"Good care, needs more staff, compassionate death handling"
Common areas are super clean. Rooms could be cleaned more often and better. Everyone knows who you are and most learn your name. The front desk asks how your visit went. They are short on staff and using a reviewed temp service. Caretakers are kind and good, but the changes cause special needs or routines to be overlooked. Temps are informed but don't always understand everything. One resident has aphasia, and temps don't know he needs to be second-guessed. Major needs are understood. Fresh fruits and vegetables are served. Special diets are considered. Special preferences are met when the regular staff and kitchen can. Activities could be more creative. The cottages had really creative and fun activities. This is a really good place. They just need to find the qualified help they are looking for. They are very careful about choosing good caretakers. They handle a resident's death with a lot of compassion.

"Nice facility with great staff, but rooms are small"
I visited this place and it was nice. The staff was great and everything was very clean. However, the rooms were small, and the way they managed things didn’t work well for my loved one. Overall, it was good and might be perfect for someone else.

"A Caring Gem 🌟"
We recently toured this facility and were so impressed that we've decided to move in. The care they provide here is exceptional. My husband will start in assisted living, and if necessary, he can transition to memory care. What makes this place unique is that they prioritize assisted living. Plus, they have an adorable house dog—a beautiful Labradoodle. Overall, it's a fantastic place. We'd rate it 100 out of 100!

[Name removed] is an amazing Executive Director who has worked here for 11 years. They are very involved with both the residents and their families, which is incredibly valuable. The caregivers are very caring and keep families informed about their loved ones. You can call anytime to ask about a resident! This place sets a high standard for compassionate and loving care.

"My Loved One Is in Good Hands"
Although no place is perfect, my loved one is doing well in this community. She's still adjusting to the routine, but I feel comfortable with her move here. The staff communicates well and takes good care of her needs. The community is clean and well-maintained. Meals haven't been an issue, and they offer activities for residents. Transportation to her doctor's appointments has been helpful. I recommend this safe community to family and friends.

I’m very pleased with my father’s move to this community. From the first day I walked in, it felt like home. Everyone was welcoming and kind. I knew if I felt that way, my father would too. "Cozy Community, Friendly Staff"
My mom isn't much of a social butterfly, so having enough space in her room is super important. The place looks good overall, and everyone, both the staff and residents, seem cool with each other. They're really good about keeping everything tidy, especially my mom's room. And whenever I have a problem or a question, they're quick to help out. I'd totally suggest this spot to anyone who asks.

"Perfect Care in a Peaceful Setting"
I absolutely love this place it's amazing! The atmosphere is so calming and peaceful for my dad. The natural light coming in, along with the soothing wall colors and carpet, really adds to the relaxing feel. The staff, including the administration, nurses, aides, and housekeeping, are all fantastic. They are very attentive to my dad and always keep me updated. I also appreciate how the layout of the facility ensures that my dad is visible to the nursing staff wherever he is.

"The best choice for care."
University Village is pretty clean, and the staff has been really helpful. The location isn't ideal; I spend a lot of time traveling back and forth. I looked at other places before choosing this one because it has more caregivers per person. They try hard, but I still need to follow up a lot. I appreciate their good meal choices with plenty of fresh veggies. Plus, if someone doesn't like the menu, they'll bring a grilled chicken piece or something else.

"Needs updating to match newer, more modern facilities"
The staff did a good job explaining their services during our tour. The place was okay but not as modern as we hoped. It had a traditional, old-school nursing home feel. To make it more appealing, they could update the facility to match newer communities.

"Assisted Living Review: University Village in Round Rock, TX"
My family and I visited University Village. It's super tidy and well-organized. Terria was our guide, and she really paid attention to what we needed. She explained how they take care of their guests, which was reassuring. A staff showed us around the place, gave us a peek into some rooms, and answered all our questions. She told us about the fun stuff planned and the areas we could use if we wanted. Plus, she gave us a booklet with more info and prices to take home. Overall, it's a great, clean, and safe spot.

"Review of Assisted Living Facility - Limited Space, Noisy Environment"
Felt too tight. Rooms are small with only a standing closet. There's no shower in the rooms. Continuous alarming sounds. The big patio is loud due to street noise. Staff was friendly and provided lots of details. There's an uncovered gardening patio that gets too much sun...it would be too hot for my mom. I don't think my mom would enjoy it here. They have night motion detectors. The place feels very structured. There's space for a small fridge, but rooms already feel really crowded.

"Disappointed with Overpriced Facility, but Staff was Nice"
I moved my mom into this facility thinking she'd have lots of activity. I'd walk in, though, and see no one busy with anything. When I asked staff about these activities, they seemed clueless. I don't love the food, either. Plus, the charges are way too high. They seemed to be overcharging. On day one, they told me I owed $400 more because they claimed my mom needed more care. She hadn't even been there 24 hours! Overall, I'm disappointed. On the bright side, though, the people were nice and the place was clean.

"Great care and friendly staff."
My mom has dementia, and it was really hard to take care of her. We urgently needed a place for her. I found University Village on aplaceformom.com, and they've been amazing. They got my mom in on a Sunday and made her feel comfortable, even though she didn't want to stay at first. They keep me updated on her meds and health. When I visit Mom once a week, they're friendly and know me by name. I feel good about Mom being there.

"Exceptional Care for Dad from 1,200 Miles Away"
We moved my 98-year-old father, who has dementia, from Ohio to University Village while waiting for my mom to get out of rehab for a broken leg. Since my mom had been his main caregiver and couldn't continue, I needed to find a good place for Dad. Once I reached out to University Village, their team jumped into action to get everything set up quickly and smoothly. When I had to go back to get Mom, the staff kept me updated. When Dad suddenly had to go to the hospital, they arranged everything, sent someone to stay with him in the ER, and visited him daily to help him stay calm, encourage him to eat, and even bring him food. They went above and beyond, which meant more to me than I can say, especially since I don’t have other family nearby. They treated him like family. Dad is doing great now and feels more at home every day. He even asks me what I think of his new "home." The facility is clean, bright, and feels cozy. The staff are incredibly patient, even on tough days, and they take great care of his hygiene needs. They respond quickly to any fall alarms, and everyone from the top administrators to maintenance staff knows the residents by name. The meals and snacks are nutritious and tailored to each person's needs. Mom now lives with me, and we visit Dad several times a week. Every time we arrive, everyone greets us with our names and smiles. It’s a relief to see how well Dad is cared for and liked, and Mom no longer has to worry about his care. She can enjoy spending time with him without that responsibility.

"University Village: Safe, Compassionate Care for Residents with Dementia"
My mom loves her new home. Her room, though small, feels cozy with her things. She has her own bathroom with a sink and toilet. She goes to the spa three times a week for showers in a walk-in tub, which keeps her safe because of her memory problems. Her closet is tiny, so I bring her clothes weekly, but it's probably better for her not to have too many choices. She enjoys the food and the staff's care. Despite the activities available, I worry she might feel lonely sometimes, but her memory issues make it hard for her to be independent. Finding the right level of care is tough, but University Village does it well with kindness and safety.

"No Outside Walking Space"
We visited University Village. They had many activities, but there wasn't much opportunity to go outside. It felt more like a hotel or a hospital. Although they had an indoor activity room, there was no outdoor space for my husband to walk, which was important to us. At his current place, other men with Alzheimer's also enjoy walking outside, so this seems fairly typical.

"Friendly Staff, Needs Better Follow-Up"
They're very friendly and seem really concerned, but I'm having trouble getting follow-ups from the night staff. After an incident, they said they would call me and update me on how things were going, but I had to call them to get updates. This has happened a few times. I expect them to call back instead of me trying to reach them. They're working on some sort of alert signal to prevent more incidents. Sometimes, I'm not sure if it's because of his age and dementia and how much they can watch him, but I wouldn't rate them lower for that. Most of the staff are very friendly and caring, and I can expect follow-through with the day staff and administration. The facilities are very nice and always very clean. I don't have anything to compare it to, but it seemed similar to other places I looked at, and the levels of care were good for the cost.

"Loved the bright, communal feel!"
I really liked the bright natural light in this place! It was great that all the bedrooms opened into the common area for each 'village'. The low wall between the dining and activity area made the space flow nicely. The two wings kept lower functioning residents separate from the higher functioning ones. Unfortunately, when I needed to decide, there wasn't an available room. But there are private rooms within my budget. I'd recommend this property to others.
