"Food Quality Decline in Assisted Living"

I really like how the facility looks. My dad’s room is nice, but the small fridge and microwave are old and don’t work well. Unfortunately, the food quality has declined. They don’t give enough protein to residents, and sometimes it’s too greasy and salty for older folks.

"Assisted Living Facility Review"

The staff is really nice and helpful. They keep everything clean, including the apartments. Moving in was simple with no problems. My mom enjoys the meals and thinks the food is great. I've already told my friends about this place, and they've put their loved ones here too.

"Kind aides, spacious rooms, needs better food and activities"

Mother has been pretty happy with The Laurels. Most of the aides are very kind and helpful to her. She has complained about the food and wishes there were more activities she might like. We chose this place because the rooms were more spacious than others I saw. I also liked that they offered different meal choices instead of just one fixed meal. The building is close to hospitals and doctors' offices, making it easy for me to visit often. Another big plus was the free help with filing for VA benefits.

"Limited outdoor access, construction issues, lacking amenities, unhelpful staff."

The Haven seemed welcoming, but there weren't chances for him to step outside without family. He couldn't have a mini-fridge in his room. The place was being fixed up due to water damage, leaving residents hanging around with nothing to do. Some areas were neglected. It just didn't feel right. The staff representative didn't seem to know much and kept saying they'd have to check on things.

"Great Care and Comfort!"

The staff at The Haven and the Laurels are always friendly when I sign in. They make sure I know how my loved one is doing. If my loved one needs help, the staff responds quickly. Even though I don’t know everyone, the staff I talk to are caring and enjoy being around my loved one. The dining room is in the center of a U-shaped area called a ‘neighborhood.’ It helps my loved one find her way around. The website has photos! In the middle of the U-shape, there’s a hair salon, dining area, and ice cream parlor. It feels like a community. The food is really good, and they make sure my mom gets her favorite snacks. When my loved one asks for snacks, the staff brings them promptly. They offer activities, but my loved one prefers her room. There’s a big calendar with all the activities, and they always invite her. The care and cost balance is excellent! They take good care of my loved one in memory care. I trust them, and she can’t leave the secure area. That’s crucial for her condition."
