The Village of the Heights

"Extremely dissatisfied; inadequate staff and services, misleading policies. Not recommended."
Totally regret our experience. My parents and I are moving out after just 3 months. If things had been different, we would've moved out sooner. Some of the employees are polite, but they're mostly under-staffed and it seems like most lack proper training. We were assured that this place was pet-friendly, but it turns out many staff members fear dogs and refuse to come into the room because of that. This includes people who give meds and clean - making it a real struggle to guarantee my parents receive their required medication. The room was only tidied twice in the three months we've been here and employees rarely check in on the residents as they are supposed to. We also faced issues with the room's temperature controls right from the start and getting it resolved was a massive hassle. I have a whole list of issues but to sum it up, I'm giving it "one star. Avoid at all costs".

"Disappointing Assisted Living Experience"
It was a waste of money. The person from A Place for Mom was nice and tried to help. We chose this place because she said it was the best for my loved one. She talked badly about the other two places I was considering. She promised to help with any questions or problems, but she never answered me again after we signed up. She's not with the company anymore, and I don't know why. The whole thing was really sad.

"Fewer Staff at Assisted Living Facility"
I visited this place, and it was alright. When compared to other facilities, they appeared to have less staff for each resident. .

"Mixed Experience with Promised Care in The Village Assisted Living"
Some ways The Village can do better are in the care they describe and what they actually do. For instance, they said they could arrange a test for our loved one and get the results on the same day. But when it happened, they didn't arrange the test, and it was never done. Management seemed a bit careless.

"Dedicated Staff and Pleasant Environment Make The Village a Gem"
This assisted living facility has been great overall. The main issue has been with giving medications on time because they don't have enough staff. But since I talked to the manager, there haven't been any more mistakes. The food is good, and my loved one has become friends with the cook. She saves cookies for him that fit his diet, and she and the other staff often spoil him. The people who work there are wonderful, especially the caregivers. They treat the residents like family. The receptionist is amazing. My loved one really likes all the staff. There's another young man who helps the caregivers, and he's very nice, considerate, enthusiastic, and polite. A nurse practitioner checks on the residents' medical care about once a week. They all seem like really caring people there. The place is very clean, and the staff really care about the residents. The residents themselves are really nice. The Village requires masks, which I think is good to help protect a vulnerable population. My loved one enjoys playing dominoes, bingo, and going to exercise classes. The Village is a bit expensive, but it's about the same price or even a little cheaper than other places I looked at.

"Assisted Living Facility Fails to Deliver Adequate Care Despite Costs"
The Villages at The Heights may look nice, there's a great selection of food and plenty of social activities. But underneath that, it doesn't live up to its promises. I feel guilty for not knowing how bad things were for my Dad. Even though we paid extra for better care, we ended up moving him out with two weeks of unwashed clothes, a pee bottle that had not been cleaned out, dirty outfits, diaper rash, and a used diaper. He hadn't had a bath in a week. Some employees were really good, but still, I've had no reply to my email I sent to those in charge back.

"Memory Care at this Facility Disappointing"
I can't suggest their Memory Care place. Mostly, there's a handful of good workers, but the majority don't seem to care and are even found napping in the TV room while the residents just sit in their seats. The meals aren't great. The higher-up staff don't act professional. My relative died there from a sickness that was only found when it was already too late. If the workers had paid more attention to the signs that they were getting worse, there might have been a chance they could have gotten better. My relative should have gotten better treatment.

"Clean and Nice Assisted Living, Not Right Location for Dad"
I visited this place recently and everything went well. The place was clean and had lots of nice stuff. The dining room was big and had a good menu for everyone. But, it wasn't the right spot for my dad in the end.

"Mixed Experience: Great Staff, But Food Disappoints"
My mom likes joining exercise class and sometimes bible study. The staff are awesome. But there’s a problem with this place: the food tastes bad, it’s late, lacks variety, and meat is hard to cut or eat.

"Lovely Common Areas in Upcoming Assisted Living Facility"
This place is gonna be real nice when it's all done. I liked how each floor had nice spots where everyone can hang out together. The way it's decorated is really pretty too.
