Woodcrest Home for Senior Citizens

"Prompt responses, kind staff, average neighborhood."
[name] is very prompt with her responses. The staff is very kind and caring. The surrounding community is just an average neighborhood. Overall, I would recommend this place to other families.

"Unsatisfactory Assisted Living Experience: Lack of Information and Communication"
I went for a tour, but they didn't know about it even though "A Place for Mom" had set it up. The person in charge was barefoot at the door. The residents were all in nightclothes in the living room, seeming unresponsive. It's a small residential house. The rooms are tiny. The person showing me around didn't know the rates for respite care. They said Velma would call me, but it's been two days with no call. I wouldn't choose this place for my mother.

"Not the Right Fit for My Loved One"
Woodcrest Home Owner, [name removed], is very kind and caring toward her residents. However, I noticed a strong odor when I entered the home, even while wearing a mask. The window A/C unit in the bedroom concerned me because my loved one would share the room with a dementia patient who doesn't watch TV at night. Overall, this residential community isn't a good fit for my loved one. I'll thank for the tour but choose another community.

"Disappointing Assisted Living with Busy Location"
I met with the guy and looked at a room they had. The room had a sad view of a wooden fence. It didn't seem like a good place for my mom. Getting to the neighborhood means dealing with lots of traffic on IH 35 and Loop 410, which is always busy.

"Feels Like Home, Needs More Activities"
I love that there are only a few residents, so the caregivers really get to know everyone well. They call me if there are any concerns or if my mom just needs to hear my voice. It feels very homey and not too clinical. I do wish they had more activities for the residents.

"A Caring and Convenient Place for My Loved One"
I visited Woodcrest Home for Senior Citizens and was really impressed by how friendly the owner and her staff were. We talked about the care my husband would need, and she made me feel confident he would be well cared for. A few days later, my daughter and I came back, and she was also impressed. She liked that [Removed], the owner, introduced us to each resident by name, which made it feel more personal and like each person was treated as an individual. We didn’t see any activities since my loved one is at a point where he can't join in. He's been at Woodcrest for over a week now, and I'm really happy with how much the staff cares about everyone. Since it's a small place, they can spend more time with each person. Plus, Woodcrest is less than ten minutes from my home, so I can visit every day.

"Nice Guide, But Facility Wasn't Great"
The tour guide who showed my dad and me around was really nice, no problems there. But, I wasn't too happy with the general look and feel of the place. The bedrooms seemed too small and cramped. The level of care seemed more intense than what my dad actually needed. Everybody living here just sat peacefully in their chairs, not making much noise.

"A Great Choice for Mom!"
Mom's doing great at Woodcrest. The staff is super caring, always watching out for her. The place is spotless, even the bathrooms. I haven't tried the food yet, but the menu looks good. They encourage social activities like card games. I'd recommend this care home.

"Exceptional Care and Great Staff at Woodcrest Home!"
The staff here really makes sure my loved ones get great care. They are all very attentive and communicate well with both my loved ones and me. The staff encourages my loved ones to join in activities as much as they're comfortable. The meals are great, and I have no complaints. I highly recommend Woodcrest Home for Senior Citizens.

"Exceptional Care in a Comfortable Setting"
My wife had a stroke and needs help getting around and ready for the day. The staff at this place goes above and beyond to make sure she is comfortable and happy. Even though this has been a tough time for us because we’re not exactly senior citizens, I couldn’t ask for a better place. Also, I noticed that the showers have been updated in the last 6 months and are now easy to walk into. Thank you, Vilma, and the Woodcrest team.

"Caring, Clean, and Supportive!"
Ms. Vilma and the team at Woodcrest Home for Senior Citizens were amazing! They took the BEST care of my mom in a CLEAN, friendly, and positive place where everyone feels like FAMILY! I couldn’t have given my mom the same level of care and respect that they did. They supported her lively spirit and let her stay independent as much as possible. In her final days, they made her comfortable and provided warmth, love, and spiritual support just like family. They were also there for our family, both physically and emotionally. Thanks to Paul Hamilton from A Place for Mom, my mom could live her last days comfortably, safely, and happily with the love and care she deserved. I truly appreciate Woodcrest and everyone there for everything they did.

A Place For Mom Customer
"Concerns about assisted living facility's maintenance and shower accessibility."
The place isn't as nice as Dignity Senior Care. I'm worried because the shower isn't the kind you walk into. I don't think it's right for my mom.
