mother was well taken care of. Their dedication and genuine concern for the residents are clear in everything they do. The kitchen staff also did a fantastic job. They made mealtimes enjoyable for my mother, showing their commitment to making the residents happy. However, no place is perfect. I did run into one person at the facility who was unprofessional and toxic. I’ve shared this concern with the management and hope they will take the right steps to fix it.

"Good place but lacked diversity, so I kept looking"
I visited this community and thought it was nice. I wanted a place with diverse residents, but I didn’t see much of that here. It’s a good spot, but I decided to keep looking.

"Front Disguise Fades at Assisted Living Facility"
First impressions seemed good, but within the first week of our father being there, it became clear they were just putting on a nice facade. The nurses in memory care only help when it's convenient for them. They appear understaffed and often leave patients sitting in front of the TV watching soap operas. Unfortunately, there's no memory care therapy to engage patients' brains. It feels like a slow decline for the patients, which is very disappointing.

"Close to home, needs better food."
They got a new chef, so the food isn't as good. We picked this community because it's closer to my house. It would be nice if they added awareness programs for the residents. I would recommend it to other families.

"Great Care, But Room for Improvement"
My loved one is in independent living and she's very shy. I wish they had someone to help residents make friends, especially at the beginning. They said they would, but they didn't. The food is okay, and she can get anything she wants. The cost is similar to other places. I had another loved one in memory care for a short time, and the memory care staff were amazing. The repair staff are also amazing. The front desk has one very nice person and another who fills in. They could be a bit nicer. They have a cleaning service that comes in once a week, and I haven't seen any dirt or smelled anything bad in the months my loved one has been there. It feels like they promise a lot when you first sign up, but it doesn't quite live up to it once you move in.

"New Community with Spacious Units, Considerate Staff, and Considerations"
This place is new, and they're still building stuff, so it's pretty busy. Surprisingly, it's not too loud, though. We might want to check prices because it seems pricier. The apartments are bigger, and the smallest two-bedroom might be hard to get on the ground floor. When we come back, we should spend more time looking at memory care. They hire CNAs as helpers, not just random young folks. We should check how many helpers there are compared to residents. It seems like they could handle special diets better here.
