"Super Nice Staff and Respectful Care at The Pines"
We picked The Pines at Oakhurst because the staff was super nice and helpful. We felt he would get the care he needed here, and he did. The rooms were okay, a bit small but private, so they worked for him. The best thing about this place was how accommodating they were and how they treated him with great respect. I would recommend it.

"Crowded Assisted Living with Friendly Recommendations"
This place is nice, but too crowded for us. We met a friendly couple who recommended it, but the crowds bothered us.

"Assisted Living Location Nice but Crowded, Mixed Reviews"
"It's a nice place in a good spot, but it's too crowded for us. We met a nice couple who said great things about it, but we just felt too cramped."

"A Friendly and Supportive Home"
The caregivers at this care home are really supportive, friendly, and encouraging. They try to keep the residents active. The food is good, and if a resident doesn't like what's being served, they'll make something different. Residents can eat breakfast anytime. The home is clean, and I would recommend this care home.

Grateful Daughter
"Great place with friendly staff and a welcoming atmosphere."
My father has lived here since he lost his wife. From the moment I walked in for a tour, I was greeted by a friendly dog and the smell of quiche cooking. I knew my dad would be happy here. The manager is nice and capable, and the whole staff is always friendly and helpful, whether in person or on the phone. Even though I live 1,000 miles away, communication is usually good. I call my dad occasionally, though it’s sometimes hard to talk. I also email and call the owner now and then. When I visit, everything is positive. My sister, who lives nearby, visits 2-4 times a month and usually has good things to say. I haven’t seen the activities they offer, but there’s a nice fenced backyard with a bench for calls or fresh air. My only suggestions are to fix the occasional phone issues and maybe add music therapy. Overall, I feel very lucky and relieved. I’m grateful to Pines of Oakhurst.

"Feels like a second family, friendly staff, homey atmosphere"
My dad has been living here since he lost his wife and caretaker of 64 years in November 2014. When I first visited, I was greeted by a friendly dog and the smell of quiche baking—I knew right away this was a good place for Dad. The manager is friendly and capable. The whole staff is always kind and helpful, whether in person or on the phone. I live 1,000 miles away, but communication is usually good. I call sometimes to talk to Dad, even though conversations can be tough. I also email the owner and chat by phone occasionally. When I visit, I always have a positive experience. My sister lives closer and visits 2-4 times a month, and her feedback is usually positive. I can’t speak to the activities offered, but there’s a nice fenced backyard with a bench where visitors can take calls or get some fresh air. My only small issue is that the phone sometimes cuts off when I call, but I can connect on the second try. Maybe some music therapy could be added too. Overall, I’m giving it TWO THUMBS UP. It feels like I hit the jackpot, and a huge burden has been lifted. I’m so thankful for Pines of Oakhurst and everyone there.
