"Good care, needs more staff, compassionate death handling"

Common areas are super clean. Rooms could be cleaned more often and better. Everyone knows who you are and most learn your name. The front desk asks how your visit went. They are short on staff and using a reviewed temp service. Caretakers are kind and good, but the changes cause special needs or routines to be overlooked. Temps are informed but don't always understand everything. One resident has aphasia, and temps don't know he needs to be second-guessed. Major needs are understood. Fresh fruits and vegetables are served. Special diets are considered. Special preferences are met when the regular staff and kitchen can. Activities could be more creative. The cottages had really creative and fun activities. This is a really good place. They just need to find the qualified help they are looking for. They are very careful about choosing good caretakers. They handle a resident's death with a lot of compassion.

"Nice facility with great staff, but rooms are small"

I visited this place and it was nice. The staff was great and everything was very clean. However, the rooms were small, and the way they managed things didn’t work well for my loved one. Overall, it was good and might be perfect for someone else.

"A Caring Gem 🌟"

We recently toured this facility and were so impressed that we've decided to move in. The care they provide here is exceptional. My husband will start in assisted living, and if necessary, he can transition to memory care. What makes this place unique is that they prioritize assisted living. Plus, they have an adorable house dog—a beautiful Labradoodle. Overall, it's a fantastic place. We'd rate it 100 out of 100!

"Top-Notch Care and Compassion at This Assisted Living Facility"

[Name removed] is an amazing Executive Director who has worked here for 11 years. They are very involved with both the residents and their families, which is incredibly valuable. The caregivers are very caring and keep families informed about their loved ones. You can call anytime to ask about a resident! This place sets a high standard for compassionate and loving care.

"Decent, but No Privacy in Showers"

Pretty good overall, but the shared dorm showers aren't private.

"Great Experience at Assisted Living Community"

This place is awesome! The staff really go out of their way to help my in-laws settle in. Since moving here, my mother-in-law has improved a lot. They serve good, healthy food and make sure they stay hydrated. Plus, they assist with medications. Overall, it’s been a fantastic experience.

"My Loved One Is in Good Hands"

Although no place is perfect, my loved one is doing well in this community. She's still adjusting to the routine, but I feel comfortable with her move here. The staff communicates well and takes good care of her needs. The community is clean and well-maintained. Meals haven't been an issue, and they offer activities for residents. Transportation to her doctor's appointments has been helpful. I recommend this safe community to family and friends.

"Feels Like Home and Great Care"

I’m very pleased with my father’s move to this community. From the first day I walked in, it felt like home. Everyone was welcoming and kind. I knew if I felt that way, my father would too. The staff here is awesome. I know he’s safe and well cared for. The staff truly goes above and beyond for their residents.

"Cozy Community, Friendly Staff"

My mom isn't much of a social butterfly, so having enough space in her room is super important. The place looks good overall, and everyone, both the staff and residents, seem cool with each other. They're really good about keeping everything tidy, especially my mom's room. And whenever I have a problem or a question, they're quick to help out. I'd totally suggest this spot to anyone who asks.

"Perfect Care in a Peaceful Setting"

I absolutely love this place it's amazing! The atmosphere is so calming and peaceful for my dad. The natural light coming in, along with the soothing wall colors and carpet, really adds to the relaxing feel. The staff, including the administration, nurses, aides, and housekeeping, are all fantastic. They are very attentive to my dad and always keep me updated. I also appreciate how the layout of the facility ensures that my dad is visible to the nursing staff wherever he is.

"The best choice for care."

University Village is pretty clean, and the staff has been really helpful. The location isn't ideal; I spend a lot of time traveling back and forth. I looked at other places before choosing this one because it has more caregivers per person. They try hard, but I still need to follow up a lot. I appreciate their good meal choices with plenty of fresh veggies. Plus, if someone doesn't like the menu, they'll bring a grilled chicken piece or something else.

"I Took a Tour!"

I visited several places, including University Village. It was a nice experience, and everyone there was really friendly. The facility looked clean and well-kept. I didn't see anything negative.

"Great facility with great staff"

My dad stayed at University Village for a month before moving to a skilled nursing facility. The staff genuinely cared about his well-being and handled his personal care needs professionally. I'd recommend University Village for assisted living.

"Needs updating to match newer, more modern facilities"

The staff did a good job explaining their services during our tour. The place was okay but not as modern as we hoped. It had a traditional, old-school nursing home feel. To make it more appealing, they could update the facility to match newer communities.

They seemed really knowledgeable and caring when helping my mom. They were very helpful during a crisis move after my dad passed away and did everything they could to get her settled in.

"Great Place for Assisted Living"

I'm super happy with University Village! It's clean, staff's nice, no stinky smells! Food's tasty, served well, and the director, , is awesome. I picked it 'cause it has a workout room and a salon. Security's tight. Rooms are cool and can be changed up. There's a doctor on call and quick prescription fills.

This community is wonderful for my wife. The staff takes great care of her, and everything is clean and well-maintained. They offer enjoyable activities, and she's pleased with the diverse meals. We highly recommend it to other families seeking excellent care.

"Top-Notch Care!"

The University Village takes excellent care of my father. They ensure his safety and prevent any accidents. The friendly caregivers and staff communicate well. If anything happens, they promptly notify me. The place is also clean and organized. I highly recommend it to families.

"Lovely Assisted Living Community with Helpful Tour Guide"

I had a really good time on the tour. The lady who showed me around was super nice and told me lots of useful stuff, especially about taking care of people with dementia. The place looked awesome, all tidy and neat. The tour was great, and I think this community is really nice.

"A great place with excellent staff!"

I totally recommend this place. My mom is doing well at University Village. They have nice grounds and a luau this weekend. The food is good, though a bit bland for her taste. The staff keeps us well-informed about her care.

"Assisted Living Review: University Village in Round Rock, TX"

My family and I visited University Village. It's super tidy and well-organized. Terria was our guide, and she really paid attention to what we needed. She explained how they take care of their guests, which was reassuring. A staff showed us around the place, gave us a peek into some rooms, and answered all our questions. She told us about the fun stuff planned and the areas we could use if we wanted. Plus, she gave us a booklet with more info and prices to take home. Overall, it's a great, clean, and safe spot.

"Review of Assisted Living Facility - Limited Space, Noisy Environment"

Felt too tight. Rooms are small with only a standing closet. There's no shower in the rooms. Continuous alarming sounds. The big patio is loud due to street noise. Staff was friendly and provided lots of details. There's an uncovered gardening patio that gets too much sun...it would be too hot for my mom. I don't think my mom would enjoy it here. They have night motion detectors. The place feels very structured. There's space for a small fridge, but rooms already feel really crowded.

"Outstanding Care and Genuine Concern at University Village - Round Rock"

The director was fantastic and super knowledgeable! She gave us great tips for this new chapter with our mom and really seemed to care about our situation, not just about getting us to choose the facility.

"Enjoyed touring University Village; wished for more windows."

The tour of University Village was enjoyable. We really liked how active it seemed. But we decided not to pick it because not all rooms had windows. Some rooms only looked out onto the courtyard, and my loved one wanted to see the outside world.

"Disappointed with Overpriced Facility, but Staff was Nice"

I moved my mom into this facility thinking she'd have lots of activity. I'd walk in, though, and see no one busy with anything. When I asked staff about these activities, they seemed clueless. I don't love the food, either. Plus, the charges are way too high. They seemed to be overcharging. On day one, they told me I owed $400 more because they claimed my mom needed more care. She hadn't even been there 24 hours! Overall, I'm disappointed. On the bright side, though, the people were nice and the place was clean.

"Caring Staff and Clean Environment at Round Rock Residence"

My mom's been at the facility for just over a week, and she seems to be settling in nicely. She's still dealing with anxiety, but we're hopeful her condition will improve over time. The place is really clean, and the staff is friendly!

"Excellent memory care with friendly, professional staff!"

University Village does an amazing job! I've been to a lot of different communities, and University Village stands out as one of the best for memory care. The staff is friendly, professional, and always ready to help with any problems. I can't say enough good things about them. I highly recommend this place!

"Nice, Modern Assisted Living"

We checked out this place when we were exploring care choices for a family member. It looked really nice and modern, and the staff were all friendly. The building was clean, and it had some cool architecture. I also appreciated the walk-in tubs.

"Great care and friendly staff."

My mom has dementia, and it was really hard to take care of her. We urgently needed a place for her. I found University Village on aplaceformom.com, and they've been amazing. They got my mom in on a Sunday and made her feel comfortable, even though she didn't want to stay at first. They keep me updated on her meds and health. When I visit Mom once a week, they're friendly and know me by name. I feel good about Mom being there.

"My husband is much happier here than at home."

My husband lives here, and the staff is amazing. The community is lively and cheerful, not like a prison. The staff really gets to know the residents and pays attention to personal details. I’m so happy with the care. My husband is much happier here than he was at home.

"Great place"

It was awesome. I just had to call and share my father's needs, and they found the perfect home for him. Moving him from Missouri to Texas was so easy. I highly recommend them for anyone needing help with their loved ones!

"Exceptional Care for Dad from 1,200 Miles Away"

We moved my 98-year-old father, who has dementia, from Ohio to University Village while waiting for my mom to get out of rehab for a broken leg. Since my mom had been his main caregiver and couldn't continue, I needed to find a good place for Dad. Once I reached out to University Village, their team jumped into action to get everything set up quickly and smoothly. When I had to go back to get Mom, the staff kept me updated. When Dad suddenly had to go to the hospital, they arranged everything, sent someone to stay with him in the ER, and visited him daily to help him stay calm, encourage him to eat, and even bring him food. They went above and beyond, which meant more to me than I can say, especially since I don’t have other family nearby. They treated him like family. Dad is doing great now and feels more at home every day. He even asks me what I think of his new "home." The facility is clean, bright, and feels cozy. The staff are incredibly patient, even on tough days, and they take great care of his hygiene needs. They respond quickly to any fall alarms, and everyone from the top administrators to maintenance staff knows the residents by name. The meals and snacks are nutritious and tailored to each person's needs. Mom now lives with me, and we visit Dad several times a week. Every time we arrive, everyone greets us with our names and smiles. It’s a relief to see how well Dad is cared for and liked, and Mom no longer has to worry about his care. She can enjoy spending time with him without that responsibility.

"New Facility with Great Amenities, Clean Spaces, and Security"

The building is nice and new, really well-kept and clean. It has beautiful outdoor spaces for gardening or relaxing, and it's safe for residents who need memory care. The living areas are big and comfy, with lots of computers, TVs, games, and more. There are great amenities like a hair salon, exercise room, and the food looked delicious.

"University Village is an answer to prayer."

I really liked University Village. The place is clean and welcoming. The staff are nice and helpful. When I visited, I knew it was the right home for my mom. She's well taken care of, and I can relax knowing she's in good hands. University Village feels like an answer to our prayers

"Great Assisted Living for 63 Residents!"

There are 63 residents in this assisted living facility. They have shared rooms, with level 1 costing $3,950 and level 2 at $4,350 (maximum $4,750). The medical staff on-site is excellent. I spoke with Terria Jones.

"Great Atmosphere and Care, Slow on Paperwork"

University Village is a wonderful place that feels like home in all its units. The caregivers are kind and helpful. The administration, however, is a bit slow with paperwork.

"Nice place, but not ideal for aunt needing private space."

This place was really nice, but it wasn't exactly what we were looking for my aunt. She needs her own space, not just a bedroom. It's important for her to have her own complete bathroom too.

"University Village: Safe, Compassionate Care for Residents with Dementia"

My mom loves her new home. Her room, though small, feels cozy with her things. She has her own bathroom with a sink and toilet. She goes to the spa three times a week for showers in a walk-in tub, which keeps her safe because of her memory problems. Her closet is tiny, so I bring her clothes weekly, but it's probably better for her not to have too many choices. She enjoys the food and the staff's care. Despite the activities available, I worry she might feel lonely sometimes, but her memory issues make it hard for her to be independent. Finding the right level of care is tough, but University Village does it well with kindness and safety.

"No Outside Walking Space"

We visited University Village. They had many activities, but there wasn't much opportunity to go outside. It felt more like a hotel or a hospital. Although they had an indoor activity room, there was no outdoor space for my husband to walk, which was important to us. At his current place, other men with Alzheimer's also enjoy walking outside, so this seems fairly typical.

"Friendly Staff, Needs Better Follow-Up"

They're very friendly and seem really concerned, but I'm having trouble getting follow-ups from the night staff. After an incident, they said they would call me and update me on how things were going, but I had to call them to get updates. This has happened a few times. I expect them to call back instead of me trying to reach them. They're working on some sort of alert signal to prevent more incidents. Sometimes, I'm not sure if it's because of his age and dementia and how much they can watch him, but I wouldn't rate them lower for that. Most of the staff are very friendly and caring, and I can expect follow-through with the day staff and administration. The facilities are very nice and always very clean. I don't have anything to compare it to, but it seemed similar to other places I looked at, and the levels of care were good for the cost.

"Great Place, Friendly Staff"

We picked University Village because they had an open spot right away, and the staff is super friendly. During our tour, we liked the people and the community a lot. We've been really happy with them so far and would suggest it to anyone needing a memory care community.

"Loved the bright, communal feel!"

I really liked the bright natural light in this place! It was great that all the bedrooms opened into the common area for each 'village'. The low wall between the dining and activity area made the space flow nicely. The two wings kept lower functioning residents separate from the higher functioning ones. Unfortunately, when I needed to decide, there wasn't an available room. But there are private rooms within my budget. I'd recommend this property to others.

"Welcoming Assisted Living with Bright Spaces and Pet-Friendly Atmosphere"

This place is really bright and open, with lots of staff available for the residents. There are two outdoor courtyards and an indoor walking area. Families and pets are welcome, and they even offer a day option and respite care.

"Fantastic Facility with a Smart Director and Top-Notch Care"

This place is amazing. The director is smart and keeps everything current. The facility is clean and positive, focusing on all the things my mom needs that I can't do or she won’t let me do.
